DFI Lanparty DK X48-T2RSB - Living Review
Clunk posted a review on the DFI Lanparty DK X48-T2RSB motherboard

t's that time again folks!

This week is going to be an unexpectedly busy week with three DFI motherboards to get through, so I figured that the best course of action is to give each board a mini living review.

First up, we have the all new DK X48-T2RSB which features a redesigned PCB, 6 phase digital PWM (more on this later), a new cooling system and several other enhancements which we will get to later in the review.

Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 Review
TechSpot posted a review on the Visiontek Radeon HD 4870

Just a month ago we reviewed the Radeon HD 4850, the value offering in the new ATI line-up, and in short we absolutely loved it. Since then Nvidia has reconfigured their pricing scheme so that you can pick up either a GeForce 9800 GTX or Radeon HD 4850 for just $200 (the 9800 GTX was previously $300+).

However, if you can spend a little more, AMD also has the Radeon HD 4870 on offer, boasting improved performance on a single GPU for about $285. Competing in the same price range are the Radeon HD 3870 X2 and the GeForce GTX 260 graphics cards, while the GeForce 9800 GX2 and GeForce GTX 280 cost considerably more.

Today we will be taking the Visiontek Radeon HD 4870 card for a spin, comparing it to all of these high-end graphics cards to see how it stacks up both in terms of value and performance.

Thermaltake NBCool T500 Notebook Cooler Review
Bjorn3D takes a look at the Thermaltake NBCool T500 Notebook Cooler.

Laptops have become compact enough to tote along just about anywhere you go. Along with that compact size comes all the heat of modern processors, and the Mobile models generally run hotter than their Desktop counterparts. This heat still needs to be removed, or it'll build up and cause a thermal shut down and damage that expensive equipment.

Although the heat is removed fairly efficiently on some laptops, it is commonly diverted towards your lap, which can get pretty uncomfortable. To prolong the life of your laptop and keep your portable computing experience a comfortable one, you might need to look at a laptop or notebook cooler like the Thermaltake NBcool T500.

Things were getting pretty warm in some spots around the Bjorn3D lab, and when Thermaltake contacted us about testing the NBcool T500 notebook cooler, we were glad to give our well-used laptop a break from the excess heat generated while churning out reviews. Heck, our laps could use a break too.

So: laptop getting hot in the wrong spot? Check out the Thermaltake NBcool T500 and see if it'll cool you off.

Tritton AX Micro TRI-BH200 Bluetooth Headset Review
DragonSteelMods posted a review on the Tritton AX Micro TRI-BH200 Bluetooth Headset

Today for review I've got the AX Micro Bluetooth Headset from Tritton, and it's a very interesting headset, unlike any I've ever seen. The majority of BT Headsets out there today have a rubber loop that goes over your ear, I personally do not care for these types as I've found they can be uncomfortable for long periods of use, but the Tritton AX Micro uses no such system to secure the headset to your ear, it actually goes in your ear and has rubber 'fingers' that push against the inside of your outer ear to hold the AX Micro in place. At first I was skeptical of this system but in my time with the AX Micro I've found it works very well and it is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The battery life is very good as is the overall sound quality...

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ Graphics Card Review
Tech ARP posted a review on the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ Graphics Card

We first covered the launch of the new NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ on June 20, 2008. Launched right after the GT 200 series of graphics cards, the GeForce 9800 GTX+ is die-shrinked version of the venerable NVIDIA G92 GPU, used in cards like the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB and the GeForce 8800 GT.

Thanks to the die-shrink from 65 nm to 55 nm, NVIDIA was able to further boost the core and shader clock speeds of the GPU by 9.3%. Everything else was unchanged, including the memory clock which remained at 1.1 GHz. Hence, NVIDIA called it the GeForce 9800 GTX+ (Plus), instead of the GeForce 9900 GTX.

GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G Motherboard Review
TweakTown posted a review on the GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G Motherboard

The first chipset to have come out in the 7 series was the 780G, the first with the next generation in onboard graphics along with HT3 support for the Phenom processors. AMD really outdid themselves; not only was it future proof, it finally introduced a good onboard graphics accelerator.

GIGABYTE has been one of the biggest producers of motherboards along with ASUS and MSI. And one thing is for certain with these three companies; above all else, if the chipset is good, you will find at least one board based on it. Today we are looking at the GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard. How does it stack up as a HTPC board? Let’s have a good look.

Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 P45 Motherboard Review
APH Networks has published a new review on the Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 P45 Motherboard

The midrange to high end motherboard market is filled with products. These 'high-midrange' boards are very popular among enthusiasts for its abundance of features, performance, and a not-too-out-of-the-world price tags. Sure, boards like the Asus Striker II NSE are really good, but not everyone can justify all the extra fancy features for the price. As major motherboard companies love to compete in this area, a significant array of boards are made based on the collection of latest chipsets -- for example, both Gigabyte and Asus have a ton of Intel P45 chipset based motherboards ranging from just over $100 all the way to over $250. Today, we'll take a look at Gigabyte's high end P45 board -- the Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 -- as the name suggests, it has Gigabyte's Dynamic Energy Saver, 100% solid state capacitors, and "Quad Bios, Quad Cooling, Quad E-SATA2, Quad Triple Phase, Quad-Core Optimized, Quad DDR2 Slots". We've already taken a look at the quad-quad-quad-quad-quad-quad Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 a few months back. The Gigabyte EP45-DQ6 is loaded with features and carrying a $250 price tag at press time, so let's see how this beast steps up against the competition.
