Corsair Force Series 100GB SandForce 1200 SSD Review
Legit Reviews posted a review on the Corsair Force Series 100GB SandForce 1200 SSD

It's always fun to have a peek at the guts and we are more than happy to crack open the Corsair Force Series 100GB SSD so you don't have to. Peeking inside, the Sandforce SF-1200 controller lies more or less in the middle of the PCB flanked by the Micron MLC-NAND flash chips. Notably absent is the DRAM cache which is unneeded due to Sandforce's DuraClass technology. The cost of the controller is partially offset by the lack of dedicated DRAM which is good because Sandforce controllers are not cheap. We'll see if the absence of this has an impact on performance but this is the reason for the 100GB capacity rather than the 128GB physically on the drive. The layout is the same as other Sandforce-based SSD's we have seen recently but if you look closely, visible is the Corsair brand along the PCB's edge...

Ventec SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card Review
OCModShop posted a review on the Vantec SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card

The Vantec SuperSpeed USB 3.0 card is definitely fast. It can supply enough bandwidth for SATA hard drives to work at their full potential, and works much be tter than the chipsets on many motherboards. While testing USB flash sticks in our test labs, we have discovered that the quality of the chipset on the motherboard greatly affects the USB throughput. Even if you don't need the extra bandwidth right now, the NEC D720200F1 chip on the SuperSpeed card provided the best performance we have seen on all of our existing USB 2.0 devices. So if you think you're not getting the most out of your USB devices, then it's probably your motherboard's USB chipset and you may want to upgrade to the new technology.

I would recommend Vantec's SuperSpeed USB 3.0 card to any PC enthusiast, but I have a few improvements for the next generation of cards

ProlimaTech MK-13 Multi VGA Cooler Review
OCC has published a review on the ProlimaTech MK-13 Multi VGA Cooler

Overall, the ProlimaTech MK-13 provided solid performance when equipped with any of the three configurations of fans and was able to operate quietly or provide the best cooling out of the three heatsinks tested. Personally, I would equip it with some form of fan control so that it can be adjusted between quiet and performance mode on the fly with a good pair of fans. With higher end cards like the HD 5870 testbed, you will need to use fans since running passively is just not an option in a standard case.

A-DATA Nobility N002 128GB USB 3.0 + SATA-II Portable HDD
TweakTown takes a look at the A-DATA Nobility N002 128GB USB 3.0 + SATA-II Portable HDD

USB 3.0 is capable of transferring data faster than the SATA II interface, so for the most part we expect to see performance that is on par with SSDs running similar controllers. So far we have not had luck with this assumption, but NEC has a new driver for their USB 3.0 controller and I am told it fixes the SSD shuddering issue with USB 3.0; we shall find out today.

Previous experience aside, today’s article is all about the new N002 128GB USB 3.0 Portable SSD from A-DATA. A-DATA has been on a roll with their solid state products; just recently we reviewed their first SandForce controlled SSD, only the second we had come across with the new SF-1200 controller. The A-DATA N002 at first glance appears to be a standard SATA II Indilinx Barefoot based solid state drive. Once you get a glimpse of the side, though, you see the USB 3.0 power and data port and that is when things start to get interesting.

Rosewill RX358 USB 3.0 Hard Drive Enclosure Review
OCModShop posted a review on the Rosewill RX358 USB 3.0 Hard Drive Enclosure

SuperSpeed USB (otherwise known as USB 3.0) is a new standard for PC peripheral connectivity. Although Intel has been hesitant to make this interface truly standard, more and more vendors are including the technology on their motherboards, and you can even purchase add-on cards to upgrade your current system. The increase in data transfer naturally lends itself to increased hard drive performance, and PC equipment manufacturers are now revealing hard drive enclosures featuring USB 3.0. Rosewill has been making good PC peripherals for several years, including external hard drive enclosures. They have recently introduced their RX358 USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure, which promises the ease of USB with the data capabilities of SATA.

Gateway FX 6831-03 Gaming Desktop PC Review
TechSpot posted a review on the Gateway FX 6831-03 Gaming Desktop PC

While many hardcore gamers and hardware enthusiasts will tell you it's better to build your own rig, some still choose to go with a custom-built model from a recognized brand name. These often come attached to higher premiums, but also to comprehensive customer support and warranties covering the entire system, plus the peace of mind of not having to deal with any troubles that may occur while assembling it piece by piece.

