ASUS Routers: Wireless Elegance
InsideHW.com has reviewed ASUS RT-N56U Dual-band Gigabit Wireless-N and ASUS DSL-N10 11N Wireless ADSL Modem routers

In order to create a good SOHO wireless network environment, one always has to provide reliable equipment. In order to avoid the regret of not having chosen equipment more wisely when first setting up the network (unlike some of us), make sure you look comprehensively at the current market situation. If you dont have a personal contact that would provide adequate advice, cruise the internet a little and take a look at what others are recommending. Its likely in both cases that youl end up in the default product gamma of a large manufacturer, but at times, you may be surprised by the quality of the solutions offered by other familiar names in the IT field. This is one such occasion, and weve had the chance to thoroughly examine two of ASUS wireless solutions, namely DSL-N10 (modem/router) and a dual-band router RT-N56U...

Thermaltake MAX 5G 3.5-inch USB 3.0 External HDD Enclosure Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Thermaltake MAX 5G 3.5-inch USB 3.0 External HDD Enclosure

USB 3.0 has a lot of promise for devices that need large amounts of bandwidth. So far we've only been given a glimpse of what the specification has to offer. The big marketing claim for USB 3.0 has always been 'up to 10x USB 2.0 speeds', but in our real world testing we've only been able to achieve around 200MB/s. With USB 2.0 topping out at around 35MB/s on a good day, 10x USB 2.0 has yet to be achieved. There are several reasons for this, but what it really comes down to is PCIe bandwidth and what current chipsets are able to make available after all those video cards, SATA, eSATA and USB ports take up. On top of the bandwidth limitations is the current crop of USB 3.0 controller and bridge chips. Many do not offer the 10x bandwidth we have been promised.

Late last year Crucial sent over several RealSSD C300 256GB drives to use for testing our storage products. The RealSSD C300 was the fastest drive available on the market at that time, and to this day is still considered one of the fastest SSDs money can buy. The C300 allows us to push products to their limits and find the ceiling of performance. As we stated, USB 3.0 on our X58A-UD7 has been limited to around 200MB/s....but that was before the Thermaltake MAX 5G graced us.

Thermaltake set a new standard for creativity and design when they introduced the original Level 10 case at Computex in 2009, but many PC builders couldn't afford the $800 price tag. The release of the Level 10 GT shows Thermaltake's commitment to the enthusiast community and does it at a more competitive price of $280 at most retailers.

Noctua NF-P14 FLX Fan Review
eTeknix.com posted a review on the Noctua NF-P14 FLX Fan

Case fans used to all be a standard size and to a large extent exactly the same from whichever manufacturer you purchased it from. This size was of course the 80mm fan which is still the dominant size in today's market, but with a much smaller share. As you are probably aware fan sizes have increased dramatically and the fan we are looking at today is a whopping 140mm fan, nearly twice the diameter of its predecessors.
120mm fans have become all the range with gaming cases, with most cases being able to incorporate at least 2 of these already quite large fans, but recently with the introduction of turbine cases we have seen sizes up to 220mm fans. While positioned on top of the computer this size fan may lead to it hovering above the floor if it were to be turned up to a high enough speed. Joking aside, larger fans of course have huge advantages as they are able to shift more air at a lower rpm (revolutions per minute). The scale is also not linear and as such a 120mm fan is usually agreed to be well over 2* more efficient than an 80mm fan. This of course leads to quieter motors and less air noise. So a 140mm fan ought to have the capacity for huge air flow at a nearly inaudible volume.
Noctua are an Austrian based premium cooling manufacturer, concentrating primarily on quietness while giving exceptional performance. Their products range from CPU Coolers for both retails and servers to case fans and thermal compounds – they are not the most diverse of companies but have concentrated their expertise to a very small range with usually very impressive results.
