FrostyTech posted a review on the Intel Stock Core 2 Duo Radial Curved Bifurcated Fin Heatsink

The Intel RCBFH design is engineered to be cheap to produce, easy to install, and thermally efficient. This is the stock Core 2 Duo heatsink, and it is generally speaking a well designed mass-produced cooler. The heatsink uses a suspended 4-pin PWM 84mm diameter Nidec F09A-12B1S2 fan, it conforms to ATX motherboard keep-out and high recommendations, and LGA775 weight restrictions.

Hardware Secrets posted ECS AMD690GM-M2 Motherboard Review

ECS AMD690GM-M2 is a socket AM2 motherboard with on-board video based on the latest chipset from AMD/ATI, AMD 690G, also known by its codename RS690. This is the first chipset coming from the collaboration between AMD and ATI, after AMD bought ATI. We were very curious to compare its performance to the previous on-board video solution from ATI, Radeon Xpress 1100, to its main competitors, GeForce 6100 and GeForce 7025 from nVidia, and also to cheap add-in video cards, like GeForce 6200. Let’s take a look on the performance and features of ECS AMD690GM-M2.

bit-tech published a review of Zotac's GeForce 8800 GTX AMP! Edition graphics card

On the whole, Zotac's first foray into our labs has been a pretty good one. Of course there is very little differentiation, aside from clockspeeds, from most other board partners out there because Nvidia's high-end cards are all built by a third party contractor. However, what we have seen is that even a relatively new manufacturer can polish Nvidia's now nine month old GeForce 8800 GTX and create a pretty good product.

We're a little disappointed that Zotac didn't increase the shader clock speed, but considering the relatively small performance difference this isn't a massive issue. Games are becoming more shader heavy and as proven by the GeForce 8800 Ultra, the higher shader clock results in ultimately higher performance even despite a lower "core" clock.

HotHardware.com evaluate the features, overclockability, and performance of Gigabyte's over the top GA-N680SLI-DQ6 motherboard

In this article, we're going to showcase yet another Gigabyte-built mobo - the GA-N680SLI-DQ6 - that seemingly out does every other desktop motherboard in a number of key areas. How do four Gigabit LAN controllers, 10 SATA ports, 100% solid-state capacitors, and a unique wrap-around, passive, cooling apparatus strike you? And did we mention the board is based on NVIDIA's nForce 680i SLI chipset and has three full length, PCI Express x16 slots for multi-GPU action?

3D Game Man posted a review on the Sunbeam Acrylic UFO Case

The only complaint I have with the Sunbeam case is that it could use a better (and complete) instruction set. In future revisions of this case, I would like to see an additional access panel on the right side of the case so that you don't have to remove an entire side panel just to get to one side of the 5.25" bays while the left side has an easy access panel. I would have to say that our experience with the Sunbeam Acrylic UFO case has been an extremely great one. The quality of materials was very apparent. I half expect any acrylic case to be easily stripped out when installing mounting screws.

Ninjalane has just posted their review of the 650i Ultra enabled motherboard from DFI

It would seem the whole multi GPU trend has started to come full circle, while there is still a lot of enthusiast chatter over the benefits of multi GPU gaming you almost forget that you can still do some respectable gaming on a single video card. The trouble is most enthusiast motherboards are designed for multi GPU configurations with no real alternative. DFI has provided an alternative specially designed for the enthusiast and gamer that doesn't require a all out motherboard solution.

Clicking on any of the boxes next to 1 through to 11 will bring up the menu which allows you to edit the key to whichever single key you want it to be, to record a new macro (a sequence of key presses, more on this later) or a mouse button. If you choose mouse button and you get the option to define left, centre or right mouse button.

XYZ Computing has a new article out on the Zalman ZM600-HP 600W Power Supply Unit

So, what's the deal with the ZM600-HP? Zalman says "ZM600-HP is ultra-quiet power supply complies with ATX12V Version 2.2, and supports
the latest dual-core CPUs, as well as the latest dual graphic card systems (SLI)" so it looks like the type of PSU most builders are in need of. The 600W output means it is not one of the more powerful units available, in fact, it has about half the power of the high power units making all the headlines lately, but if you are looking to build a quiet computer or you are not running two high-end video cards, you don't need a 1000+ watt power supply. Plus, 600W from Zalman should mean 600W, so there is no need to compensate for a supposedly high power PSU.

SteelSeries (interchangeable with Steelpad) offers both cloth and hard surface pads. The cloth QcK series has four models of varying sizes. They all measure 2mm in thickness with the exception of the final pad - the QcK Heavy which is 6mm thick to make up for uneven surfaces.

Bjorn3D checked out the CoolIT Systems Eliminator

This review was originally intended to be released in March as so many of our readers have asked for a comparison between the Freezone and the Eliminator’s performance since we published the Freezone review. Unfortunately, the Eliminator review sample that I received had slightly little problem with the fan so I sent it back to CoolIT Systems and I did not receive the replacement sample until last week. Therefore, the review got delayed until now. Today, we will finally be able to compare the performance of the Freezone and the Eliminator.

PC Apex have a new review up on Nexus' NX-8050 500W PSU

The outside of the NX-8050 isn't flashy and it doesn't have a lighted fan or a window but it does have an attractive flat black finish, a plus in my book. On the front the fixed cables exit the housing and the connectors for the modular cables are mounted to the case. On the bottom you can see the 120mm fan used to cool the unit. On the back you will find the usual on off switch and power cable connector. There is no supply voltage selector switch as this is handled automatically by the PSU. The venting on the back is made up of a very open and attractive honeycomb pattern for plenty of air flow.

Futurelooks checks out the Antec Phantom 500 Watt Silent Power Supply

With all these 1000 million watt power supplies out there, 500 watts seems a little underrated. Well, it seems that at 500 watts, it also makes the Antec Phantom 500 under-appreciated as well. If you're all about the silent treatment, you'll want to check out this review.

BIOS Magazine posted a review on the Sony VPL-EX4

Easy to use with a practical resolution and brightness, the VPL-EX4 should suit all but the most demanding office environment. It also has environmental benefits - with its very low power consumption of 5-Watts in standby mode - along with auto standby selection, making the projector relatively eco-friendly. The only running cost is the lamp. Sony claims a lamp life of around 2000/3000 hours in high/low mode. Replacement lamps cost a not-so-cool 300. There are better projectors on the market for imaging professionals, as well as for those presenting lots of fast-paced corporate videos (the contrast ratio is just 300:1), but the VPL-EX4 looks good and it is actually pretty good value for money - a statement you'll rarely read in a Sony review.

Howtoforge published a guide about installing Zabbix on Debian Etch

Zabbix is a solution for monitoring applications, networks, and servers. With Zabbix, you can monitor multiple servers at a time, using a Zabbix server that comes with a web interface (that is used to configure Zabbix and holds the graphs of your systems) and Zabbix agents that are installed on the systems to be monitored. The Zabbix agents deliver the desired data to the Zabbix server. This tutorial shows how you can install the Zabbix server and agent on a Debian Etch system.
