Never satisfied with just releasing a typical product, Sapphire now offers a variety of Radeon HD4890 cards, including the factory overclocked Vapor-X Radeon HD4890 1GB unit provided for this review. This card gives the reference design RV790 GPU a slight speed boost from 850MHz to 870MHz, while also giving the GDDR5 memory a bump from 975MHz to 1050MHz.

Sapphire HD 4890 Toxic / Vapor-X Review
techPowerUp posted a review on the Sapphire HD 4890 Toxic / Vapor-X

Sapphire's HD 4890 Toxic uses their exclusive Vapor-X cooling technology. This results in a card that delivers considerably more performance than the HD 4890 reference, yet does so without any excess noise. Actually the Sapphire HD 4890 Toxic is the quietest HD 4890 we ever had in our hands.

Today for review I've got the BlueAnt X3 Micro Bluetooth headset, and it's from our friends at The Wireless Boys. The X3 micro has a few nice features, including and most importantly, it is lightweight, for me that's a very important factor. It also has a 7 hour talk time, along with a 180 hour standby time and it includes both an AC adapter and a car charger. Being lightweight and looking good are not much if the headset doesn't perform though, so continue on to learn more...

Opera 10 beta Review
IT PRO posted a review of Opera 10 beta.

Tabbed browsing, plug-ins, rendering speed. Others such as Firefox and Safari may now crow loud about these but Opera had them first. Indeed for years it was the definitive browser for the clued-in geek, and now is forced to jostle for attention alongside fast, flashy upstarts such as Chrome. Can the new public beta of Opera 10 see off the newcomers?

ViewSonic PJ359w review
ITreviewed posted a review on the ViewSonic PJ359w

ViewSonic's PJ359w is designed for business and education users, which is evident by the way it looks. Unlike sleek consumer models that have glossy finishes and flashing LEDs everywhere, the PJ359w is very ThinkPad-like in its approach. ViewSonic has done and excellent job targeting this market with a projector that is not only small and light enough not to be a burden, but has practical features and impressive widescreen performance. The PJ359w also has HDMI 1.3 input and an incredible short throw distance. The PJ359w handles both office and home applications with little trouble and its variety of screen adjustment features let you get the best image quality every time - the auto keystone correction works a treat! It has some nifty features too, including a quick off that shuts the unit down quickly for get up and go situations. If you are looking for a widescreen 1080p projector with good image quality, the PJ359w is very good value. The only disappointment is the lack of DVI and component inputs, but that's hardly a deal breaker considering adapters are available as optional extras. More significant is the operating noise, which I found to a little too loud for comfort. Nonetheless, the PJ359w is worthy of consideration considering its ease of use and performance.

Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 Vapor-X Review
DriverHeaven.net posted a review on the Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 Vapor-X

Today we're going to be testing the Sapphire HD 4890 Vapor-X. This specific model of the 4890 slots in just above the basic card and below the Toxic edition which is clocked at slightly higher speeds. There is also an Atomic version of the card with a 1GHz core which we will be looking at shortly. Don't be mistaken though, the Vapor-X model still has fantastic potential and is supplied with a custom cooling solution, increased clock speeds and an impressive output configuration all tied together with an attractive price tag.

3M Vikuiti Netbook Filter Review
ITreviewed posted a review on the 3M Vikuiti Netbook Filter

We should all take computer privacy more seriously. I'm sure that like me, if you're sitting in a coffee shop or commuting on a train with your netbook, you don't want people glancing over to see what you're working on, even if it's just browsing the Web or updating your Facebook account. At the end of the day, the personal computer was given its name for a reason. 3M's Vikuiti privacy filters for netbooks are just as effective as those for laptops (which have been around for years by the way). They are easy to install, lightweight and work very well for what they are designed for - guarding against unwanted sideways glances from folk sitting next to you. The filters also have a couple of positive side effects: protecting the fragile surface of LCD screens from scuffs and scratches and reducing glare by up to 99%. And if you have a glossy screen and you don't like it, here's one way to get that old-fashioned anti-reflective look back. They're pricey, however, but you can't put a price on your data.

SanDisk 16GB SDHC Netbook Memory Card Review
Legit Reviews takes a look at the SanDisk 16GB SDHC Netbook Memory Card

If you were an early adapter of a netbook computer, you have likely found that the storage space available on your netbook to be inadequate. Many of the Asus Eee PC 700 and 900 netbooks shipped with just 4GB Solid State Drives (SSDs) inside, which doesn't last long at all in this age of digital media. Since these netbook models don't use or offer a traditional 2.5" notebook storage drive slot, the expansion options for increasing storage space are very limited. In case you are wondering, the 4GB SSD that comes in the ASUS Eee PC 900 and many other models is soldered on, so there is no possible way to upgrade or change it. That means you have two choices; you can either add in another SSD by opening the system, find the unused Mini PCIe slot and installing a PCI Express SSD, or for those that don't feel comfortable opening the netbook, you can beef up the storage space by placing a SDHC card into the Secure Digital slot on the side of the netbook. SanDisk really liked the latter of these two options and re-branded a couple of their regular Class 2 speed rated SDHC cards as Netbook SDHC cards last week. By installing a SDHC into your netbook and leaving it there as a new drive you’ll expand your netbook’s storage for additional videos, movies, music, large files, and more...

Direct3D Improvements In Windows 7
Tech ARP posted details on Direct3D Improvements In Windows 7

When Microsoft officially releases Windows 7 on October 22, 2009, they will be delivering to the world what they promised Windows Vista would be... with a few nifty extras, of course. So, you can't blame some folks for skipping Windows Vista and hanging onto Windows XP while Microsoft gets Windows 7 working.

Beta testers have so far been very impressed with Windows 7. It's fast and it's stable. One of the reasons is the improved graphics capability in Windows 7. Microsoft seemed hesitant in utilizing the full capabilities of the graphics processor in Windows Vista, which was a real shame. Windows 7 changes all that, and that's what we will be talking about today.

We recently got our hands on more internal documents on DirectX improvements in Windows 7, or rather how Windows 7 takes better advantage of Direct3D. Although Microsoft has publicly revealed some details on what's improved, this document reveals the details on what's improved, as well as the new Direct2D and Direct3D 11 APIs.
