MSI 890GXM-G65 Motherboard Review
iXBT Labs has posted a review on the MSI 890GXM-G65 Motherboard

MSI released a definitely interesting motherboard. Consider it, if you have no prejudice towards microATX form factor, and if you're going to use as few expansion cards as possible. With this motherboard you can build a variety of PCs, including powerful gaming rigs with a couple of high-end graphics cards and a quad-core CPU.

Lenovo ThinkPad X100e Review
TechReviewSource.com takes a look at the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e

One of the first things that you'll notice from Lenovo's ThinkPad 100e is the color: race car red! Though - you could of course order it in black - the question you should be asking yourself is "Is it a netbook or an ultra portable?" All in all, the answer seems to be a little of both. The ThinkPad is faster than most netbooks, has a large, high-resolution screen, a spacious keyboard and a bigger hard drive than you'll usually find in laptops. However, it's a bit on the heavy side and also prices higher than most netbooks.

Gigabyte Radeon HD 5670 1GB Video Card Review
Legit Reviews posted a review on the Gigabyte Radeon HD 5670 1GB Video Card

Buying a $400 graphics card is certainly not where the majority of people are when it comes to building their own systems. The fact is that the best selling video cards are still in that $100 and under price range. Today, we look at a card that falls into that category, the Gigabyte HD 5670. Read on to see how it compares to the NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT, which was a very popular card a couple years back!

So, as you get ready to look at making your upgrade from the card that cost you $100 two years ago to a card that costs you $100 today, what kind of performance increase can we see? Actually, for the investment of $109.99 plus shipping, the Gigabyte Radeon HD 5670 is a pretty nice upgrade. It is certainly a faster card that allowed us to see some decent gains in frame rate, but it also was an upgrade that brought in some new features with being DX11 compatible. Other features like 1GB of GDDR5 memory, being able to run three panels, HDMI out and DirectCompute help make this a card that is just a step above many of the other offerings in this price range, and it certainly is a big upgrade from the previous generation $100 card that we tested against...

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 Overclocking with Voltage Adjustment
TweakTown posted an article on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 Overclocking with Voltage Adjustment

The fact that MSI offered Voltage Adjustment to the new GeForce GTX 480 video card in the release though, very much does. Voltage Adjustment on video cards has become such a big thing these days; companies offering such good cooling options mean that the video cards can handle a bit more voltage, which in turn is offering some outstanding performance increases.

MSI have done extremely well; anyone who's overclocking is using their software and in every screenshot you're seeing the MSI logo, no matter what card you're using. A constant flow of updates and people wanting to get the most out of a video card means we're seeing it so often. These days when someone asks what do I use to overclock my video card the chances are they're being told MSI Afterburner.

Mionix Naos 5000 Laser Mouse review
APH Networks has published a new review on the Mionix Naos 5000 Laser Mouse

It is quite hard to believe that is has been over two years since we last took a look at any mice that are on the market! The most recent one is the Logitech G9 review, which our Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Kwan have written about way back in November of 2007. After two long years, we are back with a brand new computer mouse review, presented by yours truly. "A star has been born" is a prominently advertised slogan on Mionix's product page -- and that 'star', unsurprisingly, happens to be the Mionix Naos; as this product is named after a star of the same name. The star Naos is said to spin a hundred times faster than the Sun, alluding to the speed factor of this mouse under the same name. The numeric '5000' designation at the end of the product's name represents the 5040 dpi sensor, and like all marketing tactics, they took the round number in order to make it easier to remember as well as sounding better at the same time. With all the large scale references to planets, Mionix even goes deep into looking for perfection with this mouse. Many companies advertise excellence, but as experienced users would know, perfection is quite hard to come by these days. Our Arctic Cooling Arctic Sound E352 review written last week is a good example (Actually, it is quite the opposite of perfection, haha). To be honest, I have not heard of Mionix before this review, but word on the street is that they are an excellent gaming peripherals manufacturer. Their marketing direction is also very similar to established, well known gaming companies, and this bodes well for this Mionix as well. So, without further delay, let's get straight into today's review and see how close to 'perfection' the Mionix Naos 5000 reaches.

SSD Benchmark Tests: SATA IDE vs AHCI Mode (Updated)
Benchmark Reviews updated their SSD benchmark tests

In a recent Benchmark Reviews technical article, SSD performance was tested in AHCI and IDE mode using only the HD-Tune software to produce results. It wasn't intentional, but our test results were flawed by this single-threaded benchmark tool, and our conclusion did not properly illustrate IOPS performance. In this article, Benchmark Reviews tests the latest JMicron, Indilinx, and SandForce SSDs using a combination of tools to illustrate the true difference between SATA IDE and AHCI-mode, and demonstrates how one SATA mode is better suited than the other.

Kingston SSD NOW V Series 128GB Review
OCC has published a review on the Kingston SSD NOW V Series 128GB

The read speeds easily met the 200MB/s read speed rating of the drive, while the write speeds fell short of the 160MB/s. The benchmark numbers just give an idea how the performance should stack up between drives. What really matters is how the drive feels when you are using it. The use of a Jmicron controller initially was a concern, but after using the drive in my HP Mini netbook, the drive met my expectations and more. The drive's performance was fluid and did not suffer any stuttering.

Overclocking GeForce GTX 480 with extra GPU voltage
The Guru of 3D posted an article about overclocking GeForce GTX 480 with extra GPU voltage

Yesterday we released an update of AfterBurner, we implemented and thus added voltage control for the 470/480 cards in MSI AfterBurner revision 1.6.0 beta 4 and upwards. Now as you guys probably know the default clock frequency for the GeForce GTX 480 is 700 MHz on the core, 1400 MHz on the shader domain and 3700 MHz on the memory.

With an additional voltage we where able to push close to 850 MHz on the core. The first group of people that will really benefit from what we'll show you today are the people that opt a liquid cooled GeForce GTX 470 or 480. Well read the next couple of pages with a step-by-step guide and then we'll show some results based on our overclock experience.

Definitive 2TB HD Roundup: WD, Seagate, Samsung
HotHardware.com posted a round up of 2TB hard drives from Western Digital, Seagate, and Samsung.

Lately, it feels like the good, old, reliable hard disk drive (HDD) doesn't get any respect. When it comes to storage, Solid State Drives (SSDs) are getting all the attention these days--and it's no wonder, considering the speed, durability, low-power, and silent-running attributes of current solid state drives. But SSDs are also very expensive and offer relatively low-capacities when compared to traditional HDDs. The vast majority of systems that use some sort of fixed drive for storage----be they desktops, workstations, or servers--still use HDDs. And when it comes to maximum storage capacity in a 3.5-inch form factor, you simply can't get any higher these days than a 2TB HDD.

In this roundup we take a look at a total of nine 3.5-inch, SATA, 2TB hard drives, from Samsung, Seagate, and Western Digital....
