OCZ Quad 2Gb Memory Kit Review - 8Gb of Platinum Goodness
Madshrimps posted a review on the OCZ Quad 2Gb Memory Kit

With the introduction of Vista, 2 GB of memory suddenly seems insufficient. Many people have made the jump to 4 GB lately, but on a 32Bit operating system, more is definitely overkill. Today we happen to have a 64 bit operating system installed on our test system, so there's no stopping us from fully loading our P35 motherboard with... 8 GB of memory. And we even managed to overclock it!

Gigabyte AirCruiser GN-WI06N-RH Review
Phoronix takes a look at the Gigabyte AirCruiser GN-WI06N-RH

Last month we had looked at the Gigabyte AirCruiser N300 GN-WI30N-RH 802.11n WiFi adapter. The wireless adapter uses the Ralink RT2860 chipset, which doesn't have a Linux driver in the kernel, but we were able to easily get this 802.11n wireless adapter working with Ubuntu when using ndiswrapper and the Windows driver. Today we have our hands on the Gigabyte AirCruiser N300 Dual GN-WI06N-RH, which is a PCI Express Mini-Card with dual-band 802.11a/b/gn support. How well does this Atheros-based WiFi card work on Linux? We'll tell you in this review.

Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 & QuickCam Pro for Notebooks
HardwareLogic posted a review on the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 & QuickCam Pro for Notebooks

Webcams are continually evolving. Those of you that claim to be 'old-school' remember well the blurry and pixelated pictures that used to stream from one webcam to another. My how times have changed. With ISPs stepping up to the plate with increased bandwidth, both upload and download, users need not make so many concessions with video quality (we're talking to you, YouTube!). Computer enthusiasts are calling out for clear and crisp video recordings for their newly built rigs, and companies like Logitech are trying to answer that call.

ASUS LS201 20" LCD Monitor Review
HotHardware posted a review on the ASUS LS201 20" LCD Monitor

Earlier this year we stumbled upon a widely circulated You Tube video (at least in tech circles), in which a man is seen ruthlessly abusing a poor LCD monitor. The protagonist starts by letting a child draw on the screen with a black permanent marker. Taking matters into his own hands, the man then proceeds to take a pen-knife to the surface of the screen, followed by multiple strikes with a hammer. The abuse of a perfectly good LCD monitor isn't what struck us about this particular video, however. The unique element that caught our eye and set it apart from similar videos is that the LCD monitor survived the episode completely unscathed. The monitor was ASUS' LS201.

USB 2.0 Extension Cable to Cat5e or Cat6 Extender Adapter
DragonSteelMods posted a review on the USB 2.0 Extension Cable to Cat5e or Cat6 Extender Adapter

As a computer geek, there have been times, where I needed a long run of USB cable. However, most standard USB cables measure from four to eight feet in length. What if you needed a longer stretch of USB cable? Well, the folks at USBFever have the perfect solution for this dilemma. If you have a spare Cat5e or Cat6 cable lying around, then the USB 2.0 Extension Cable to Cat5e or Cat6 Extender Adapter is the solution to your USB connection problems. This device allows you to create a USB extension cable essentially limited only by the length of the Cat5e or Cat6 cable used. The maximum length is 150 feet, but seriously, if you need to hook up a USB device a 150 feet away, maybe you should not be using that type of device.

Cooler Master Z600 and Sphere CPU Coolers Review
Bigbruin.com has posted a review on the Cooler Master Z600 and Sphere CPU Coolers

Everything is big with the Z600.... The height, width, weight, heatpipes, and even the thickness of the fins. It is capable of providing incredible cooling results when used with either one or two low speed 120mm fans. Adding higher speed fans might create some extra noise to live with, but I can imagine that the temperatures could be ridiculously low.

The fastest single-GPU card from AMD is still the Radeon HD 3870 and continues to struggle to stand up to the increasing competition from NVIDIA. Diamond is attempting to bump up the GPU's performance by increasing the frame buffer to 1GB - but can it help performance at all?

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 Graphics Card Review
Digit-Life posted a review on the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 Graphics Card

Time has come for the long-awaited announcement of the dual-GPU card NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2, which unites the power of two G92 GPUs into a single solution. Unlike AMD, with its multi-GPU CrossFire solutions for the top price range, NVIDIA does not seem to give up the single-GPU future for its graphics cards. The card we shall review today should outperform AMD RADEON HD 3870 X2, which was the fastest card since this January.

