ASUS N73: One Step Closer to Perfection
InsideHW.com has reviewed ASUS N73JQ notebook

ASUS has definitely decided to change their image as fast as possible and catch up with the more popular brands in terms of notebook computers. Several years back, their mobile department was all but disregarded, but things changed over time, and their notebook profits have risen on a quarterly basis. The fact that they have given notebook PCs their full attention led them from churning out average models to certain series being prestigious even when compared to their competitors. Besides, ASUS has seriously undertaken the task of separating user classes, which usually provides them with a hit in every category - from the K series which covers the widest spectrum of “ordinary” users and those who are “unsure” what specifications they really need, to the N and G series which are a story on their own. The models from the G (Gaming) series are a fantastic alternative to brands such as Alienware, offering similar or better performance at a significantly lower price point. On the other hand, the N series, the representative of which we’re reviewing this time, aspires to be the best multimedia notebook in its class - and we have to admit that it’s off to a good start!...

Razer TRON Gaming Mouse & Mat Review
HardwareHeaven.com posted a review on the Razer TRON Gaming Mouse & Mat

When Razer offered us their licenced TRON mouse and mat we were a little sceptical about the products, wary due to our experience with other licenced products but still hoping that with this particular set of items that Razer could reach their normal levels of quality. Read on to find out how they did.

GlacialTech Alaska Multiple Platform CPU Cooler Review
Computing on Demand has posted a new article, 'GlacialTech Alaska Multiple Platform CPU Cooler'

For a long time, I was a cooling enthusiast; it was water or nothing. However, as improvements have been made over the last few years, the idea of air cooling has become an attractive option.  The days of drilling holes in my case for mounting radiators and clumsy water pump configurations have gone out the window.  Although nothing looks as cool as a water cooled rig, it is troublesome to maintain, a bear to move to a new case, and it can get expensive.  Stock heatsinks have come a long way too and, with their improvements, other manufacturers have stepped up their game. GlacialTech has an inclination that the Alaska can find itself a home in our bench rig. Let's see if that assumption is correct.

Quick Review: G.Skill Ripjaws Series PC3-16000 8GB Kit
TweakTown posted a quick review on the G.Skill Ripjaws Series PC3-16000 8GB Kit

Today we're looking at another kit of RAM from G.Skill and this one doesn't carry the new "X" tag at the end of the "Ripjaws" name, which means it isn't quite as hard core as the previous 2133MHz DDR kit we looked at. Instead, this kit carries with it a 2000MHz DDR clock, but is twice as large with the two modules coming in at 4GB each.

This isn't the first time we've looked at a 2000MHz DDR kit on our new P67 platform; we recently looked at an OCZ kit and while the kit is indeed good, the divider options on the P67 mean that 2000MHz DDR can't be set without the BCLK moving. Of course, the P67 has also brought with it very limited adjustment when it comes to the BCLK, which on a whole has made overclocking a little different for most.

AMD Fusion Hits Retail: Zotac and Gigabyte E-350s Tested
HotHardware.com posted a review on the AMD Fusion platform

Recently, a smattering of products based on Zacate and its lower-power cousin, Ontario, have since begun trickling out to retail and we've gotten our hands on two of them for some in-house testing. Although they are based on the same AMD E-350 APU (Accelerated Processing Unit), the Gigabyte E350N-USB3 and Zotac Zbox Blu-Ray AD03 Plus are two very different products. The Gigabyte E350N-USB3 is a mini-ITX mobo featuring an E-350 APU targeting the DIY crowd, while the Zotac Zbox is a sleek, highly-integrated, full-featured HTPC...

OCZ Vertex 3 Pro SandForce SF-2000 Based SSD Preview
HotHardware.com posted a preview on the OCZ Vertex 3 Pro SandForce SF-2000 Based SSD

OCZ Technologies' Vertex 2 series of products are undeniably some of the more popular Solid State Drives currently on the market. Since their introduction, the drives have offered excellent performance, competitive prices (which have dropped considerably in recent weeks), and excellent support in terms of constant firmware updates and guidance / tweaks via the OCZ forum community, from both customers and OCZ staff.

