Gelid GC1 High Performance Thermal Compound Review
Futurelooks posted Gelid GC1 High Performance Thermal Compound Review

The company in question is from Hong Kong, and goes by the name of Gelid Solutions. They are still working or their marketing side of things, and have asked that we obscure any pictures of their packaging. That being said, they do have a product ready to go, and it goes by the relatively simple name of “GC1 High Performance Thermal Compound“.

Lian Li PC-V1110 chassis Review
Bit-Tech published a review of Lian Li's PC-V1110 chassis

The V1110 isn't the most startling and jaw-droppingly amazing case we've ever seen. It didn't bowl us over and whip us up into a frenzy of drool and other juices, but nor did it disappoint us.

Boiled down the basics, the V1110 is a case with a quiet, unassuming design. If it were a man then you'd describe it as a gentle giant and praise it for its inner strength. You'd admire that this is a case with nothing to prove -- and that's something we can appreciate.

The V1110 doesn't deliver the best thermal performance we've ever seen and nor is it the quietest we've ever heard -- but it is good in both respects and manages to sandwich these successes in between a confident and simple design that'd make it a case fit for any room or décor.

It's pretty, it's a good all-round performer and the construction is through the roof. On top of all that, it's a Lian Li, which is a name many case designers have quite rightly learned to look up to. The lack of wow-factor and its price may prevent us from going over the top score-wise, but this is nonetheless a case we'd recommend you have a very good look at next time you're in the market.

Sparkle 9800GTX Review
Bjorn3D look at the Sparkle 9800GTX.

With the GeForce 9-series NVIDIA has created quite a lot of confusion. Instead of a major update it seems that most GeForce 9 cards are merely updated versions of GeForce 8 cards, and unfortunately named so you cannot figure out which card is based on which.

The GeForce 9800GTX is a perfect example. While the name implies that it is an upgrade for the GeForce 8800GTX, which it in a way is, it also is just a higher clocked GeForce 8800GTS 512 MB. You might wonder why NVIDIA didn’t just use GeForce 9 for all their G92 based cards but we may never know why.

If you read our review of the Sparkle 8800GTS 512 MB you know that we really liked the card. So it sounds logical that the Sparkle 9800GTX should be just as good, doesn’t it? Well, that is what we want to find out in today’s review as we test it in a variety of benchmarks.

P45 Sneak Peek: Gigabyte Does Spring Break In Taipei
HotHardware.com posted a preview on upcoming Gigabyte motherboards with P45 chipset

Gigabyte is so enthused by Intel's upcoming P45 chipset, it flew a multi-national crew of media from their respective home bases to its own headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan for two days of hands-on testing. During the event, Gigabyte gave us access to four SKUs based on P45 and an early look at a fifth extreme series board that will show off the P45's flexibility in a $300+ package.

We'll get the bad news out of the way first. Because Intel hasn't yet launched the P45 chipset (Gigabyte predicted the official unveiling will take place at Computex during the first week of June), none of the benchmarks we ran were allowed to be published-nor should they be, since all of the P45 boards made available at the event were based on early PCB revisions, not-quite-complete BIOSes, and Eaglelake drivers loaded onto pre-configured Windows XP partitions. Not quite the controlled environment we'd normally use. The same story goes for overclocking results, though to be honest, what we saw wasn't necessarily representative of what we'd hope to get out of shipping hardware anyway...

Saitek Cyborg Command Unit Review
OCC has published a new review on the Saitek Cyborg Command Unit

When you take a closer look at the command unit, you can see that the top four buttons are "F1" through "F4" and directly next to the "F" buttons is an LED backlight switch that allows you to either have red, green or yellow as your backlight color. Unfortunately, the red LED line on the bottom of the unit stays red no matter which setting you have the LED backlight on. The keys are very easy to push, almost too easy. Right above the joystick is a screw that you can tighten or loosen to keep the joystick in place, because Saitek allows you to move the joystick further or closer to your hand. I have big hands, so for me, the best setting was furthest away from my palm.

Intel P45 chipset - ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard preview
Elite Bastards posted a preview on the ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard based on the Intel P45 chipset

One area where P45 does get a boost is in PCI Express support, with PCI Express 2.0 functionality added to the mix to double the available bandwidth per lane for compliant devices. Also added is the ability to run two PCI Express for graphics slots with eight lanes of bandwidth available to each, or as a single 16-lane slot if you aren't running a CrossFire multi-GPU configuration. For anyone looking to run a two GPU CrossFire setup on a budget, this is great news and a definite plus over the P35 chipset this architecture replaces, which had a rather hap-hazard approach to multi-GPU operation at best.

Another change that packages itself alongside the P45 chipset launch is the introduction of the ICH10 southbridge. Again, this is more about evolution that revolution, adding a couple of Serial ATA ports (for a total of six against four in ICH9), while ICH10R (with RAID support) sees no real changes at all, supporting the same AHCI and Matrix RAID technology we're already used to.
