iFrogz EarPollution ThrowBax Headphones Review
Virtual-Hideout posted a review on the iFrogz EarPollution ThrowBax Headphones

Recently I was on the hunt for an affordable pair of headphones to use occasionally with my laptop. However not only did they have to be affordable, they had to sound good and look good. I really like the around the ear fit for its superior comfort and also I like the retro look with exposed frame and such, but those are hard to come by in the affordable range, until now. Upon my online research travels I fell across the ThrowBax lineup of EarPollution headphones from iFrogz. I immediately was drawn to the badass good looks and attention to detail. When I seen that they only retailed for $29.99, I was ready to try them. Then when I found them for under $20 at Amazon.com, I just had to have them. I was prepared for them to be junk, but I was delightfully surprised.

Sparkle Computer Corp GeForce GT240 512MB GDDR5 w/ Native HDMI Port Review
DragonSteelMods posted a review on the Sparkle Computer Corp GeForce GT240 512MB GDDR5 w/ Native HDMI Port

Today for review I've got a video card from Sparkle Computer Corp, it's an Nvidia based GT240 that has 512MB of ram built-in. With those specs I'm sure you can guess it's not really a card you'd want for gaming, but it has it's place nonetheless. It does feature a native HDMI port, along with both VGA and DVI ports on it, so no adapter needed for HDMI which is nice. The card is also rather inexpensive and virtually silent, it would make a good choice for an HTPC I'm sure. So read on...

NextBase 3-in-1: TV in the Car Review
InsideHW.com has reviewed NextBase SDV1102-BY portable media center

NextBase may not be a familiar name to some of our readers, but it’s considered one of the most reputable portable DVD player manufacturers worldwide. The fact that Porsche uses NextBase OEM players as a factory-default solution for some of its models, and that Setra and a few additional touring bus manufacturers use NextBase solutions for distributing film content for long bus journeys, speaks volumes about their quality. And since holidays and very interesting sports events draw nearer, a combination of a DVD player for the kids and a TV receiver for adults may very well be a perfect combo for trips…

TRENDnet TEW-648UB and TEW-649UB USB Wireless LAN Adapters Review
Madshrimps checked out the TRENDnet TEW-648UB and TEW-649UB USB Wireless LAN Adapters

The latest two Wireless USB LAN adapters from TRENDnet are very small, less than half of the size of the previous launched adapters. These fit very well in computers like Media Centers, Desktops or Laptops, without interfering with other devices in the nearby USB ports.

Intel Core i7 980X: Just Before Sandy Bridge
InsideHW.com has reviewed Intel Core i7 980X CPU

In the beginning of 2010, Intel presented their first CPUs manufactured in 32 nm lithography, therefore beginning the Tick phase. This refers to Intel’s development model, called Tick-Tock, designating two phases in development. The Tick phase means presenting a new manufacturing process developed on current architecture, whereas the following Tock phase means that Intel presents a completely new architecture…

Sparkle Gold Class 1250w Power Supply Review
OCIA.net has posted their review of the Sparkle Gold Class 1250w Power Supply

Sparkle Computer Corp, the same company that has manufactured nVidia-based video cards for many years, is now branching into the power supply market and looking to make a big splash doing so. For review today we have one of their new Gold Class power supplies in the 1250W variety. The Gold Class gets its name in part due to the 80Plus Gold rating, reserved for those power supplies exceeding 90%+ efficiency. Couple that with six +12V rails rated for 20A each and you've got a 120A claimed peak load handling capability, that's a whopping 1440W!

Thermalright Spitfire, VRM-R5 & X-Silent 140 Review
OCC has published a review on the Thermalright Spitfire, VRM-R5 & X-Silent 140

When comparing this kit to the HD5870 stock cooler, the Thermalright Spitfire, VRM-R5 and X-Silent 140 combination managed to reduce the core temperature by a very impressive 38=B0C and 29=B0C to the VRM. These temps absolutely smashed the performance of the stock cooler, but even more impressive was how the Spitfire heatsink was more efficient than the stock cooler even while being used passively. For an after-market cooler to out perform stock is great, but to do so without the use of a fan even during the most demanding situations just puts this offering in a league of its own.

Kingwin Lazer Gold 1000W Review
PureOverclock published a review of the Kingwin Lazer Gold 1000W power supply.

We're looking at the Kingwin Lazer Gold 1000W power supply, a sleek kilowatt modular unit that promises power for those on a tight budget. More importantly, however, is that it comes 80PLUS GOLD certified, a rarity to be found amongst kilowatt power supplies, with only a handful available on the market. It also comes with a very competitive price tag considering what's being offered in return here. Sounds promising.

G.Skill ECO 4GB DDR3-1333 Memory Kit Review
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the G.Skill ECO 4GB DDR3-1333 Memory Kit

In the industry of technology, brands offering similar products without innovating will not be easily adopted by the enthusiast market. If we talk about memory, then the mayor factors are frequency, latency and of course... price. Intel specifications for Core i3/i5/i7 products recommend using a maximum DRAM voltage of 1.65v. While most brands try to fit on Intel´s limits on the high side, G.Skill is trying something different. The G.Skill ECO F3 10666CL7D 4GB Dual Channel Kit is intended to run at 1333MHz with barely 1.35 volts benefiting both high-end enthusiasts who want better Overclocks and lower temps, or simply those who want to build an HTPC an every shaved watt can be the difference. Benchmark Reviews will test the G.Skill ECO kit to check if this kind of memory is able to do that difference (considering that frequency and latency are not a major factor on Intel chipsets anymore).

Sapphire Radeon HD 5550 Ultimate Review
Techgage.com posted a review of Sapphire's HD 5550 Ultimate graphics card

This past February, AMD quietly launched the Radeon HD 5550 alongside the much more touted HD 5570. At about $10 less than that card, the HD 5550 is an unusual breed. To help put all of the pieces together, Sapphire sent us its "Ultimate" edition of the card, which uses reference clock speeds, but features a very effective passive cooler.

QNAP TS-459 Pro 4-Bay TurboNAS Review
TweakTown posted a review on the QNAP TS-459 Pro 4-Bay TurboNAS

At CES Cameron and I paid a visit to QNAP’s booth to take a look at several new NAS appliances and servers the company launched at the show. Little did we know that the new product lineup would be so extensive, almost a top to bottom refresh. The first of the new dual core Intel Atom products has been here for a month now and I have to come right out and say that I am very impressed. It is a good thing too since the TS-419P TurboNAS we reviewed last year didn’t fare as well as we were hoping.

Even though the TS-419P and TS-459 look nearly identical outside, the two are completely different inside. The 419P used a Marvell processor and in our testing we felt that it and the firmware held the NAS back from performing as well as it could have. The latest run of firmware from QNAP and the new dual core Atom processor have now cleared those issues, but it comes at a higher initial cost to users. We will touch more on the cost and the additional productivity in the conclusion.
