TechwareLabs has published the first part of their Project Spiderman 3 Case Mod

With the new Spiderman 3 movie coming out, we've decided to make a Spiderman case with the Venom ooze. This is part 1 of a 3 part project in which we will transform this case into something that looks entirely different. One of our favorite things to do is make superhero cases, and we haven't done a Spiderman case before. We plan to use zinc sheet metal to cut out the Spiderman spider, as well as black caulking for the Venom ooze and the chrome webbing. Since This case has a mesh front with a space before the fan in the front, we're going to put a Spiderman "3" in front of the fan with a brushed steel effect.

Project PDA posted a new article "Four Hot Must Have Gadgets: Cool Mobile Technology"

A cordless phone that puts high profile encryption software to use to prevent snoops from listening in on your phone calls. This type of technology was previously available, but you had to bug a room and then stay in that room with your cordless. Now you can roam to your hearts content, and you won't have to worry about privacy.

PureOverclock posted a review on the MSI 8600 GT OC Edition

Its main problem (and that goes for all 8600 GT and GTS cards) is the X1950 Pro, which offers a very similar package bar DX10 support. These cards certainly are not in a dominant position right now, they are merely "competitive".

PC Stats posted Biostar TA690G AM2 AMD 690G Motherboard Review

On the whole, this little motherboard comes with a lot of what you need to make a killer HTPC with the least possible investment. The Biostar TA690G AM2 has the all important HDMI output, the AMD 690G supports HDCP, and even an S-video TV-output is available. Talk about the multimedia options. The only caveat being that just one digital, and one analog option can be used and any time... so if you're hoping for concurrent DVI, Analog, HDMI, S-Video output you're not going to get that.

DragonSteelMods posted a review on the CoolIt Freezone CPU Cooler

Liquid cooling is very popular now, at one time it was more of an enthusiast only cooling option, but today many companies make liquid cooling kits for the DIYers out there. The more extreme enthusiasts use TEC cooling to really lower their temps for higher overclocks. So what do you get when you combine TECs and liquid cooling, and a company that wants to make it much easier for everyone to have top of the line cooling? You get the Freezone from CoolIt! The Freezone combines the best of everything, liquid cooling, TEC modules and a compact, easy to install system that anyone can utilize to make their system nice and cool. I installed the Freezone in both my Intel and AMD setups and took it for a spin to see what it could do, so continue on to learn more...

Legit Reviews posted a review on foneGEAR’s Mini Blu Bluetooth Headset

The Mini Blu is not exactly going to turn heads when you walk down the street, nor will it get you to the front of the line at your favorite club in Miami…then again, you aren’t walking around with a phone booth on your shoulders either. However, foneGear has produced a very nice looking Bluetooth headset that is designed for people who want something small and functional.

TrustedReviews posted a review on the Canon Digital IXUS 70

The IXUS 70 has, to say the least, a striking design. Apparently modelled after the original IXUS APS film camera, its shape is a very minimalist plain rectangle, with the lens, the monitor screen and all the rear panel controls mounted smoothly flush with the body. People to whom I showed the camera while I was testing it were divided pretty evenly between those who though it looked cool and stylish, and those who thought it was ugly and boring, which just goes to show that there’s no pleasing everyone.

TrustedReviews looked at the two nVidia GeForce 8600 GTS from MSI and Leadtek

Well, at last we no longer have to make that decision as nVidia has stepped up to the plate and announced three new DirectX10 products, the GeForce 8600 GTS, GeForce 8600 GT and GeForce 8500 GT. Priced from $229 all the way down to $89, these cards now mean that everyone has at least one DX10 capable option, whatever their budget. All we need now is for ATI to provide us with some competition!

While all three cards were announced last week, nVidia has said that the 8500 GT and 8600 GT won't be available immediately and the 8600 GTS was the only card to truly 'hard launch' last week. So, today we're just taking a look at a pair of these cards.

XSReviews has reviewed the Corsair Voyager GT 8GB

USB drives have become the norm, with many of us carrying them round on our necks; the floppy disc is officially dead due to the huge amounts of data that can be transferred and easily using USB. However, not all pen drives are created equal and today I have the speedy Corsair Voyager GT which boasts 8GB of storage and quick snap transfers.

Neoseeker has published a review of Gigabyte's 680i based N680SLI-DQ6

The overclocking potential of this board is excellent - with a 7X multiplier I was able to reach a stable 485MHz FSB, which while not as high as the 505MHz FSB I saw on an Asus P5B-E Deluxe is still an excellent result

Don't get me wrong though, I did manage to get to a stable 485MHz - but I had to jump through proverbial hoops to get there, including having two 12c
63CFM fans blow on the passive chipset heat pipes.

APH Networks posted a review on the Asus EAX1950PRO (ATI Radeon X1950 Pro) 256MB video card

The immense diversity of graphics cards is already overwhelming -- never mind the excess of board manufacturers based on the same chipset. In most cases, the manufacturer has to build a graphics card based on ATI or NVIDIA's reference design, leaving minimal variation between, say, a BFG and EVGA card. The most prominent difference that companies like to set themselves above other units is the implementation of performance memory chips, pre-overclocked RAM and core, or large, quiet heatsinks. To what we've seen today, our review unit of Asus' EAX1950PRO (Basically an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro) with a large, double slot heatsink/fan is what we will be taking a look at. Is it quiet? Is it cool? Is the price competitive? How's the performance? Let's investigate these factors in our review today.

Hardware Secrets posted a review on the OCZ HydroJet CPU Cooler

OCZ is going to launch a new self-contained liquid cooler for CPUs, called HydroJet. Physically it appears to be a big conventional CPU cooler, but on the inside it is a complete sealed water-cooling system in just one piece. The main advantage is that you will have the performance of a water-cooling system but without going thru the hassle of assembling a complicated system or having tubes carrying liquids inside your PC. We had the opportunity to take a look on the prototype for this product, so let’s take a look on what the forthcoming HydroJet CPU cooler looks like.

Bigbruin.com posted a review on the Thermaltake LANBOX VF1000BWS mATX Case

The rear exhaust fans draw air in through vents on either side and the top, while the intake fan helps out by pushing filtered air in through the front. Despite the dual 60mm exhaust fans and the one 90mm fan in the front, the Thermaltake LANBOX VF1000BWS mATX Case remains extremely quiet while providing sufficient cooling to the internal components.

ThinkComputers.org posted a review on the Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 500GB USB External Hard Drive

I have always been a fan of external hard drives. Especially a few years ago when Windows XP first came out, because one day you would turn your computer on and Windows would crash and you ended up having to reformat. So having all of my files on an external drive was very important. Fast forward to today and there really is not that problem, but external drives are more popular than ever. The main reason is because the availability of media has grown. You can now download movies, TV shows, and music very easily and legally! So you need someplace to store all of the media and what better place to do that than an external hard drive. Today we will be taking a look at the Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 500GB USB External Hard Drive

The TechZone reviews the Samsung CLP-300 Colour Laser Printer

The Samsung CLP-300 colour laser printer brings to the table speeds of up to 17ppm for black and 4ppm for colour, and a promised resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi effective output. All this is compacted into a package whose
footprint isn't much bigger than a large inkjet printer. To achieve this diminutive size, Samsung uses some clever tricks in the design of their toner cartridges. Samsung does purport that the CLP-300 outputs "near photo quality" images, and statements like that tend to make us wonder "how near are we talking?" That being said, initial impressions of the printer (the out-of-box experience) were ok overall. You can expect us to go far more in-depth later on.