The FX6831-03 on our test bed today features an Intel Core i7 860 processor operating at 2.8 GHz (up to 3.46 GHz with Turbo Boost), a whopping 16GB of DDR3 memory, 1.5 TB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive and an ATI Radeon HD 5850 graphics card with 1 GB of onboard memory.

Priced at around $1,650, the Gateway FX6831-03 is aimed at those who want a very capable gaming system that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It is more of a "budget" system in the larger arena of gaming rigs, which can cost you upwards of $5,000, but its hardware should be able to deliver enough performance to handle any game you throw at it with little effort. Read on as we put this system through its paces and explore its features inside and out.

Mionix Naos 5000 Laser Mouse review
APH Networks posted a review on the Mionix Naos 5000 Laser Mouse

It is quite hard to believe that is has been over two years since we last took a look at any mice that are on the market! The most recent one is the Logitech G9 review, which our Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Kwan have written about way back in November of 2007. After two long years, we are back with a brand new computer mouse review, presented by yours truly. "A star has been born" is a prominently advertised slogan on Mionix's product page -- and that 'star', unsurprisingly, happens to be the Mionix Naos; as this product is named after a star of the same name. The star Naos is said to spin a hundred times faster than the Sun, alluding to the speed factor of this mouse under the same name. The numeric '5000' designation at the end of the product's name represents the 5040 dpi sensor, and like all marketing tactics, they took the round number in order to make it easier to remember as well as sounding better at the same time. With all the large scale references to planets, Mionix even goes deep into looking for perfection with this mouse. Many companies advertise excellence, but as experienced users would know, perfection is quite hard to come by these days. Our Arctic Cooling Arctic Sound E352 review written last week is a good example (Actually, it is quite the opposite of perfection, haha). To be honest, I have not heard of Mionix before this review, but word on the street is that they are an excellent gaming peripherals manufacturer. Their marketing direction is also very similar to established, well known gaming companies, and this bodes well for this Mionix as well. So, without further delay, let's get straight into today's review and see how close to 'perfection' the Mionix Naos 5000 reaches.

Plustek OpticFilm 7600i SE Film and Slide Scanner Review
TestFreaks posted a review on the Plustek OpticFilm 7600i SE Film and Slide Scanner

Today we are reviewing the Plustek OpticFilm 7600i SE scanner. It is a negative film and slide scanner. For you completely digital people out there I'll explain: Film is an analog way of capturing an image. Instead of a digital sensor collecting photons there is a light sensitive emulsion onto which the light is shone. Then, through a chemical process, the film is developed to create the final image. From this image we can make prints. To get the image into the computer it has to be scanned. That's what we have film scanners for.

BCW published a review on the 3M MPro150 Pocket Projector

3M's MPro15 is a cool piece of gadgetry which any tech-savvy business professional will love. It's no bargain, but it is an easy way tomanage your common business files. And because it's cordless, there's no need to pack a separate laptop or projector so you can travel a lot lighter. The downside is that its display size is limited to 50-inches, it's not very bright, and its built-in speakers aren't loud enough to wake those nodding off at the back of the room. Nevertheless, it probably is good enough to let you leave your laptop at home.

Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler Review
OCIA.net has posted their review of the Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler

The cooler we have for review today, the Thermaltake Frio, has been designed to handle up to 220w of thermal design power and is fully compatible with six core processors. With five large 8mm heatpipes set into a wide copper base, and supporting all of the major socket types, both Intel 775/1156/1366 and AMD AM2/+/3, the Frio is ready for maximum performance. A tower style cooler with dual 120mm fans setup in a push/pull configuration, mounted to 48 0.5mm thick aluminum fins and a bolt-through socket mounting show that the Frio means business. At over 1,000 grams, this is certainly no light-weight contender.

As the mobile device market grows, so does the number of users who use smartphones to search and access Internet. They’ve been using Windows Mobile or Symbian platforms for that most of the time in recent years, and even iPhone since not that long ago. However, in order to keep the product gamma complete, alongside the large number of phones running on Android that have appeared during the past year or so, Google was expected to come out with its own telephone product…
