Crucial MX300 2TB 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive Review

Today I got the largest solid state drive in my test lab that I yet had the pleasure to test, at least when it comes to capacity. The physical size of the Crucial MX300 is still just the 2.5-inch that we’re used to from SATA3 drives and that is the most widely compatible form factor and type of drive on the market. I’ve previously had the pleasure to test the 750GB version of the drive which was the first available capacity in the MX300 series. Since then we have gotten more options and form factors to choose from and this is the largest available.

Crucial has two main SSD series, the BX series that provides massive capacities for very little money and the MX series that is the mainstream performance series. The new MX300 combines the best of these two worlds into one drive where you get an instant performance increase over mechanical drives, a long lasting endurance, and a lot of capacity to use.

EK-XLC Predator 280 AIO CPU and MSI GTX 1080 Liquid Cooling Review

ew models in the Predator range, this round with a 280mm Predator series liquid cooler as well. We will test that Predator 280 on a Core i7 4790K processor and will add a GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X from MSI as well to the all-in-one liquid cooling loop. The end result is awesome as, even overclocked, our graphics card would not even pass 45 Degrees C. The nice thick radiator, proper tubing and excellent water-block that is pre-filled and fitted is pretty impressive.

You know, in the world of CPU coolers nothing ever stops developing. These days you can select from a hundred different heat-pipe based coolers where many are shaped, formed and priced the same. The better heat-pipe based coolers are good though. Next in line are LCS (liquid cooling system) setups followed by the real and proper expensive liquid cooling kits. The entry level LCS products are affordable, easy to install pre-fab liquid cooling kits. We've seen and tested many of them as Corsair, Asetek, NZXT, Cooler Master and so on all have interesting kits. Weirdly enough we never tested anything from Slovenia based EK. That ends and starts today. See, things are complicated; 80% of the AIO kits out there are based on an Asetek design, as they hold all the patents. In fact, on numerous occasions they have successfully sued manufacturers for using the concept of a pump and liquid cooling block AIO. So to release an LCS product that does not interfere with existing designs that fall under a patent, EK stepped up. For their excellent stand-alone liquid cooling kits they went to the drawing table and designed the Predator series.

iPhone 7 catches fire too

Don't expect a swift recallIt seems when the iPhone 7 catches fire no one pays any interest and no one calls for an immediate recall, or for them to banned on aircraft.

A Reddit user posted images of his or her brand new iPhone 7 Plus, that has seemingly caught fire and turned into an expensive pile of goo. It was not being recharged or anything like that. It apparently caught fire while it was in transit and the user opened the box to discover it in this state. It was lucky that the package did not catch fire and take an entire shipment with it... what I am I saying? Unfortunately, the package did not catch fire, cause an entire shipment to explode and help raise the standards of the world.

Jasco Enbrighten Cafe LED Lights

Last but certainly not least, we are taking a look at the Jasco Enbrighten Café LED Lights. I have to be honest; when I saw them at a recent show I didn't pay them much attention. But afterwards I started researching some of the products I saw and really liked the promotional images and probably more importantly my wife did too. These strands come in 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48 foot lighted lengths with bulbs spaced two feet apart. If you need something longer; you can link up to 350 feet of these together. The wattage will depend on your length but it appears as if each bulb uses approximately 1 watt. They are commercial grade and UL rated for permanent outdoor installations.

MSI GE62VR 6RF Apache Pro Review: A Pascal-Powered Gaming Laptop

The migration down from a 28-nanometer manufacturing process to a 16nm FinFET process has been good for NVIDIA, not just for Pascal's ability to push more pixels, but also in terms of power efficiency and performance-per-watt. NVIDIA says it achieved a "quantum leap" in both regards, and nothing we've seen suggests they're wrong.

What that ultimately means for end users is that NVIDA's latest mobile GPUs are now more aligned with their desktop equivalents. NVIDIA even went and dropped the "M" designation from its GeForce 10 Series mobile parts, including the GeForce GTX 1060, which is featured in MSI's GE62VR 6RF Apache Pro we'll be showing you here...
