As seen with the 3Dconnexion equipment, this type of device lends itself best to complex applications, like Adobe's Creative Suite (and the target buyers are creative professionals), but it is configurable so that it can be used under all sorts of different circumstances.

I was thinking of a new project; what to mod or build next after finishing the Embryo Zero case. I searched through the Internet to see what has already been done, and I realized that good worklogs about computer speaker modding do not exist. Logitech kindly supplied me with z-5500 5.1 system as a basis for this project. I think they look ok as stock, but I'm trying to transform them to look more expensive and not so "computer related". I think speakers should be made out of wood, and they should display the material used and not cover it with thick layer of paint.

Neoseeker has published a review of G.Skill's PC2-6400 2GB F2-6400CL4D kit.

The G.Skill PC6400 modules ended up running at up to 975MHz at 4-4-4-12 timing - that is 175MHz above the rated 800MHz speed; a 21.9% increase in raw memory clock rate. We have seen higher memory speeds, but it is still fairly impressive to see a PC6400 module reach PC7800 speeds.

In order to reach 975-4-4-4-12 stably, I had to increase the memory voltage to 2.35V. The modules were quite warm, but they were not too hot to touch, however even increasing the memory voltage to 2.4V did not get them stable at 1000MHz. I was using a 1.45Vcore, 1.65 Northbridge, 1.45 FSB voltage setting.

Right away it's clear to see where the name of the product comes from - it looks like a book! The front of the My Book has two clear rings. The inner ring is lit with a blue LED to show the remaining free space on the drive. The outer ring also has a blue LED and acts as an activity light, flashing when data is copied to or from the My Book. A button lies in the center of the inner ring and is used to turn the drive on/off. Each side of the My Book has a Western Digital logo in the center.
