The pull tabs are very useful, at least for me, because I bent a lot of HDD connectors and even broke the plastic around some only by not pulling the cable straight. Another feature of the Cooler Master cables is the aluminum foil shielding. Compared to a standard non-shielded rounded cable, the Cooler Master models have a clear advantage. This shielding, applied under the plastic shirt, protects the wires from electro-magnetic interference.
