The Chaser MK-I sits on giant (Galaxy Size?) feet nearly 1.5 inch tall and about 4 inches long that swivel out. This not only stabilizes the chassis but helps improve airflow to the power supply even when sitting on carpet or other soft surfaces.

The last mITX board we looked at carried the A75 based AMD chipset and it's the perfect chipset for this kind of platform, as it's awesome for those cheaper systems. The one before that used the H67 chipset and while a good chipset, it never got the attention that the P67 did, nor the new Z68.

Today, though, we look at the Z68M-ITX HT which as the name suggests, sports the Z68 chipset. The TR2 range is a mainstream lineup of PSUs, with the RX ones having modular cabling added to the mix. This unit comes with plenty of protective systems in place and 80+ bronze certification which means it's part of the slightly more exclusive TR2 bronze range, made up of 600, 700 and 800w units; so I'm looking at the middle child today. NZXT is one of the better known case manufacturers, known for their unique aesthetic design and great looking cases. However, recently NZXT has been moving into the enthusiast end of the market- most notably with their new Phantom cases and high-end PSUs. There is not much you can criticise modern power supplies for being, the efficiency is getting better and better, wattage and stability is increasing and more and more units are becoming modular. But their is one thing that 99% of PSUs are guilty of- being incredibly boring! Almost all units are plain black boxes which hide in the corner of your case working away. NZXT break this mould by going with the increasingly popular white and black colour scheme that sets it aside from the others in terms of aesthetics which hopefully signifies a new level of performance. It seems that NZXT want to make a bold statement with their first PSU line, but as we know from experience, bold statements are not always the best ones! However, the brand new appearance is just concealing the beast within as the HALE90 packs a serious punch- on paper anyway. The most obvious feature is the 80+ Gold certification that instantly tells us that this is an enthusiast model. Not only will it be lighter on your electricity bills, the higher efficiency means that there will be less energy wasted as heat, which when combined with an NZXT-branded 140mm fan, means a very cool and quiet PSU. NZXT also takes on the credentials of all top-end PSUs by featuring a top quality construction made from Japanese solid capacitors and a well designed topography while featuring a modular design and many different protection capabilities for added reassurance. NZXT manage to deliver all of this at a low price point of around £120 which makes it the cheapest 80+ PSU in that range

MSI 990FXA-GD80 Review

The big difference between this 990FXA-GD80 and MSI's much cheaper 970A-GD45 (besides the befuddling array of characters) is the chipset. The 990FX chipset will let you play with multiple graphics cards, whether they're Nvidia or AMD-flavoured. So if you're one of those rare slobbering maniacs with two Nvidia graphics cards and a penchant for AMD processors, this board will allow you to play out your sick SLI fantasy. Does that justify double the expense of the 970A-GD45? Certainly not ? let's hope there's more on offer than just versatile GPU support and a lightening of the wallet. At £135 it's looking quite an expensive proposition. It does little more than right the wrongs of cheaper boards ? ASRock's Fatal1ty 990FX Professional and the Asus Crosshair V Formula shower extra features on the ever grateful user. So, whatcha got, MSI? Okay, well it does have the OC Genie.
