ASRock makes another first with its 4Core1333-eSATA2. This is probably the first time that we see ASRock making a entry level board with a recently announced chipset, the Intel P31.

ASRock 4Core1333-eSATA2 is based on the P31/G31+ICH7R chipset. Unlike its brothers that are based on 945GC chipset, supports the full range of Intel processors, they include LGA 775 for Intel Core Quad / Core Extreme / Core Duo, supporting Quad Core Kentsfield processors.

As we mentioned previously, this Intel P31 board runs faster than a P35. How much faster can it run? Will it be more successful than the P35 chipset? Read the review to find out.

This is a reasonable ink-jet photo printer, but it doesn't stand out from the crowd. Similar models from Canon and HP provide higher quality prints on plain paper and can match the Stylus Photo R285 on speed, despite their lower paper specifications. It is small, has HDMI output for High-Def viewing, decent sound and embedded graphics for those who only game in a little way. As far as being a gamer oriented product the Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H is mildly in that category, but no CrossFire support puts it in the low spectrum and onboard DX9 only graphics are considered in the same fashion.

It's been quite hectic lately with these Shader Model 4.0 cards being out. Not only NVIDIA came up as a winner here in terms of availability, the performance of G80 cards was more than standard when compared against R600 boards. The end of June marked AMD's launch of ATI Radeon HD 2600 and 2400 series which were pretty late anyway. Take a note though that mainstream and entry level cards are always overdue and flagship high-end products come first to the game.

For todays reading pleasure we have Powercolor HD 2600 XT with 256 MB of onboard 128-bit GDDR3 memory. There is GDDR4 model, but it wasn't available at that time. It may not be a bleeding edge performer, nonetheless it looks like an interesting DirectX 10 product with HD-ready output.

Because the first card I had received was defective, it took a while before this review could see the daylight. Believe me though, it had nothing to do with AMD accidentally shipping bad HD 2600 / 2400 cards into the market. Some say that was a rumor, but sources close to Bjorn3D claim there was a batch of broken Radeons in one of the warehouses.
