Bioshock Gameplay Review (PC) Review
Bjorn3d.com posted Bioshock Gameplay Review (PC).

The year is 1960. You're enjoying a smoke while taking a flight over the Atlantic Ocean. In your lap sits a present lovingly wrapped presumably by mom and dad. Taking out your wallet you look at an old photo of the family and remember how your parents always said you were special. That I was '..destined for great things'. Just then all hell breaks loose as the plane is sent spiraling downwards crashing into the water. Finding yourself deep underwater you hold your breath as you struggle back to the surface. You can see the warm glow of flames on the top and with each passing second your lungs become your enemy. With just a few seconds left you make your way back to the surface gasping for the air you so desparately need. In a scene not unlike the movie 'Cast Away' you are surrounded by flaming gasoline and not too far in the distance you see the remains of the airplane slipping below the water. The only chance for survival is a small island with a tall tower seemingly out of place here in the middle of nowhere.

MSI P35 Diamond motherboard Review
Bit-Tech published a review of MSI's P35 Diamond motherboard

The MSI P35 Diamond performs well but isn't exceptional and the additional extras are a welcome effort but might not appeal to everyone. I constantly found myself writing "disappointed" here and there, which I still am - it just doesn't live up to what we'd expect from a Diamond-series board - especially since I've seen what the X38 Diamond has in potential. At most it's an expensive Platinum and makes the //real P35 Platinum a far better purchase than when we originally reviewed it.

There should have been more effort put into the core bundle since you're buying the best P35 motherboard MSI makes - and while the X-Fi and SkyTel are certainly part of a reflection of this, it's just not all there and doesn't mean you can't buy the same X-Fi card for £25 anyway. Without these two extras you might as well be buying the P35 Platinum with expensive DDR3 slots because the core motherboard is lacking extra features. How about //at least another Gigabit Ethernet or some WiFi? A reorganised SATA port array? I still detest the use of internal SATA for the more infrequently used eSATA, and wish MSI wouldn't //permanently sacrifice ports in this way. Offering an eSATA Matrix RAID 1 array is good, but those who will use this function is low and it only needs at most one eSATA port.

Overall it shouldn't detract that this is still a good board with fantastic stability and great performance, but it still doesn't represent good value for money. If you're //really pinning over DDR3 and to splash out this kind of cash on a motherboard - wait for the X38 Diamond. Or, if you can't wait that long, we'd suggest you save some money and get some fast DDR2, the separate X-Fi card and the P35 Platinum for essentially the same result.

Thermalright HR-11 Backside Cooler Review
Hardwarecanucks posted a review on the Thermalright HR-11 Backside Cooler.

Thermalright has once again surprised us with an innovative and imaginative design which works better than we would have thought. A backside cooler definitely seems to be a novel idea considering the waves of heat we have felt coming off the underside of an 8800-series graphics card. Even with the rising temperatures, the HR-11 has shown quite well that its positioning can tame the rampant heat of the G80 by lowering temperatures of the GPU core.

Almost everywhere you go you'll find some sort of wireless networking, coffee shops, airports and numerous other places, it has become so common that most people even have it in their homes as well. SMC TigerStore SMCNAS24 Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the SMC TigerStore SMCNAS24

SMC delivers a nicely built NAS appliance at a reasonable price. The documentation could be more informative and it does come up well short of features when compared with the likes of Buffalo, NetGear, Synology and QNAP but performance is a cut above the rest

Panasonic Toughbook W5 Notebook Review
XYZ Computing posted a review on the Panasonic Toughbook W5 Notebook

Panasonic's W5 is one of the few ultraportable notebooks on the market that places an importance on durability and outright strength. Other companies like to say that their notebooks can take abuse, but very few of them actually get close to achieving what you might call "rugged". Panasonic actually calls the W5 "business-rugged" which is a take on their semi-rugged and fully-rugged models though it does not have to pass the same certifications. This review will be looking at Panasonic's W5 notebook. The Toughbook line is known for it's fully rugged models, some of which are strong enough to be shot or dropped repeatedly, but the W5 is part of the line's business series. These business notebooks are inspired by the design of the more robust models, but are considerably lighter and less expensive.

HP w2207 22-inch LCD Monitor Review
I4U NEWS reviews the HP w2207 22-inch LCD Monitor.

The integrated speakers are rear-facing units so you don't have to look at speaker grills on the front of your display. The speakers sound good with decent mids and highs, but lack bass for my tastes. The display stand on the HP w2207 22-inch widescreen monitor adjusts for height only.

Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 Case Review
Mikhailtech posted Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 Case Review

It's no secret that computer technology is progressing at an exponential rate. A system that may have cost you $1000 a couple months back could quite realistically be on sale for half as much today. With newer, faster, cooler parts coming out quicker than your next paycheck, it's often hard to settle because the "next best thing" is always just around the corner. Fortunately, not every PC component suffers this fate. Peripherals, input devices, displays, and cases are all more or less standardized and while it is possible to upgrade on a regular basis, it's far from necessary. A full tower ATX case from nearly a decade ago will still fit the latest hardware just fine. This of course makes a case purchase an extremely important one: since chances are you won't be upgrading any time soon, it's a good idea to get something you'll be satisfied with - possibly for years to come.

Crucial Ballistix DDR3 PC3-12800 Memory Review
3D Game Man posted a review on the Crucial Ballistix DDR3 PC3-12800 Memory

The Crucial Ballistix DDR3 PC3-12800 Memory offers excellent performance and it overclocks even higher than its 1600MHz default memory speed. DDR3 is the new memory standard and if you are upgrading it's an option over the older DDR2. Of course selecting DDR3 memory means you will require a motherboard that accepts it. The big advantage DDR3 has over DDR2 is it's much higher speed, but it doesn't have fast latencies like DDR2 and it's still very expensive.

Super Talent DDR3-1866 Review
Neoseeker takes a look at Super Talent's new DDR3-1866 dual-channel memory kit

In many ways, I really liked the Supertalent DDR3-1866 modules. It certainly is the fasted DDR3 memory that we've tested to date.On one of the systems I tested it on, it really did meet that pretty wild spec, at the advertised 8-8-8-24 timing rate. Oh sure, it would get fairly close on the others - 1600MHz was dead easy on all the boards, 1700MHz worked too... 1800MHz was iffy, and 1866 was no joy on the other boards, but would work on the Asus Blitz.

Cooler Master CMedia 282 Case Review
OCC has published a new review of the Cooler Master CMedia 282 Case

The chassis is all steel with the exception of the front bezel, which is both brushed anodized aluminum on the doors, and black ABS plastic on the rounded features. The rest of the case panels are painted a textured matte black that meshes well with just about any entertainment center. The left side of the case has four rubber plugs that hide threaded holes so that if the conversion to a desktop style case is done the legs can be mounted here. Ventilation is accomplished via four 120mm fans.

Corsair Survivor GT USB Flash Drive Review
Tweaknews.net posted a review on the Corsair Survivor GT USB Flash Drive

While I didn't back my car over the Survivor to “crash test” it, the drive has a solid feel, and certainly looks like it could stand up to quite a bit of abuse. The water resistance is a nice plus, given that the drive is meant to be carried around, leading to the possibility of dropping it in a puddle, toilet, swimming pool, etc. You can rest assured that the Survivor will handle it all.
