Creative HS-1000 Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset Review
Everything USB posted a review on the Creative HS-1000 Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset

Audio without wires might be a good thing for some gamers, but anyone who suspects that there might be the merest possibility of wireless interference will run for the hills before bringing a wireless headset to battle. If nothing else, the HS-1000 shows that Creative knows their market: the headset shares many of the features of its HS-1200 wireless sibling - including the use of X-Fi technology as its sound processor - while soothing the fears of the hardcore by using a wired connection (and obtaining the endorsement of Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel). However, the two headsets are not the exact same product - today, we'll be looking at (and comparing) the differences.

Verdict:

Creative's Fatal1ty-endorsed gaming headset improves upon a few of the problems of its wireless counterpart, and is a very strong product that stands well even without comparison. Unless you desperately need a wireless headset when you game, the HS-1000 is our new gaming headset of choice.

Pros:
+ Comfortable fit
+ Ear cups that surround the ear
+ Consistent surround across different standards
+ Good controls
+ Good general use product

Cons:
- Poor documentation
- Microphone levels are fairly low
- Detachable microphone
- Control LED has a design flaw
- Installation problem in Vista

With all the types of portable devices out there today that use headphones we've got a plethora of choices when it comes to finding decent set of headphones that won't break our budgets. ATI Radeon HD 4550 Video Card Review
Legit Reviews posted a review on the ATI Radeon HD 4550 Video Card

AMD planned the launch of the ATI Radeon HD 4550 graphics card many months ago, but oddly enough this entry level graphics card comes to light amid the worst point drop the DOW has seen to date. It almost seems right that in a time where financial stability is uncertain that AMD would launch a graphics card in the $45-$55 price range as they have been bringing out video cards that are price versus performance winners since the Radeon HD 3800 series launched last November.

Logitech G9 Mouse Review
NGOHQ.com posted Logitech G9 Mouse Review

The packaging was actually folded, so when we opened the package we had to open it like a book. Once fully open we find the second of the two interchangeable grips and a brief description of the G9's features. One thing that was mysteriously absent was a copy of their SetPoint software. It's no big deal considering most people today have broadband Internet and after considering the fact that our G9 was a press sample, this could explain the missing CD. Anyways, what we did receive was the G9 laser mouse, a manual, a package of weights, and the two interchangeable comfort grips.

The two comfort grips offer very different feels to the G9. The wide load grip has a throw back feel to it. It reminds us of an older style three button mouse from ten years ago. If you look at the wide grip it is raised in the palm area and has a moulded flare on the left side that supports the thumb during usage. The surface of the wide grip has a rather smooth satin type finish to it. The precision grip is far more streamlined and has a much lower profile then the wide load grip. The surface is not smooth on the precision grip; instead the surface is granular feeling. The granular feel of the material is more suited to precise working with the G9, perhaps graphic editing or other applications that require precision mouse movements. The images below shows both grips and an old school 3 button PS/2 mouse for comparison.

If you remove the comfort grip from the body of the G9 you see that it is rather compact in size. There are the two side buttons and a small silver metal post on either side of the body that hold the comfort grips in place. When you press the button on the rear of the G9 it retracts the two small metal posts just enough so you can easily lift off the grip. Just above the grip release there is the storage area that holds the weight that we have added to the body of the G9. After experimenting with weight combinations we settled on 22 grams, which seems to be a comfortable amount to work with.

It's not just unfortunate laptops that are bereft of Bluetooth connectivity; how many desktops have you used recently without it? And for most people, most of the time, this is a complete non-issue. Chances are, it wasn't even on the radar when you were setting your computer's specifications. But figuring out that you need or want it, only to find out that your machine is sans, is what hardware experts call a bummer. The Nova is an elegant and miniscule piece of hardware, and appealing whether you need one for a desktop or a laptop.

OCZ Dominatrix Gaming Mouse Review
Hardware Secrets posted a review on the OCZ Dominatrix Gaming Mouse

OCZ had entered the gaming market niche with the Equalizer mouse, which we already tested. Now the company strikes gold again by releasing the Dominatrix, a larger model with rubber grip and adjustable weight – a common feature among top of the line gaming-grade mice. You may think it's a sex toy due to its somewhat inappropriate name (try asking for one at a friendly neighborhood gaming supply store) but if OCZ's intention was to demonstrate its capacity to dominate and beat the rivals into submission, Dominatrix is a well-deserved name. Let's see how it fares during our test.

Sapphire HD4850 Dual Slot Heatsink Review
OCC has published a new review on the Sapphire HD4850 Dual Slot Heatsink

The Sapphire HD4850 Dual Slot is a slightly different animal than the standard HD4850 from Sapphire. It maintains the same GPU (RV770) and amount of memory (512MB GDDR3 on a 256 bit bus), but is built on a Sapphire designed and built PCB, rather than using the reference design PCB. In addition to the non-reference PCB, there is the non-reference cooling solution to go with the board. There are no memory heatsinks used, but there is one additional heatsink at the front of the PCB. The clock speeds stay right at the factory specified 625MHz on the GPU core and 993MHz on the 512MB of memory. The card is slightly shorter than the standard PCB so this should allow some additional clearance in tight cases.
