Lian-Li Tyr PC-X2000 HTPC/Gaming Chassis Review
techPowerUp posted a review on the Lian-Li Tyr PC-X2000 HTPC/Gaming Chassis

Lian-Li is pulling out all the stops with the new Tyr case series. On our testbench is the X2000, which is not only the tallest case we have ever tested, but is packed with SATA backplates for six hard drives, three 140 mm fans and a long list of other features, too numerous to mention.

Preview of the AMD HD4870X2
Bjorn3D posted a preview of the AMD HD4870X2.

When AMD launched the HD4850 and HD4870 earlier this year they continued with the strategy that they had started with the HD3000-series. Instead of trying to create a really fast, and expensive, GPU and then scale it down over the following 6-12 months for other segments, AMD decided to create the best GPU for the $200-$300 enthusiast segment and then either scale it down for the entry level segment or combine more than one GPU for the hard core gamers. The reception of the HD4850 and the HD4870 has been very good and these GPU's even got NVIDIA to lower their prices quite a lot just to be able to compete.

All that really has been missing is a card that could go up directly against the GTX280 and today we are previewing the card that wants to do exactly that; the HD4870X2, codenamed R700.

Super Talent Pico-C 8gb 24K Gold USB Drive Review
DragonSteelMods posted a review on the Super Talent Pico-C 8gb 24K Gold USB Drive

Today for review I've got a bit of bling for you, we all like gold, no matter guy or girl, gold is something that signifies money, power and status in our society and has for many centuries, so how about a 24k gold plated USB drive? Super Talent has come out with a special version of their very popular Pico-C USB drive, this time they've gold plated it with 24 karat gold to add a bit of class and style to this already excellent and popular product. The Pico-C Gold is so small and looks so good that you could possibly wear it as a charm on a necklace or even a bracelet. Included with the Pico-C Gold is also a strong gold chain that can be used to attach the Pico-C to your keychain, phone or anywhere else you wish to. While the Pico-C does look good, looks aren't everything as we know, so I've put the Pico-C up against a few other popular USB drives on the market today from ATP, OCZ and Super Talents own as well.

APACK ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 Premium Review
TweakTown posted a review on the APACK ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 Premium

Even though ZEROtherm doesn’t have a long history of enthusiast products, their quality has impressed me thus far. The Hurricane HC92 won an award in our Mega 9-way VGA cooler roundup back in April. And their latest product, the ZEN FZ 120 proved to be a great performer with the added benefit of costing less than enthusiast CPU coolers. Today we will be looking at ZEROtherm’s flagship cooler; the Nirvana NV120 Premium.

The Nirvana has a small price premium over the ZEN; around 10 Dollars here in the States. Newegg currently lists the ZEN with a 10 Dollar mail-in rebate which negates the price difference. It will be interesting to see if and how much better the Premium cooler performs compared to the newer ZEN 120 that we reviewed last month.

Spire CoolFlow III Review
XSReviews has reviewed the Spire CoolFlow III

When it comes time for an enthusiast to upgrade his or her processor, it's usually quite a momentous occasion. Lots of planning goes into the perfect choice of hardware, and it's not uncommon for a cooler upgrade too; as faster usually means hotter. Therefore they usually go for something something much beefier than before -- not one which looks similar to the stock Intel model. It's odd saying that as today, we've got a Spire CoolFlow for review, which does, look remarkably similar to the stock Intel heat-sink and fan. Let's just hope it gives a boost in performance.

At Cebit earlier this year Cooler Master were displaying their new range of CPU coolers, however they were not quite ready for retail availability. That changed in May with the release of the Hyper Z600, a large but very stylish item which is designed to operate silently or in single and dual fan configurations. Today we will be running the Z600 through a number of tests using Intels X9770 CPU to establish just how good Cooler Masters new product is.

Thermalright True Black 120 CPU Cooler Review
PC Perspective posted a review on the Thermalright True Black 120 CPU Cooler

The True Black 120 CPU cooler features a solid copper base, six U-shaped heat pipes and a large aluminum fin array. Although there are physically just six heat pipes, the U-shape configuration results in six evaporator sections (where the heat pipes contact the base and absorb heat from the CPU) and twelve condenser sections (where heat is dissipated into the aluminum fins). As we will see later, this results in a very efficient heat transfer arrangement!