While the Vertex 2 is still amongst the elite SSDs available, OCZ is reading a family of follow-up products that are going to raise the bar considerably. Like the Vertex 2, the upcoming Vertex 3 series of products leverages SandForce's excellent SSD controller technology, but this time around SandForce's next-gen SF-2000 family of processors are at the heart of the drives. As it turns out, SandForce's SF-2000 improves upon their previous generation of controllers in essentially every way...

OCZ Vertex 3 PRO (SATA 6G) SSD Review
The Guru of 3D posted a review on the OCZ Vertex 3 PRO SSD

We review the Vertex 3 PRO from OCZ. This SSD reaches read speeds of 550 MB per sec with write speeds of 500 MB per sec and makes use of the SATA 6G / SATA III interface.

Granted that if the source is equally fast, that means you could copy the entire content of a CDROM in just over a second towards the SSD. So without further ado, have a peek at the OCZ Technology SATA III based Vertex 3 PRO.

Gigabyte X58-USB3 Intel X58 Motherboard Review
ThinkComputers.org posted a review on the Gigabyte X58-USB3 Intel X58 Motherboard

With the release of the Sandy Bridge processors and Intel’s P67 chipset you may think that X58 systems are done with, but they are really not. If you are a hardcore gamer or PC enthusiast who wants to get the most out of their CPU the X58 platform is still your best bet. It is also the only platform to support triple channel memory and Intel’s Core i7 processors. The thing that holds many people back from getting a X58 system is the price of the components. Well Gigabyte knows this and has released the X58-USB3 board that is a lower-priced board that still has all the great features you want with an X58 setup. Let’s take a look…

Thermaltake Jing CPU Cooler CLP0574 Review
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the Thermaltake Jing CPU Cooler CLP0574

With cars, a frequent trade-off buyers must consider is performance versus mileage. All other things being equal, higher performance cars generally use more fuel than lower-performance cars. There are ways to work around this: for example, reducing a vehicle's weight will improve both performance and mileage. CPU coolers make similar trade-offs: better performance is often accompanied by more noise, and the workaround is to make the cooler larger, since more metal dissipates more heat with a slower, quieter airflow. Thermaltake's new Jing CPU cooler attempts to hit the sweet spot of the performance/noise compromise, and Benchmark Reviews pits it against a collection of high-end air coolers and water coolers to see how it compares.

Gainward GeForce GTX 570 1280MB Phantom Video Card Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Gainward GeForce GTX 570 1280MB Phantom Video Card

We haven't seen a lot of the GTX 570 since it was launched. Apart from the reference card we saw from MSI and the original overclocked one from Gainward, there hasn't been much else to look at. Today, though, we're looking at another one, albeit from Gainward again. This one's a little more interesting, though, as it carries with it a new series name. We're not too sure what to expect from the new Phantom series, but this is our first take at it; although we've seen that Gainward have also launched a GTX 560 Ti under the same series.

Sentey Burton Review
OCC has published a review on the Sentey Burton case

First off, I want to say that the Sentey Burton is probably one of the neatest cases on the inside that I have ever worked with. The paint quality is phenomenal, there are awesome wire management capabilities, and the lighting is just right. I do wish there was a side panel window to show off the great looking insides though! Sentey in fact offers cases with side panel windows, but the majority of the other models in the "Extreme Division" have side panels very much like, if not identical, to the Burton. The red, black, and silver interior is a good look and I like it a lot.

The G.Skill Ripjaws come in various flavors and capacities, but focus more on the mainstream overclocker. With many different versions and color variants of the kit out there, one could wonder if G.Skill is not simply trying to create models to cover every memory chip they get their hands on. But, we take a look at the 1600 MHz kit and are surprised to find headroom, lots and lots of headroom.
