RaptoxX RT-750 and RT-1000 PSUs
3D Game Man posted a review on RaptoxX RT-750 and RT-1000 PSUs

Over all the Exxtreme series of power supplies from RaptoxX has proven to be a stable and reliable product. It is not surprising to see the RT-750 rate lower than the RT-1000 given the lower wattage rating, but I was surprised to see the weakness of the 12v rails on the RT-750. The RT-750 (looking back to the specifications) only has three rails and each vary on their numbers. The RT-1000 has a much stronger rail system featuring four 12v rails and each have plenty of amperage.

XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB Alpha Dog XXX Edition review
Elite Bastards take a look at a factory overclocked GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB graphics board from XFX

As you might expect given the protracted naming scheme of this board, the Alpha Dog XXX GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB is all about factory overclocks while sticking with NVIDIA's reference cooler for this particular part. Thus, we find that this board ships with a core clock speed of 678MHz against 650MHz on a reference part, while shader clocks are bumped to 1700MHz compared to 1625MHz at stock. Memory also gets a small increase, up to 986MHz here compared to 970MHz on a reference GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB.

GeForce 9600 GT vs. Radeon HD 3870
TechSpot compares today's top mainstream graphics products in single-card and multi-card (SLI & Crossfire) modes.

The great debate right now is which of these two graphics cards, the new GeForce 9600 GT or the Radeon HD 3870, is faster and represents the best value for gamers. We have put both products to the test in both single card and multi-GPU mode (SLI and Crossfire) to determine which product is king in the sub-$200 graphics market.

Thermaltake Toughpower QFan 650W power supply Review
Bit-Tech published a review of the Thermaltake Toughpower QFan 650W power supply

We like this PSU, but only to a certain extent -- it's certainly a solidly built unit with awesome efficiency and it's virtually silent for just about everyone that will buy this kind of unit. The modular connectors work well, however the cable choices could be far better in more than one case. In addition, the branding is overpowering to the point of grotesque -- having that in a case will only make us feel like an ad-whore rather than letting the PSU speak for itself. Even though it's nice to see a variation in colour---the white fan in particular---we're not wildly in love with the whole look.

The QFan design, while very quiet, is nullified by the stupid piece of plastic screwed under half of it. It's not like the unit gets hot, but it makes a super-large 14cm fan quiet pointless if the airflow is being forced out where it was supposed to be sucked in from! I'm not entirely sure still if it's //that revolutionary either -- it's essentially a shroudless fan rather than one with specifically clipped edges from the likes of a Noctua NF-P12 fan, which, to us at least, seems significantly technically superior.

Regardless the power supply seems to work well, and even if it is a multi-rail design, the spread of rails and their weighting is sufficient to cover the 600W+ out of the total 650W they can push between just three out of four.

But the question is: is it worth it over the likes of Corsair, PC Power and Cooling, Seasonic or Tagan in the same price range? It's difficult to say and it will come down to a personal preference of looks and package. An educated guess would tell me that most people will still go for the tried and tested Corsair HX620W, or the Seasonic M12 (which are virtually the same thing!) if they are looking for modular connectors. If you are tempted by a Thermaltake though -- at least we can say you'd get a good deal with this Toughpower QFan 650W model.

Tuniq Ensemble 1200W Review
XSReviews has reviewed the Tuniq Ensemble 1200W

With the recent addition of triple SLI and multi GPU gaming rather than single powerful cards, power supplies with quadruple figure watt values are being recommended more and more by manufacturers. Whether it's due to actual necessity or the want to sell more, high power PSU's are now more common than ever.

Today I have the Tuniq Ensemble which will be pitted against a couple of 8800 Ultra's to determine whether it passes the gamer grade. Featuring four PCI-e connectors, dual fans and 87% efficiency, let's see if you can frag while saving the earth at the same time.

Asus EN8800GTS (NVIDIA 8800GTS) TOP 512MB Review
APH Networks posted a review on the Asus EN8800GTS (NVIDIA 8800GTS) TOP 512MB

First came the 8800GTS, along comes the 8800GT, and then... the 8800GTS? Welcome to NVIDIA's latest naming scheme. With the original 8800GTS 320MB and 640MB is the 90nm G80 core; the latest wave of 8800 series cards include the 65nm G92 8800GT and 8800GTS -- typically distinguished by its nominal memory configuration of 512MB on board. The NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT was quite a margin faster than the original G80 based 8800GTS -- the Asus factory overclocked 8800GT TOP at 700/1000 is even faster. How about the G92 based 8800GTS, commonly known as the 8800GTS 512MB perform? Or, better yet, how will the Asus 8800GTS TOP, aggressively clocked and pretty much the fastest graphics card in its family at 740/1035, pull out on our benchmark graphs today? Besides that, we'll examine the noise factor as well as power consumption today. Let's jump right into the Asus EN8800GTS TOP 512MB review right now.

EVGA e-GeForce 9600GT SSC Edition Review
Gamepyre posted a review on the EVGA e-GeForce 9600GT SSC Edition

NVIDIA's new 9600GT card is targeted at the $199 and below price point and EVGA says this card should come in at $200-220. At this level of
performance and pricing, the 9600GT competes against ATI's HD3850 card and almost competes against the 8800GT as that card is available online for $240 from Newegg. The 9600GT outperforms the HD3850 card from Diamond and the HD3870 card from ATI, making it an interesting choice but does not outperform the 8800GT in most cases. It has been over a year and a half since NVIDIA has launched a high-end video card in the form of the 8800GTX, with rumors of a 9800GX2 card coming hopefully it will bring high performance back into the mainstream for a good price. For now, the 9600GT is a great replacement for the 8600GT offering higher performance and a similar price point but not a great replacement for the 8800GT which is within striking range at this price point.

Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus 1TB Review
OCC has published a new review of the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus 1TB

While comparing the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus 1TB to the Seagate FreeAgent Pro 1TB models, it did just about the same if not quite as good in just about all of the different benchmarks that it was thrown up against. The OneTouch 4 Plus was unable to compete with the internal hard drive, which is to be expected due to the fact that no matter how the device was attached to the computer, it had to run through some sort of bus.

Zalman ZM-DS4F Dual Speaker Headset/Headphones Review
Tweaknews.net posted a review on the Zalman ZM-DS4F Dual Speaker Headset/Headphones

I can definitely say these headphones would be a fine upgrade from a pair of earbuds included with mp3 players. They are light, durable, and music sounds crisp and clear no matter how loud the volume is. The fold up design allows for portability and the $30 US price tag won't break the bank either.

Palit GeForce 8800GT Super+1GB Review
Techgage posted a review of Palit's 8800 GT card.

We've been fans of NVIDIA's 8800 GT since launch, and Palit helps us remember why. Though utilizing reference clocks, the Super+1GB doubles the competitions memory, but as we found out, it's difficult to see a difference. Overclocking yields far better results, and luckily, this card delivers there as well.

Zalman ZM-FG1000 FPSGUN Gaming Mouse Review
Bit-Tech published a review of the Zalman ZM-FG1000 FPSGUN Gaming Mouse

Gaming mice are probably the most important peripheral hardcore gamers can invest in, so cost is not usually an issue if the gains are noticeable. What Zalman is asking you to do though is to buy into an idea, a concept – one that may or may not work according to how well you adjust and how big your hands are.

Comparing the FPSGUN to the likes of a Razer or SteelSeries mouse though might be considered a little unfair, as essentially you are limited to using the FPSGUN for FPS games. So, even if you did invest ?35 in the FPSGUN, you would still have to stick with your old mouse for everything else – for us, this ruins any of the value and attraction the design
could have ever had.
