Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD Review w/ 25nm Flash

As a follow-up to their very successful X25-M series of drives, Intel has launched their 320 Series drives which feature a host of new features while being driven by their own proprietary controller. With the SATA 3Gbps SSD market being so crowded, can Intel tempt consumers to look their way? See the outcome of the testing and judge for yourself.

Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD Performance Review
PC Perspective posted a review on the Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD

Less than a month after the introduction of the 510 Series SSD, Intel has released the 320 Series. This is essentially a 'G3' X25-M, running at the usual SATA 3Gb/sec speeds. While it won't be as fast in a straight line as the 510 series, the 320 has the extremely nimble 10-channel controller under its belt. Check out our review to see how it fared against the competition, as well as against the other Intel models.

Thermaltake Meka G1 Keyboard Review
Hardware Secrets posted a review on the Thermaltake Meka G1 Keyboard

Thermaltake released a robust keyboard model to handle several hours of intense gaming. See how the new peripheral performed under our test.

Compact, simple, to the point and robust. Those are adjectives that come swiftly to mind when we analyze the Meka G1 keyboard from Thermaltake, a peripheral made to last hours of gameplay and that comes lacking most of the bells and whistles from the competion: there are neither programmable keys nor a backlighting feature. The ideia is to be a tool that can handle the job and make the user's life easier by presenting a two-port USB hub plus two dedicated microphone and audio plugs so you don't need to crawl to the back of the desktop in a regular basis. Can it be that the Meka G1 delivered? See our test after the product's description.

AC Ryan Playon!HD Mini 2 Review
XSReviews has a new review of the AC Ryan Playon!HD Mini 2.

For those of you that took a look at the AC Ryan Playon!HD2 1TB and thought to yourself, well that looks great, but I already have a PC full of movies, why do I need one in my lounge too? Well, that's a good question and here to answer it is the Mini 2, the storage free, networking content hub that you'll soon want in your living room setup.

GIGABYTE Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse Review
TweakTown posted a review on the GIGABYTE Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse

First impressions last. That's the first thing you'll think of when looking at the GIGABYTE Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse. It's quite striking to look at; to hold on the other hand is a different argument. I use as my everyday mouse a Razer Mamba and it's quite curved; the GIGABYTE Aivia M8600 mouse has a high ridge where your palm rests which can be annoying - you may ask why I'm starting off with a negative?

Because that's about the only thing I didn't like with the mouse. GIGABYTE has done quite a good job on the Aivia M8600. The box packaging is very, very unique with a cylinder tube that comes apart in 3 pieces - the mouse in its own section, with a bag of goodies (charger, batteries, etc) in another section. Every hand is different. Some are small, some are big, some people have large fingers, some have small. I have medium sized hands and my palm kind of double thinks as I lay it on the mouse itself. Kind of like "what the hell is this edged bump?" - but you get used to it.

Intel 320 Series 300GB SATA II SSD Review - Intel Maintains Focus On SATA II SSD Consumer Need
The SSD Review posted a review on the Intel 320 Series 300GB SATA II SSD

Every so often a subject presents itself that, on the surface, leaves people wondering what the heck the company had in mind when they started the production line rolling. The 320 Series SSD seems to be just that as word of this SSD was leaked a few weeks back and the technology community seems to think Intel would be crazy to release this in a time of so many SATA 3 SSD releases. What the heck is Intel thinking?!?
This past week we had the opportunity to speak with Troy Winslow, Intel NAND Group Marketing Manager, with respect to just this and we were also able to put this new Intel release through the paces first hand to see what the buzz was really about. Troy reminded us that we might take a look at the bigger picture which was that this is Intels third release in three months and that there is a large segment of present SSD users, as well as those migrating to SSDs, that still rely on SATA 2 computers. Hence, there just may be a key audience for the Intel 320 Series SATA II SSD.

Seagate Barracuda XT 3TB Hard Drive Review
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the Seagate Barracuda XT 3TB Hard Drive

Everyone knows that SSDs cannot offer the capacity of a hard drive, and HDDs will never deliver solid state response time. Somewhere between the speed of Solid State Drive technology and the reliability of value-priced Hard Disk storage is the Seagate Barracuda XT. The Seagate Barracuda XT series is designed for performance computer enthusiasts, as well as large-capacity storage systems. Enthusiast tools such as the free Seagate SeaTools software allow users to custom-define firmware parameters to enable performance features such as 'Short Stroke' and noise reduction. Featuring the industry's largest 3TB capacity and third-generation SATA 6Gb/s controller interface, the Seagate Barracuda XT is also the first product to create a Windows XP-safe software solution for overcoming the 2TB barrier. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the 3TB Seagate Barracuda XT hard drive, model ST33000651AS, against a cross-section of competing storage products using the native SATA-III controller present on the Intel P67 platform.

BitFenix Colossus Window Full Tower Chassis Review
TweakTown posted a review on the BitFenix Colossus Window Full Tower Chassis

August of last year I was awe struck by my first submission from BitFenix. The original Colossus may have been referred to as the lava lamp of cases, but I for one was sold on the concept. That version of the chassis had lighting on the front door as well as both sides. This lighting scheme was very unique mixed in along with the Softouch exterior coating and black steel panels. The version of the Colossus I received was the all black version with optional blue or red LED lighting, with the controls hidden in a lockable front storage tray. On top of that, I haven't even gotten to the wire management on the front of the chassis or the tool-free interior.

One thing I really like about BitFenix is they aren't too proud to ask for help or take great ideas and try to implement these into their chassis'. I remember when this idea was sparked, and I was even privy to seeing some of the window design ideas long before now, and they were interested in my input. This along with comments on forums and their dedication to Facebook advertising and input from those who follow, help BitFenix give the customer exactly what they are looking for.

EVERCOOL HPK-1002EA Review
techPowerUp posted a review on the EVERCOOL HPK-1002EA

Evercool sent us a cute little heatsink to toy around with. But as we unpacked it, the low-profile HPK-1002EA heatsink looked bigger than we imagined. We strapped it on to our LGA1366 test-bed right away. Do small-sized "LGA1366 compatible" heatsinks cut it?
