Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H Review
Bit-Tech published a review of the Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H

Essentially, the 790GX will fill the midrange gap where the 790X failed to gain ground - it'll offer more features and better overclocking from the new SB750 southbridge, but depending on what price the few *790FX* and SB750 boards arrive at it or whether ATI pulls its finger out in Hybrid Power, it will be make or break as to whether the 790GX is /ever/ appealing or not. There's just no point to expensive Hybrid CrossFire.

This undoubtedly affects the Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H. It's a board with some compatibility issues and even if the features are solid and at least what we'd expect, it has a decent general performance, fantastic IGP performance but basically fails in reliability. In some respects it's one of the best featured (in terms of SATA and overclocking) CrossFire board you'll find today, however given the problems we would recommend looking around to see what else is on offer.

Asus Eee PC 1000 Review
Bit-Tech published a review of the Asus Eee PC 1000

The Eee PC 1000 is a very interesting product, especially to someone like me who still uses the original Eee PC 701 regularly, but the issue with it is that Asus are obviously struggling on ways to upgrade the older models without losing the focus on web browsing and general office tasks.

Still, the sneaking suspicion remains that Asus have somehow failed to offer anything truly, greatly new with the new Eee 1000 and the impact it's made on us is definitely less than that made by the first sightings of the Eee PC 701. Maybe we're just getting old, twisted and cynical.

Lenovo's ThinkPad X200 Ultraportable Notebook, Centrino 2
HotHardware posted a detailed look at Lenovo's new ThinkPad X200.

Though it may appear that the X200 is an offshoot of Lenovo's ThinkPad X300, the ThinkPad X200 is actually more of a successor and direct descendant of their ThinkPad X61 line. This is clearly evident both in the X200's design and its specifications. Lenovo's X300 tries to be as compact and feature-rich as possible, sacrificing raw computing power to present a fully featured notebook in an amazingly compact frame. However, the X200, just like the X61 before it, takes the opposite approach, sacrificing some size and features to preserve compute power.

Built on Intel's new Centrino 2 platform, the ThinkPad X200 is well equipped with the latest technologies and powered by a standard-voltage Core 2 Duo Mobile Penryn processor. Stop on by for a look.

Acer's Aspire One netbook Review
The Tech Report posted a review on Acer's Aspire One netbook

Asus created a new category of portable computers last year when it unveiled the Eee PC—the first of the much ballyhooed netbooks. What started as a bit of a cash-in on the hype surrounding the altruistic OLPC project has grown into a pretty attractive little business. Asus has since filled this category to the brim with a variety of Eee models designed to appeal to an ever-wider audience. As Asus seeks to consolidate its position as the netbook market leader, its rivals are crashing the party hoping to get a slice of the pie before Asus hoards it all.

Chief among those rivals is Acer, whose new value-priced Aspire One netbook is springing up at almost every retailer that has an interest in computers. At this rate you'll probably be able to buy one at your local gas station before long, and it might even be cheaper than a full tank of gas by then. Retailers like a product with buzz, and here the One has the successful Eee PC's coat tails to ride in on. Unlike some of the more recent entries in the netbook market, the One is quite affordable, allowing retailers to lure in shoppers during the busy back-to-school season.

Acer recently cut its netbook prices, and the One is now turning up at a lot of resellers for as little as $329. To the untrained eye that looks like a heck of a bargain for a system with an Atom processor, a 1024x600 display, and solid-state storage. Read on to find out if it is.

Acer X193W+ 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor Review
TheTechLounge posted a review on the Acer X193W+ 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Acer isn't Samsung, but its small, sub-$200 X193W+BD should get a serious once-over by the gaming portion of the market. The size difference means fast-switching .243mm pitch pixels (in this case, smaller is better) that betray the municipal looks of this panel. At 19", it's a versatile, high-resolution display that excels in value.

NZXT Sentry LX Fan Controller Review
OCIA.net has posted their review of the NZXT Sentry LX Fan Controller

Until now, these two worlds have gone surprisingly separate ways with their cases and peripherals; the flashy-type modders had their bright, intense LCD screen fan controllers, while the classier of builders had the plain vanilla, brushed aluminum rheobus. Today, however, we have for review NZXT's Sentry LX fan controller, which hopes to break that divide. Inset in a classy, brushed aluminum faceplate is a bright, detailed screen. This has potential to be the best of both worlds.

Cooler Master GeminII S Review
InsideHW.com has posted review for Cooler Master GeminII S cooler

There were only few of us who could only guess that CPU air cooler GeminII will get its S version, just like it was the case with Cosmos case. GeminII S is possible to mount on every, at the moment, popular platform but we didn't expect anything less from Cooler Master. That implies support for Intel LGA 775 or AMD 939/940/AM2 sockets. What we really liked is traditional metal black plate that we saw on Hyper Z600 model (frankly it was necessary for previous GeminII model).

EVGA GeForce GTX 260 896MB FTW Video Card Review
TheTechLounge posted EVGA GeForce GTX 260 896MB FTW Video Card Review

The GTX 260 is exceptionally powerful, quiet, even power-miserly. It too has dropped in price--you can find them for around $200 (!) with a rebate, anyway--although EVGA's FTW is... more. However, I believe that the price premium is totally fair with the Step-Up Program, warranty, and ridiculous overclocking potential. If the 280 is a heavyweight, then the 260 is a ninja. And everyone knows that ninjas are cooler.

Corsair XMS2 DHX DDR2 800MHz 2 x 2GB Review
OCC has published a new review on the Corsair XMS2 DHX DDR2 800MHz 2 x 2GB

To start off the overclocking on the Corsair XMS2 DHX memory, I started pushing the frequency up by changing the memory dividers on the motherboard BIOS. I was able to get the memory to 1000MHz by loosening the memory timings to 5-5-5-15 and keeping the voltage at 2.1v. I did try to get the RAM to go to 1066MHz by raising the voltage to 2.2v, however it would not remain stable at 5-5-5-15. I was able to get them stable at 6-5-5-18, but the scores were lower than at 1000MHz (5-5-5-15) so that is what I stuck at. The overclocking tests will be run then at 1000MHz with timings of 5-5-5-15 at 2.1v which is a 20% overall overclock for these modules.