QNAP TS-209 Pro II Review
PC Review have a new review of the QNAP TS-209 Pro II, an advanced network attached storage device that includes features such as a webserver and bit-torrent downloader

Many small businesses and advanced home users will use some form of external storage device to backup data or store common files across a network. One of the most convenient methods of doing this is to use a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device, which allows you to access network shares from all other PCs connected to the same network. The QNAP TS-209 Pro II provides space for two SATA hard drives, providing ample storage capacity (for example, 2 x 1TB drives). However this NAS unit isn't quite as simple as just providing access to storage space, it can do a whole lot more.

Hardware Canucks posted a review of the wildly popular ASUS P5Q Pro P45 motherboard.

With this latest chipset release, ASUS has created the diverse P5Q series product line, with a total of nine different P45 models announced so far. We say "so far" only because if the company's seventeen P35-based motherboards are any indication, we can expect a few additional models down the line. The fact that ASUS offers such a vast selection of models catered to many different price points is another factor that explains the company's popularity among the D-I-Y computer crowd. The motherboard we are reviewing today is the P5Q PRO, which is squarely aimed towards the mainstream market.

Palit GTX 280 Review
OCC has published a new review on the Palit GTX 280

Each and every video card is not going to overclock to the same level, just as the same CPU will not always overclock to the same level for any number of reasons. This holds true with the Palit GTX 280. When overclocking a video card, heat can become an issue in the same way that heat can impact your ability to overclock a CPU. Fortunately, I was able to push this card slightly higher than the XFX model that I reviewed. An increase of 126 MHz on the GPU core and 176 MHz on the memory are pretty stout overclocks. These speeds represent an increase of almost 18% on the GPU core and almost 14% on the memory. While not as over the top as the 9800GTX, there is definitely significant head room to play with. Does this increase in GPU and memory clock speed equate to similar performance increases? I think it's time to find out.

Tweaknews.net has released a review on the QNAP TS-409 PRO Four Bay NAS Network Attached Storage System

It carries a hefty $600 price tag, but the TS-409 Pro is a sound investment for a home or small business network. For those who need much more than just file storage and backup, this is the NAS to get. In addition to having a central location to store and back up files this product offers hard disk monitoring, FTP, Web, and SMTP server functions, user/group management, and one touch file copy from a USB disk – and that's just scratching the surface! Everything is managed through a well organized web interface that can be accessed remotely via a secure SSL connection.

Bit-Tech published a review of Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 650W

Overall it has to be said that Be Quiet! has made a fantastic product - it works, it has supreme efficiency, excellent quality outputs, lots of cable variation (which is perfect for a modular PSU) and is damn near silent to boot. We were really struggling to find things wrong with it because it's really not /that/ expensive when you look at the whole package, and the only thing that grates us is the RMA to Germany - other companies offer better after-sales support.

TweakTown takes a look at the Leadtek WinFast GeForce PX9500 GT

If you find yourself getting sick to the stomach when you see how much cards like the GTX 280 and GTX 260 are and just can’t understand why people would spend so much money on a graphics card, the 9500 GT could be in your league. The 9500 GT, as you might have guessed comes in below the 9600 series and well below the 9800s. It’s designed for people who are looking at getting away from onboard graphics but don’t want to blow too much money.

You have to wonder with the new GTX 280 / 260 naming scheme as to why NVIDIA are still continuing to update the older 9000 series of cards. Either way, we have a new low to mid-range graphics card that’s cheap and can hopefully offer low resolution gamers something that doesn’t break the bank.

The card we'll test is an actual retail sample from the folks at Galaxy technology. This is the Galaxy GeForce 9500 GT Overclock edition by the way.

VIA Nano L2100 vs. Intel Atom 230: Head to Head
HotHardware.com posted a comparsion between VIA Nano L2100 vs. Intel Atom 230

VIA caused quite a stir a few months ago when the company first revealed initial details regarding their low-power Nano processor. At the time, the product was referred to by its internal codename of Isaiah and the president of the design center that was tasked with making the processor was decidedly outspoken, which made for some exciting reporting. When news of the Isaiah core first broke, we hopped on the line with Glenn Henry, VIA's Centaur design center president, and got many questions answered regarding the processor's architecture, features, expected performance, and the company's plans for the CPU. We also covered the official announcement of the VIA Nano processor and detailed the exact models that would be available at launch. One thing we hadn't been able to do, however, was a direct performance comparison of the VIA Nano processor versus Intel's recently released Atom, which is target at the same market segment. Thankfully, we were recently given the opportunity to take a VIA Nano reference platform for a spin to see what it could do and will be presenting our results for you here today.
