OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SATA 3 6Gbps SandForce SSD Preview
Legit Reviews posted a review on the OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SATA 3 6Gbps SandForce SSD

Since the inception of the line, the Vertex name has been synonymous with performance and helped propel OCZ to a prominent position in the SSD market. Not resting on their laurels, OCZ has jumped out in front again with the Vertex 3 to be the first to launch a line featuring the latest SandForce controllers paired with a SATA III 6Gbps interface and 25nm NAND, while others ostensibly seem a little more conservative in their speed to market. Just how high has the bar been set? Read on to see.

Overall, the Vertex 3 240GB drive is a beast. While we've seen better performance in OCZ's own RevoDrives, those are PCI-E based and set up in a RAID configuration. Even then, the Vertex 3 bested the original RevoDrive in a number of tests. The combination of the SandForce SF-2281 controller and the SATA III 6Gbps interface has really taken the SATA based SSD to a new level. With 550MB/s reads and 525MB/s writes, it sets the pace for the crowd of drives that are sure to follow....

Dell U3011 Ultrasharp Monitor Review
KitGuru posted a review on the Dell U3011 Ultrasharp Monitor

Dell have always had a reputation for creating some of the finest monitors on the market. While they do make a wide array of panels for the mass market audience, they have always focused on the high end technology. Their U2410 has received a lot of critical acclaim, earning a top award on KitGuru, and they have also recently released the U2711, a 27 inch panel which features IPS technology.

Both of these panels offer 10 bit colour depth capabilities, helping to target the discerning graphic design industry. Today we are looking at the latest U3011 panel, the class leading 30 inch screen with all the bells and whistles.

MSI Radeon 6870 HAWK review
The Guru of 3D posted a review on the MSI Radeon 6870 HAWK

MSI is pre-overclocking this 1024MB HAWK model towards 930 MHz. And then there's the overclock potential, a new voltage regulation circuitry was embedded, allowing not only to play and tweak around with GPU voltages, nope ... they added voltage control for the memory and Auxilary/PLL voltage as well. We see a custom PCB with phase LEDs, voltage monitoring points, military class components and to put some icing on the cake, the all new TwinFrz III heatpipe cooler that is bound to bring good temperatures versus low noise levels.

ECS A890GXM-A2 Motherboard Review
OCC has published a review on the ECS A890GXM-A2 Motherboard

Surprisingly I was able to get the system to boot with a reference clock of 229MHz, but no more. I booted into the OS and figured I would give the ECS eOC program a shot to fine tune even further. I was able to use the utility to squeeze a few more MHz out of the system and still pass the benchmarks and stability tests. The final stable OC I was able to achieve was 4060MHz, which is a big improvement over past ECS boards I have tested. I was quite happy with this number for the overclocked tests.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 PRO CPU Cooler Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 PRO CPU Cooler

I was not sent a sample of the original inception, which by Google's dating system on the reviews, it looks like the Freezer 13 came out at the end of last year. This version of the cooler is a bit different in both the shape of the fin body, and the design that gets stamped into each fin of the Freezer 13 versus the newer PRO release. The original design called for four 6mm diameter heat pipes that got surrounded by forty-five aluminum fins, and the lower set of 10 fins were smaller than the rest. On top of that, the Freezer 13 was only shipped with a 92mm fan to do all the work. All things considered, a 200W rating on that cooler is impressive to say the least.

Going back to square one, Arctic Cooling keeps the base, but this time adds bigger heat pipes. Also to aid in heat dissipation, the PRO version also has much more surface area in the larger fin array. The largest addition of the Freezer 13 PRO is a 120mm fan this time around to get more air flowing over the larger surface area. That isn't all, though, not only is this version bigger in looks and feel, but Arctic Cooling is trying out something I have yet to see on any cooler I have tested. If I have intrigued you with what you have heard thus far, I urge you to continue on and see what this new concept has in store for very high heat producing CPUs. In this case, up to 300 Watts of power!

Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU Cooler Review
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU Cooler

CPU cooler design (for air coolers, anyway) boils down to a few simple truths: while things like heat pipe technology and base finish are important, the determining factors in a heat sink's performance are its size and its airflow. Size is critical because the more metal a CPU cooler contains, the more mass there is to absorb heat. Airflow is important because the heat must be transferred from the heat sink to the surrounding air. With its Silver Arrow design, Thermalright seeks to maximize both of these parameters within the limitations imposed by a standard computer case, and the result is a giant cooler with twin 140mm fans. In this review, Benchmark Reviews puts the Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU cooler to the test against a selection of high-end air and water coolers.

SandForce SF-2000 Series SSD Overview
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the SandForce SF-2000 Series SSD

Less than one year ago SandForce gained control of the consumer solid state drive market with their SandForce SF-1200 SSD Processor. This technology replaced the previous generation of Barefoot SSDs designed around South Korean-based Indilinx, Inc. While popular themselves, Indilinx Barefoot MLC SSDs lacked proper NAND management and performance dramatically degraded over time. SandForce DuraClass technology paired to TRIM support in Windows 7 has helped with this concern, but it was their RAISE technology that provides RAID-like protection for single SSD computer systems paired to AES-128 automatic data encryption that put them on top. Now preparing to ship their second generation of SSD processors, Benchmark Reviews takes a look at the differences.

Sony VAIO S Review
Business Computing World published a review of the Sony VAIO S

If environmental considerations are important to you then the fact that 85% of the plastics in the VAIO VPCS13V9E/B are made from recycled materials may well appeal. You'll also like that the LED is mercury free. The plentiful RAM and large hard drive might make this laptop appropriate for small business users who lack networked services and carry all their data and applications with them at all times. But you'll be stacking these factors up against a somewhat chunky, heavy build, relatively expensive price, plenty of unwanted software to remove and a battery which will need feeding in the early afternoon.
