Throughout the review I was really rooting for this heatsink. I was originally optimistic at the idea of having a passive heatsink and consequently my optimism was definitely not misplaced. Thor's Hammer turned out to be everything I expected of it and it really took the cake in terms of performance compared to any other heatsink I have reviewed thus far. Thor's Hammer even beat out the TRUE by a whole degree in the idle overclocked test. To say I was amazed would be a harsh understatement. If you are honestly looking for a good silent setup, Thor's Hammer by Xigmatech is the way to go. This heatsink will run you about $64.99, which isn't too pricey either. It's only cheaper than a TRUE by $5, though I'm not too sure if it beats it out price/performance wise but it comes close than any other heatsink I've seen yet and it uses a direct heatpipe touch, which I have up until now not seen a decent performing heatpipe touch heatsink. Overall, the only con I can really speak of is the tough installation I had with it, but apart from that this heatsink performs very well.

Detailed information on all robots lower than the type you currently control can be accessed by logging onto one of the data terminals on the deck. Once a deck is cleared, the lights will dim to signify that there are no droids left.

My primary digital camera is a Fujifilm FinePix S9100. I purchased this a few years ago when a digital SLR camera system was out of out of my price range, but I wanted a capable live-view camera that didn't feel like a toy in my hands and afforded me the flexibility of manual control. It should be noted that my primary camera of choice is a Canon F-1, circa 1980. Film photography and manual focus and exposure control are my friends, but I have recognized the need for a digital solution, as not everything in my life needs to be an artistic expression. The photographs for many of my reviews have been taken with the S9100 and a Canon Speedlight. The 1500 in this review promises grown-up features for a small form-factor camera, in a lesser but similar way to my trusty 9100.

Of course the Arion 2.1 system lost out to my 5.1 system; that was to be expected. However, overall I was impressed with what the Arion offered for its $49.99 price tag. I would honestly say, compared to some other 2.1 systems that I have heard, the Eagle Arion sounds better. The subwoofer produced great sound when it came to the bottom end. That is one of the main reasons I say it sounds better than most other 2.1 systems, as most hardly have any bass at all. Compared to the 8" woofer I used in my home theater system though, there is no contest as to which sounds better, but for a little one, it does sound great. The system would make a great portable system, no doubt about that. I could never realistically take my home theater system with me, so this is where the Arion shines. The LCD screen offers up a way of adjusting the sound level and effects while up close and personal. If you don't want to get up and adjust the sound or tone controls, you can use the included remote control. If you're looking for something to complement your gaming rig, but are on a budget, this isn't a bad place to start. Or if you want a system you could use with your laptop, then this is for you.

Physically, Phenom II X2 core is a quad-core Phenom II die. Rejected quad-core dice are locked down to obtain processors with fewer cores and maximize yield. Athlon II, it turn, has the Regor die with two physical cores and no L3 cache. As a result, this die is only 117.5 mm, while Deneb takes up 258 mm. It will be interesting to see how the lack of L3 cache affects performance of the K10 core.

Hardware Secrets tested the 750 W model from Corsair HX power supply series, which is based on a DC-DC converter, promising high efficiency.

It is very important to notice that Corsair HX750W, HX850W and HX1000W have nothing to do with other models from this same series. They use a complete different (and better, by the way) design using a DC-DC converter to generate their +5 V and +3.3 V outputs, like several other high-efficiency power supplies (PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910, Antec Signature, Antec TruePower New, Seasonic M12D and Cooler Master UCP series). These HX models are manufactured by CWT, while other models from HX series are manufactured by Seasonic. Why Corsair kept the same name is a mystery. In our opinion they should have used a different name so consumers would know they are facing a different product class, targeted to users looking a power supply with high-end parts and very high efficiency.

Most heatsinks in its price range don't look as nice or have LED fans. Some of them don't even come with fans that push as much air as what is included with the Dark Knight. Mounting the heatsink was not much of a challenge like some I have had to tackle. I must say though, with as many heatsinks as there are on the market now, I am a bit disappointed that Xigmatek never gave you the option for a second fan on the heatsink. It's also the fact that in my heatsink reviews, I have only encountered one other heatsink not capable of having a second fan. This model from Xigmatek only uses 3 heatpipes in a U shaped configuration to remove the heat generated by the CPU. While this may suffice with a CPU that does not dump as large a heat load, it just did not have the ability to keep the i7 920 cool. As a stock replacement, it would do fine. But for the overclocker or enthusiast looking for temperatures much lower than the stock cooler, the S-1283V Dark Knight just did not deliver on that front.
