Sparkle 8800GTS 512MB Review: G92 Madness Continues
Madshrimps posted Sparkle 8800GTS 512MB Review

The G92 based Geforce 8800GT was a very exciting product, unfortunately NVIDIA was short of supply and lower priced ATI HD3850 & HD3870 gained a lot of popularity this way. The higher-end market still remained untouched; to fill up this gap NVIDIA came up with a second wave of 8800GTS video cards. With the GT in mind, could we be dealing with yet another great NVIDIA product? We find out.

AMD HD3870X2 Review
Bjorn3D are looking at the new AMd HD3870X2.

The HD3870X2 is not your average video card. Instead of creating a single GPU with the power to compete with the 8800Ultra and beyond, AMD has chosen to go the multi-chip route instead. The HD3870X2, just as the name implies, simply is a card that has two HD3870 GPU's. It is not the first video card in history with two GPU's. The ATi Radeon Rage Fury MAX is one example and we all remember NVIDIA's first attempt, the GeForce 7950 GX2. Recently AMD tested a similar design with the HD2600 Gemini cards which were a very rare sight in the wild. NVIDIA is also working on a multi-GPU card that should be out pretty soon.

Radeon HD 3870 X2 review (HIS retail sample)
The Guru of 3D posted a review on the Radeon HD 3870 X2

What you are here for today is that new mammal called the Radeon HD 3870 X2. Pretty cool stuff, as this is a multi-GPU solution on one PCB (one board). Yep, two graphics processors on one board, bridged, making it a "single" card, a card that because it's bridged will work on any mainboard with a fast enough PCIe slot .. and yes that's including NVIDIA's nForce series. Twice the performance of RV670 (Radeon HD 3870), twice the memory (2x512MB) boasting the HD 3870 X2 product in the high-end segment, aimed at you guys at an okay price.

Vantec NexStar MX Dual Hard Drive Enclosure Review
Futurelooks posted a review on the Vantec NexStar MX Dual Hard Drive Enclosure

Sure, you could back up that data onto a series of blank DVD discs, but those are only a few gigs in size. It doesn’t take much to fill up a disc, so it’s probably a better option to look at online storage or, alternatively, a reliable external hard drive, particularly one with loads of space. The NexStar MX external hard drive enclosure from Vantec sounds it fits the bill, because it houses two drives instead of just one. And each of these drives can be up to one terabyte in space, effectively giving you enough room to backup a full 2TB of photos, music, videos, documents, and whatever else you want to store. Most importantly, it looks great doing it too!

Sunbeam Tuniq 3 Case Review
3D Game Man posted a review on the Sunbeam Tuniq 3 Case

The Tuniq 3 case is something that will be on the fence for a lot of potential buyers. The front of the case has a very elegant/professional look with its uninterrupted brushed aluminum face. The left side features a window but is obstructed by ventilation, cooling brackets and drive bays. This kind of makes it useless. The included internal 120mm fans and the two Blue CCFLs light up the surrounding area with a wonderful blue glow (the red colors are from the PSU used to test the case..

MSI K9A2 Platinum 790FX Motherboard Review
Neoseeker has published a review of MSI's K9A2 Platinum motherboard.

I was quite pleased with how well the MSI K9A2 Platinum overclocked - it managed to reach 270MHz HT speed stably; granted this is lower than the 300MHz the M2N32-SLI can reach, but it is very good for a Socket AM2 motherboard nonetheless.

As you saw from the charts, the 12x250 (3.0GHz) results were often better than the 11x270 (2.97GHz) results. Unlike Intel's FSB based architecture, the independent HyperTransport and memory channels mean that there is not an "all critical" FSB that must be tuned as high as possible. For AMD architectures, as long as the memory is running fast enough to feed the cores, the absolute core speed will be more important than the highest possible hypertransport speed.

Seagate FreeAgent Pro 1TB Review
OCC has published a new review of the Seagate FreeAgent Pro 1TB

The Seagate FreeAgent 1TB External hard drive has three different ways that it is able to connect to your computer, which makes this external hard drive very versatile between different setups and can be maximized for data transfer speeds. The three interfaces that it takes advantage of are USB 2.0, FireWire 400, and eSATA. The USB 2.0 and eSATA connections are located on the USB/eSATA module that is already installed on the bottom of the FreeAgent, however if you wish to use FireWire 400, you will need to remove the USB/eSATA module and install the FireWire module, which is very easy. The modules are held in by one screw, which upon removal are able to be popped out.

HD 3870 in Crossfire vs. HD 3870 X2
TweakTown posted a comparison review between HD 3870 in Crossfire vs. HD 3870 X2

The one downside about graphics cards which carry two cores on the singular PCB is that they’re normally slower than buying two separate cards based on the same tech. What we’re going to look at here today is the performance of the HD 3870 X2 compared to the HD 3870 in Crossfire.

We’re not going to look at the packages etc. since we’ve covered that side of things with the cards separately in the past. We’re simply just going to get stuck straight into the benchmarking, so let’s leave it at that and move on.

Cooler Master Hyper TX2 CPU cooler review
Elite Bastards posted Cooler Master Hyper TX2 CPU cooler review

Taking a look at the listed specification of the cooler puts some more meat on the bones of what we've already seen. For starters, we find ourselves with confirmation of the 90mm cooling fan seen on the front of the cooler, with a speed of 1800 RPM. Behind that, we find three copper heatpipes together with the copper base which draws heat away from the processor, where it is dissipated by a combination of the cooling fan and numerous aluminium fins which make up the Hyper TX2's heatsink.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 USB Webcam Review
Everything USB posted their Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 USB Webcam Review

About 15 years ago, AT&T had a commercial where they talked about exciting future consumer technologies; things like movies on demand, digital video recording, and my favorite, video phone calls, Star Trek style. The premise of the commercial was that AT&T was going to bring you this exciting future, so you should give the company lots of money now. As it turns out, the commercial was wrong, but the ideas were correct; we have on demand, we have DVR, and - thanks to instant messaging, VoIP, and webcams, we have video phone calls. This concept is something Microsoft understands very well - they've integrated a group of programs around a few different webcams, including the subject of today's review, the VX-7000 USB webcam. Today we'll be seeing whether or not this video package makes the video phone dream an easy-to-use reality.
