The computer mouse is one of the most overlooked peripherals, in my opinion. We often upgrade everything inside of a computer but overlook one piece of hardware that is frequently used. Choosing the right mouse is a challenge because you need to balance budget, comfort, and performance. And it's especially true if you are into gaming and want a mouse that has a fast DPI (dot per inch) and is comfortable enough so that you will not feel the pain on your wrist after hours of playing games.

For average users, a mouse is just a pointing device, but for hardcore gamers having a mouse with high DPI and precision is a matter of life and death in the virtual battleground. The reality is that for even average users who are using large displays, they will also benefit from a high dpi mouse because it helps to move around the screen without much need for hand movements. Just try to move across the screen with 500 or 800 DPI mouse if you are using a 22'' display or larger and try to do the same thing with a mouse with 1000 DPI or higher and you will notice how quickly and easily you can move across the screen.

There is no shortage of mouse manufacturers. Name brands such as Logitech, Razer, and Saitek come to mind. Even some big names in computer industry, whose name that are not often associated with mice, are coming out with mice. Names such as Gigabyte, OCZ, and Microsoft. Rosewill is yet another company that has a gaming mouse that is trying to compete for your hand's touch.

The AIO-101 is a million miles away from being the perfect computer, but it could be just the ticket for someone on a tight budget that's looking for a multi-functional and easy-to-use PC. Combining a range of modest-performing components wrapped up in a transportable package, the AIO-101 is a reasonable - if expensive - effort. The machine also beats most Atom-based systems hands down for performance. As long as you don't expect cutting-edge design or performance you shouldn't be disappointed. If it was my money, I'd look more closely at ASUS' Eee Top range (from $484) or Dell's Studio One 19 (from $699).

It even includes a remote to adjust bass and treble along with controls for your attached iPod, in addition to the controls on the unititself. One last thing is that the Arion iDock can get loud, and I mean very loud, I was very surprised at the volume this little dock can reach.

Firefox 3.5 is a major improvement over Firefox 3, though casual users probably won't notice any difference. For many people, the browser wars are all about one thing: speed. There's no doubt that version 3.5 is faster than version 3, thanks to the new JavaScript engine, but it still frequently crashes - at least it does on my Vista machine running Flash-based sites. If you're a Firefox user you should definitely upgrade. Personally, I prefer the simplicity and reliability of Google's Chrome. Considering Mozilla has been working on the browser for a year, it has already announced it will patch the 1-day-old Firefox 3.5 in the next few weeks to stamp out several bugs that went unfixed in the final version. This is typical of open-source software. Firefox 3.5.1, which Mozilla intends to deliver in mid-to-late July, will include fixes for at least three bugs and 'topcrashes,' the term the company uses to describe the frequently-reported crashes. Like many applications, Firefox asks users to report crashes by displaying a prompt after the browser goes down. One of the topcrashes scheduled for a fix involves TraceMonkey, the new, faster JavaScript engine.

Asus has designed a card that uses what it calls the "Ultimate Armaments" to build a card that performs well not only at stock speeds but to push the envelope when overclocked. Lower RDS on MOSFETs that run cooler, solid capacitors for a longer service life, shielded DVI connections for improved clarity and covered chokes for cooler operation and better efficiency are the things that ASUS uses to separate its products from the reference design cards. Pricing on the reference HD 4770 cards runs anywhere from $99 to $119, which is right at the price point for many of the reference design HD 4850s, which could put a crimp in the sales of the 4770. Rumors of a shortage of 40nm chips may have prompted AMD/ATI to drop the price on the HD 4850 to keep the pressure on nVidia at this price point since really this is where the money is made for the most part. What you have in the Asus EAH4770 is a video card that performs above its price point when overclocked, delivers cooling performance without the noise penalty associated with AMD/ATI reference heatsinks and is built with high quality components for a price that won't break the bank.
