A press release from Corsair Memory:

Fremont, CA (March 6, 2006) - Corsair Memory, the worldwide leader in design and manufacture of high performance memory, today launched the world's fastest DDR2 and DDR1 memory solutions for the Intel=AE and the AMD platforms. Rated at scorching fast 1066MHz, the new TWIN2X1024-8500 from Corsair delivers the highest memory frequency currently available to Intel users. Simultaneously, the new TWINX2048-4400PRO takes the lead with its rated 550MHz speed to unleash maximum performance on the AMD platform. Live demonstrations of the world's fastest memory modules can be seen at the Corsair booth in Hall 22, Stand 16B, Booth B6-8.

Taking full advantage of the highly developed RAM sorting technology and custom RAMs from Corsair's semiconductor suppliers, the new XMS2-8500 and the XMS-4400PRO bring unrivaled memory performance to satisfy the most discerning gamers and enthusiasts.

"Last year, Corsair was the first manufacturer to break the 1GHz DDR2 memory frequency barrier and brought the world's first 512MB PC4400 memory to market. Looking ahead, we believe the future DDR2 speed standard for the enthusiasts will become 1066MHz, and Corsair is offering that speed now," stated Richard Hashim, Director of Product Marketing at Corsair Memory. "As we continue to innovate on the DDR1 side, we are proud to be the first and the only manufacturer with 1GB PC4400 high-frequency modules that truly work at their rated speed in a 2GB configuration," added Hashim.

To support the latest Intel platform as well as showcase next generation memory capabilities, Corsair's new TWIN2X1024-8500 addresses the increasing demand to run the processor and the memory controller in asynchronous mode, thereby minimizing performance bottlenecks. To achieve this record memory speed, the Corsair engineering team has carefully selected RAMs and individually tested each module to ensure optimal performance and rock solid stability. The end result is the world's first true PC8500 module with a published clock speed specification of 1066MHz.

Fueled by the increasing number of PC games and applications that benefit from more system memory, users now demand a minimum of 2GB in their systems to achieve maximum performance. The new TWINX2048-4400PRO
answers the need with its 2GB of memory density running at blazing-fast 550MHz in dual channel mode. Taking full advantage of the highly screened Infineon=AE C-rev RAM, the Corsair kit features flexible dual-specification. The users have the flexibility to run the memory module at highest frequency of PC4400 for maximum system performance or PC4000 at CL3 with 1T command rate for highest overclocking head room. Available in the proprietary PRO package, Corsair elevates the user experience by combining ultra-high memory performance with efficient heat sink design and activity LEDs.

"Corsair leads the industry by building products that our users can use today and tomorrow. This year at CeBIT, we again demonstrated our commitment to innovation by engineering the world's fastest desktop computing memory," said John Beekley, VP of Applications Engineering at Corsair Memory. "Our testing and benchmarking results with both the PC2-8500 and PC-4400 have been phenomenal," continued Beekley.

The XMS2-8500 is available in 1GB kits, and the XMS-4400PRO is available in 2GB kits. All Corsair memory products are backed by a lifetime warranty and complete customer support via telephone, email, forum and TechSupport Xpress troubleshooting guide.
