Gigabyte 3D Rocket II Review
Bit-Tech published a review of the Gigabyte 3D Rocket II

Depending on your tolerance it may look a bit gimmicky, especially the "fluorescent bands" and copious use of blue plastic and LEDs, but it does include a variable fan controller none the less. That may not be a novel addition but it's extremely useful as you can install it at the front or back of a case. Installation is a bit more than just a pop in for the LGA775 socket, but it's very simple and requires minimal effort. In comparison the AMD sockets just require a single clip and you're job done. However we're still concerned about the reasonably flimsy mounting plastic bracket for LGA775 CPUs if you're transporting the case - the cooler is very tall and as such, top heavy.

So you want a gaming sound card? Creative it is then. Ah, see that's where you are wrong. Creative have recently released their X-Fi chip to Auzentech who have worked their PCB trickery into producing a card with the good aspects of the X-Fi with the window open to use Dolby Digital Live, DTS Interactive, and DTS NeoPC in the future.

Western Digital RaptorX WD1500AHFD 150GB Clear Top SATA Hard Drive Review
PC Stats posted Western Digital RaptorX WD1500AHFD 150GB Clear Top SATA Hard Drive Review

If you want the highest performance Serial ATA hard drives available, there's only one manufacturer to turn to and that's Western Digital. Its enterprise class Raptor hard drives are a hit among computer enthusiasts. The Western Digital Raptor hard drive achieves its remarkable performance thanks to the high rotation speed of its platters. At 10,000 RPM the WD Raptor is definitely one of the fastest spinning Serial ATA desktop HDD on the market, on par with enterprise level SCSI counterparts. While 7200 RPM drives are improving in performance by increasing platter density and putting larger caches on the HDD, Western Digital uses a "brute force" type method in increasing performance. It's not be the most elegant way but hey it works very well. ;-)

Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 Webcam Review
XYZ Computing posted a review on the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 Webcam

In this review we will be looking at Logitech's new QuickCam Pro 9000. This is an upper tier product and though it does not have all the bells and whistles of some of the company's other offerings it should be the type of high quality, no nonsense product that many people are looking for. This is not their smallest camera, but it is aimed at users who are looking for a great experience with HD video, proper lighting, and great sound from an integrated microphone. There are a lot of webcams available at, or under, the Pro 9000's $99 price point so choosing one can be difficult. The Pro looks great on paper but we will be taking a close look to see how it performs under actual use. Logitech has been doing a very solid job with the webcams lately so expectations are high, especially given the price of this model.

Cooler Master RC-690 Case Review
Hi-Tech Reviews.com posted Cooler Master RC-690 Case Review

We recently had the opportunity to be one the first US review sites to examine Cooler Master's new Cosmos 1000 enclosure. If you have picked up any computer magazines such as Maximum PC, Computer Power User or PC world you have no doubt seen pictures of this outstanding enclosure.

Cooler Master introduced a number of different enclosures at about the same time that the Cosmos 1000 was released, and one of them happens to be the case we are reviewing today. The Cooler Master RC-690 has a price point towards the lower end of the scale but if does not sacrifice all the cool features we have come to expect from Cooler Master. So come on along as we check out this great addition to Cooler Master's line-up.

D-Tek Fuzion GPU and Uni-Sink Review
techPowerUp posted a review on the D-Tek Fuzion GPU and Uni-Sink

Before the next generation of GPUs is released, we must deal with NVIDIA's flag-ship card, the 8800 Ultra, and the massive amounts of heat it produces. There are several air cooling options available, but enthusiasts will surely select water cooling. The D-Tek Fuzion GPU block offers versatility, and coupled with the Uni-Sink it should be a great solution for cooling 8800 Ultra and GTX cards. Is it the same in practice as in theory?

Icy Box IB-220U-Wh 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure Review
APH Networks has published a new review on the Icy Box IB-220U-Wh 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure

Summer has come and passed, the innocent can never last. Wake me up, when September ends..." That's right people, it is September already. For those who are continuing to pursue their education, or just returned from summer holidays and getting back to work, here's a review just for you: A great looking 2.5" IDE hard drive enclosure. Why 2.5" IDE? Chances are that, if you are like me, you probably have some old laptops lying around. My old Dell Inspiron 8200 that died last year still has a fully functional 40GB 2.5" PATA disk. Removing it and putting it into an enclosure would prevent it from going to waste. Not only that -- with the Icy Box IB-220U-Wh, it would make it look better than ever before. What makes us say that? Even if you don't feel like reading today because of the lazy summer, check out the photos. The Icy Box IB-220U-Wh will even remind you of something very familiar. And that could be a good thing too!

OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Quad Kit Review
OCIA.net takes a look at the OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Quad Kit in their latest review

32 bit versions of Windows, both XP and Vista, have a maximum memory limit of 4 GB. On paper, this sounds perfectly well, as the kit we have for review today is just that, 4 GB. But this specification can be a bit misleading. You see, this 4 GB limit includes all of the system memory... which includes, for example, your video card(s) memory.

Saitek 1600DPI & 3200DPI Gaming Mice Review
Techgage posted a review of Saitek's latest gaming mice

Saitek might not be the first name to come to mind when contemplating a gaming mouse purchase, but after taking a look at their 1600DPI and 3200DPI offerings, the message is clear: Saitek has the capability to be a real threat to the better known competition. These mice are not perfect, but we are on the right track.

Antec 900 Advanced Gaming Case Review
OCC has published a new review of the Antec 900 Advanced Gaming Case

The case itself is about the size of your average mid-tower. There are two 120mm intake fans on the front of the case. All nine 5.25" external drive bays are vented for better air flow. However, I did notice that not all of them have dust filters. There is a side panel window, while the rear of the case sports the typical I/O shield. This case is different in that it places the power supply at the bottom and has grommets already built-in for external water cooling - bonus!

DragonSteelMods posted a review on the CA Secure & Store Flash Drive

One of the final products from the Pepcom Digital Experience that I have for review is the CA Secure & Store Flash Drive, which features CA Internet Security Suite 2007 with CA Desktop DNA Migrator. By now all Windows users know that using a PC without a AntiVirus, Firewall and/or Spam Blocker is like riding a motorcycle without a helmet. It can be done, but is fraught with risks.

GalaXy TVistoU2F Multimedia HDD Enclosure Review
Viper Lair takes a look at a MPEG4 capable hard drive enclosure/portable multimedia player without the need for a PC for playback.

While HTPC is the rage, those of us with space limitations, as well as budget ones find several shortcomings to that particular solution. Then we have the Media Center solutions brought to us by the likes of D-Link and Netgear, where they use your OS and storage and their bandwidth to display multimedia on your TV, these have been hit or miss on several things, bandwidth and source system performance being dominant. Now comes GalaXy with an embedded Linux solution that could just fill that void.

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook

As an alternative to onboard notebook sound, the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook is a reasonable solution, but I really don't like having to source and buy the breakout box separately, which does push the price up out of the low budget range.

Parrot Party Bluetooth Speakers Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Parrot Party Bluetooth Speakers

Parrot's Party speakers are certainly well-designed for listening to music on the move. You can use them to play music from your phone, MP3 player or laptop without wires; they're compact and solid enough to travel with; and Bluetooth pairing works about as well as you'd hope it would. At £80 they're also pretty good value considering all the extra technology and, despite the distortion at the high end (over Bluetooth), general sound quality, volume and battery life is good for a device this small.

ECS GeForce 8500 GT 512MB Review
The Guru of 3D posted a review on the ECS GeForce 8500 GT 512MB video card

Since Guru3D (and we do say this with a little shame) never reviewed a GeForce 8500 to date they gladly accepted the offer of ECS to submit such a card to them for a review. So in house today a graphics card that I'd probably never would buy, a GeForce 8500 GT. But fact is; it's probably one of the cheapest graphics cards money can buy.

This is Guru3D, so they had to at the very least a little exorbitant and opted the 512MB model, hey it's still priced only ~80 EUR including that amount of memory. And low-end or not... I must say I had a hell of a good time with this card. Overclocking and tweaking was so much fun... we boosted roughly 30% more performance out of this card... easily.

PC Power and Cooling 750 Quad Black Power Supply Review
Bigbruin posted a review on the PC Power and Cooling 750 Quad Black Power Supply

Overall, the performance of the PC Power and Cooling 750 Quad Black Power Supply was extremely impressive. Even with the extra load added by the synthetic load generator thrown on top of everything else the test system had to offer, the voltage rails wouldn't budge. They just kept on reporting the same static data, which is what you would like to see. Whether the data was being read instantaneously via a multimeter or over time with diagnostic software, the unit made it clear it could handle much more.
