It looks like Windows Vista’s first service pack is coming a lot sooner than expected. Mary Jo Foley’s reports that a Vista SP1 beta might be seeded to ‘elite’ testers and enthusiasts as early as this week and public release around November, or as vaguely described by Microsoft PR “sometime this year”. However, pundits down-under might even get their dirty “hands on” SP1 as early as August 8th at Microsoft Australia’s TechEd conference on the Gold Coast this year.

TrustedReviews have looked at the Iomega StorCenter Pro 150d
Build quality is undeniably superb but this is a very big box. It dwarfs our ReadyNAS NV appliance, standing over 6cms higher, 5cms wider and nearly 9cms deeper. It’s a lot noisier as well with the two large rear mounted fans quite intrusive on the desktop. The drives are mounted in hot-swap carriers behind a lockable front door and accompanied by a row of status LEDs to one side. The appliance sports pairs of USB 2.0 ports, fore and aft, and these can be used to connect external storage devices and a printer for sharing over the network.Iomega StorCenter Pro 150d Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the HTC P6300 Windows Mobile PDA phone
The new P6300 smartphone (around £400 SIM-free) represents a return to business-as-usual for HTC and anyone expecting iPhone-rivalling fancy pants features will be sorely disappointed. This is, pure and simple, a Windows Mobile-based PDA phone with no fancy extras, aimed at business or corporate users.HTC P6300 Windows Mobile PDA phone Review

Canonites posted 10 Reasons to Buy a DSLR Camera
One of the most common questions I get as related to photography is "What camera should I buy?" Before I get into the reasons I recommend buying a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera, I'd like to state why you should NOT buy a DSLR. There is a saying among photographers: "The camera doesn't make the photo, the photographer does." The point is that no matter how expensive your gear is, it means nothing without someone who knows how to properly use it. A great artist can create masterpieces with ordinary tools.10 Reasons to Buy a DSLR Camera
I urge you not to buy that Canon EOS 30D or Nikon D80 or [insert other DSLR model here] if you plan to leave it on full automatic mode. DSLRs are expensive light-capturing tools that can help you create some amazing images, but only if you have the time and patience to learn what you are doing and be creative. With my public service announcement out of the way, I present to you 10 Reasons to Buy a DSLR Camera:

PC Stats posted MSI P35 Platinum Intel P35 Express Motherboard Review
To say the MSI P35 Platinum motherboard overclocks well is an understatement, it's the fastest Socket 775 motherboard that PCSTATS has tested to date! It's the first board to break the 500 MHz FSB mark with a Core 2 Duo processor, and that is fantastic if you ask me. The Intel P35 Express overclocks like a monster, it's certainly an exciting time to be an enthusiast! Just remember to disable Intel EIST in the BIOS before trying to reach for the stars. ;-) Don't forget to check out the maximum videocard overclocking chart at the end, it's got to be the coolest page on the web!MSI P35 Platinum Intel P35 Express Motherboard Review

OCC has published a new review of the Logitech FreePulse Wireless headphones
The week of the fourth of July is all about celebrating freedom in the United States. This year, however, I was able to celebrate in a unique way, with Logitech's FreePulse Wireless headphones. The headphones are meant to be used on the road in conjuction with an MP3 player or other portable device. However, they can also be used with any computer or other audio player, as long as a quarter inch headphone jack is present. These headphones boast that they are lightweight, comfortable and of course, wireless. Will these headphones let freedom ring?Logitech FreePulse Wireless headphones Review
Virtual-Hideout posted Danger Den Torture Rack Review
Aside from the very cool blocks, radiators, and components, Danger Den also realized that they needed some kind of enclosure or case that would provide a better presentation. Since, most water cooling users like to show off their systems, it seemed only fit to create a clear, acrylic line of enclosures would be developed that had an original look over the contemporary square tower cases. Among their current cases are the Water Box, Water Box Plus, Danger Den Air Box, and Torture Rack. Being that I love a good, useful computer case, Danger Den has been gracious in sending VH the Torture Rack to better show you some of its great benefits and features.Danger Den Torture Rack Review
TechAddicts posted OCZ ProXStream 1000 Watt Power Supply Review

Do you have to many passwords to remember them all? Are you worried about your personal information security if someone were to steal your passwords? Sure, we all are and that's where password managers come in. Few people use password managers, instead some rely on a paper or computer file which records all of their information. The latter method is much easier compromise than most realize and leads to identity and data theft. RoboForm helps you keep track of critical information and passwords in a secure manner. Read our Review to find out if it works as well as advertised.RoboForm2Go Review
DragonSteelMods checked out an USB Micro Drive
Tiny memory cards like the M2, MicroSD and MMC micro are becoming more and more popular and very inexpensive, they are being used in many portable devices these days. One of the things with these cards is if you have a few devices that use them, you'll need to carry around a few different cables to transfer the data to and from them. That just seems like a bit much to be carrying around, so why not just get something like I have for review today from our friends at Brando WorkShop, it's called the Micro Drive, and it turns any of those tiny memory cards into a USB drive that can be used for storage or just to read the cards...Read on to check it out...USB Micro Drive Review

FrostyTech posted Akasa AK-975Cu Intel 2U Heatsink Review
The Akasa AK-975Cu is a compact little Intel socket 775 heatsink that stands no more than 77mm tall. It comes with a 70mm PWM fan that varies in speed from 1000-3500RPM, and a convenient patch of pre-applied thermal compound on its base. The cooler is based on a copper block with aluminum fins and a pair of copper heatpipes to help distribute the heat to stubby cooling fins. All joints are soldered to lower thermal resistance.Akasa AK-975Cu Intel 2U Heatsink Review
PC Apex have a look at a 2GB SD card from OCZ
The test beds for this review will be my Konica Minolta DiMage Z5 5 Megapixel digital camera and a SanDisk 12 in 1 Flash Memory Card Reader/Writer. To measure speed and performance on the computer I used HD Tach RW v.3.0.1.0. As you can see from the chart below at the lowest resolution and picture quality this card will hold an amazing 14,323 pictures and even at the highest resolution and quality it will hold 773 shots. That's the equivalent of more than 21 rolls of 36 exposure film. Please keep in mind that these numbers are calculated and can vary as you take pictures. Video ranges between 23 minutes to over 1 hour.OCZ 2GB 150X Secure Digital Card

Tweaknews.net posted A.C.Ryan AluBox ESATA/USB2.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure Review
The AluBox is cheaply priced and performs admirably. As you can see above it also looks pretty cool with its subtle blue LED indicator. Whilst I did have some issues putting it together it was nothing a little time and patience couldn't sort out.A.C.Ryan AluBox ESATA/USB2.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure Review
bit-tech published a review of three of Intel's new 1333MHz FSB processors: the Core 2 Extreme QX6850, Core 2 Duo E6850 and Core 2 Duo E6750
If you are dead set on an Intel CPU, obviously the question that Im sure is on those peoples minds at the moment is whether you should opt for the Q6600 or the E6850, which are both at similar price points. Personally, I would opt for the quad-core processor every time, but thats because Im quite a heavy multi-tasker and I often find myself short of processing time on a dual-core processor. I like to be able to continue what Im doing when Im running a processor intensive task and since most applications that youre likely to use benefit from no more than two cores.Intel's Core 2 refresh: QX6850, E6850 & E6750 tested
