In the words of Sam Beckett: Oh, boy. Really, it's hard to know where to begin with a case like the Silentium T2 ECO 80. On paper, Arctic Cooling's intentions are cleary for the good and aiming in all the right directions. The idea of using rubber around the fans to prevent vibration and using heatsinks instead of fans to cool the HDD is fine and we of course love anything that can help make computing a more environmentally friendly hobby.

When a new high-end graphics card comes out you like to think that a CPU with four cores clocked at 3GHz is going to do the job pretty well. Though, like most high-end cards, when we start to increase the CPU clock further, we can begin to see some really good gains in performance.

So we’ve done exactly that today, we’ve moved our trusty Intel quad-core Q6600 processor up to 3.75GHz but at the same time we thought that we may as well see what we can do with the clocks on the GeForce 9800 GX2. The increases clock speeds will be what most consumers can achieve without spending a truck load of cash on extreme cooling. CPU is cooled using Corsair water cooling and the GX2 uses its stock standard air cooling.

After playing with the MA790FX-DS5 for a while, I was thoroughly impressed with the stability and the ease of overclocking the board has to offer. The high quality components and the layout of the board are second to none. The 790FX chipset is coming into maturity and will only get better with time. AMD users will have an excellent upgrade path if they choose to ride out the current storm with the X2 and Phenom CPUs currently lagging behind Intel's offerings.

In the past, we’ve found Crucial memory to be a bit more expensive regardless of the type you buy, and even though you get free delivery when you buy from Crucial direct, it’s often difficult to find a comparison elsewhere because there are few other stores stocking it. You are paying for the "extra technology" of the lights and looks, which some people will want to pay, but can this really compare to the design of the more obvious DHX, Reaper (HPC) or FlexXLC heatsinks for example?

There are also a //lot of modules available in the market for 4GB kits now, however very few are rated to CAS-4 and, from our tests here, we've found the Crucial Ballistix Tracer has the potential to do some pretty awesome overclocks for what is a pair of DIMMs rated at just 800MHz.

While the market has moved in such a way that makes the red version we’ve reviewed here a premium just not worth paying, the standard Ballistix Tracer 4GB in black competes with a few of the funkier OCZ modules shown above, that have a similar set of enhanced timings for around the same price. Overall then, if you’re after a bit of bling, the latest Crucial Ballistix Tracer modules shouldn't leave you disappointed.

Seagate blessed Bjorn3D this week with their newest and largest 2.5 inch hard drive, the Momentus 5400.4 RPM 250GB (3.0Gb/s). First impressions out of the box left me thinking it was going to be much slower than a 7200 RPM hard drive. Boy was I wrong. Way wrong. I noticed that the interface was faster than the 7200 RPM but I wasn't sure how the RPM differences and interface differences would scale out. The Momentus 250GB hard drive is faster and is as quiet as the hard drive in my Dell Latitude 820 (TravelStar 7200 RPM 80GB 1.5Gb/s). These facts, and the 5 year warranty Seagate provides, make this a great buy if you are looking for a new drive.

TweakTown tested the GeForce 9800 GX2 again, this time with the ForceWare 174.51 drivers

We said we would test the GX2 again once we obtained some updated drivers, and that’s exactly what we’re about to do right now. From a hotmail account this morning, we received the 174.51 drivers. The difference between these drivers and the last batch of 174 drivers we tried is that these ones actually installed!

Word is that the new drivers fix the profile issues that were present in the 173.67 release. While some people say SLI just wasn’t working in the first driver we tested, the issues seem more related to profiles.