LapLogic Aerogel Extreme LapDesk Review
I4U NEWS reviews the LapLogic Aerogel Extreme LapDesk.

Today we are taking a look at a pair of notebook desks from LapLogic. Both the Aerogel Extreme and the Aerogel Extreme Wide have the same features and do a great job of keeping the heat from your notebook from bothering you.

Both versions of the LapDesk are ridged and the Aerogel insulation works very well. I used the LapDesk's with several notebooks for longer than would normally be comfortable without any issues. I even used a Gateway gaming notebook in my lap for a long time and heat was not an issue. I felt none of the heat form the notebooks through the LapDesk's.

Thermolab Nano Silencer Review
OCC has published a new review of the Thermolab Nano Silencer

The Thermolab Nano Silencer was intended to be a low profile Socket 775 cooling solution for your computer, and while it does adhere to the low profile standard, unfortunately it does not cool the processor as effectively as high end heatsinks may. At stock CPU settings, load temperatures hit 61 degrees Celsius - far surpassing my comfort zone! I recorded disappointingly similar results when the overclocked E6600's load temps jumped to 73 degrees Celsius. However, the Thermolab Nano Silencer does take advantage of its design; due to the size of the unit, I was expecting much higher temperatures.

OCZ Rally2 Turbo 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Review
Virtual-Hideout posted a review on the OCZ Rally2 Turbo 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive

The Rally2 Turbo lived up to the caliber of performance we've come to expect from OCZ. This isn't just a sleek-looking drive; it's a sleek-looking drive with the transfer rates to match. With fast read and write transfer rates and a minimalist look/design, the Rally2 Turbo stands out among a crowd of "flashy" drives that don't deliver on performance. The small size and aluminum case make it a valuable device for any professional.

GIGABYTE GeForce 9800 GX2 Graphics Card Review
TweakTown posted a review on the GIGABYTE GeForce 9800 GX2 Graphics Card

The latest 9800 GX2 incarnation to make its way into the labs comes from GIGABYTE and carries with it all the standard goodies that we expect out of the 9800 GX2. The latest 9 series of NVIDIA cards have impressed us, but like we’ve said all along they haven’t offered the revolutionary jump that we thought the 9 series would offer.

With the standard clocks and cooler there isn’t going to be a whole lot out of the ordinary, but we will check out the bundle and box to see if there is anything that gets our tails wagging.

Targus Travel Power Outlets Review
ThinkComputers.org takes a look at the Targus Travel Power Outlets

When you are traveling you bring a ton of gadgets with you, I know I do. I have my laptop, cell phone, MP3 player, and digital camera with me at the very least. All of these gadgets need recharged, but it is sort of hard with the 1-2 extra outlets that most hotel rooms have. Usually I have to bring a large surge protector, that is a pain since they are huge and take up a lot of room in my carry-on. Targus has come up with the perfect solution, the Travel Power Outlets. It is a portable power strip that provides 4 outlets in a very small package.

CPU vs. GPU Review
InsideHW.com has posted an editorial about graphics cards and processors CPU vs. GPU.

Questions we ask ourselves quite often when buying a new PC are: "Should I take a cheaper processor and a slightly more expensive graphics card or vice versa?", or the legendary one, "Will this new processor choke on my graphics card" etc. Variations to these questions are without number and we would need at least a page to write them all down, but we are sure that you found yourselves in such a situation at least once.

Noctua NF-P12 cooling fan review
Elite Bastards posted a review on the Noctua NF-P12 cooling fan

Interestingly, unlike the NF-S12, the NF-P12 has been designed more specifically with CPU coolers and water cooling radiators in mind than general chassis cooling, although cases with tight fan grills are also mentioned as an ideal application for this particular fan. "Why?" I hear you ask - Quite simply, because this particular part and its nine blade design has been produced with increased air flow and pressure in mind. Overall, it finds itself with many of the same benefits as Noctua's previous fans, with a motor that should reduce torque variations to keep the fan running smoothly (dubbed the Smooth Commutation Drive by Noctua) and a self-stabilising oil pressure bearing to keep the fan both quiet and with the ability to run stably for a very long period of time without failure.

Wolfking Warrior XXtreme Game Pad Review
Futurelooks checked out the Wolfking Warrior XXtreme Game Pad

The Warrior XXtreme Game Pad is an upgraded and enhanced version of the original Wolfking Warrior. Where as the Warrior was just the WASD keys clustered together into a round pad, the Warrior XXtreme adds a round QWERTY keyboard. That with the use of the word extreme with two X’s means this has got to be better right?
