SolyTech SL-8600EPS 600 Watt budget PSU Review
The Guru of 3D takes a look at the SolyTech SL-8600EPS 600 Watt budget PSU

We land at the premises of SolyTech, a relative unknown manufacturer. They recently launched a SLI compatible 600 Watt PSU. It does not have quadzilla distribution rails, it doesn't even have four PCI-Express connectors. Yet I figured can this 70 EUR / 80 USD PSU deal with our new quad-core CPU overclocked, 680i SLI, 2x 8800 GTS overclocked, 2 GB Vista bitching system ? Would it be possible for a much cheaper PSU to keep if with that Q6600 2.4 GHz quad-core processor clcoked at 3 GHz ?

Western Digital My Book Pro Edition II Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Western Digital My Book Pro Edition II.

The Western Digital My Book Pro Edition II is the first external hard drive we've seen that brings RAID and Firewire 800 to the desktop. It's stylish, quiet, and a breeze to use and, if all you want is data security then it's definitely worth considering. However, if you just want a large and fast external hard drive you'd be better served by a single disk solution.

Oono miniDAB/FM/MP3 MD-2Plus2 SE Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Oono miniDAB/FM/MP3 MD-2Plus2 SE

The second Oono has mildly improved innards, with the increase in memory from 128MB to 2GB being the main draw. However, the new paint job can't disguise the fact that this is an unappealing looking and awkward to use device. Should you have need of its many talents though, specifically a portable recording DAB unit, and are aware of the vagaries of DAB reception, then you might be able to justify the high cost. If you only want to listen to DAB however, iRiver's B20 is a better option.

Gigabyte GA-X38T-DQ6 Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the Gigabyte GA-X38T-DQ6

For the time being we're unconvinced by Intel's X38 chipset and DDR3 memory but Gigabyte has done a decent job with the GA-X38T-DQ6 and it looks like it could be future-resistant for a year or two which is pretty good going in this game.

Silverstone Element ST50EF-Plus 500W PSU Review
HardwareLogic posted Silverstone Element ST50EF-Plus 500W PSU Review

In recent months 700 to 1000 watt monsters have been stealing the spotlight on the power supply stage. Many people may think the time of the 500 watt unit has come and gone, but that is just not the case. Believe it or not, 500 watt units can still hold their own and perform just fine on most systems, even some systems that many enthusiasts consider high end. Yeah, if you are running a quad processor, with six hard drives and two 8800GTX's in SLI, then you are going to want to pick up a PSU with a "few" more watts. But how many people do you know that have power sucking rigs like that? Or an even better question: How is this 500 watt unit going to hold up in an average enthusiast system? Follow along with us to find out...

Asus P5K3-Deluxe/WiFi-AP P35 motherboard Review
APH Networks has published a new review on the Asus P5K3-Deluxe/WiFi-AP P35 motherboard

It's been quite a few months since we reviewed the Asus P5K-Deluxe; in which we wrote about in June of this year. Today, months after images of Asus' P35 chipset based boards were released on several enthusiast websites, we've finally got a chance to take a look at Asus' first generation DDR3 boards. Actually, we've had this board since mid-July -- unfortunately we did not have any DDR3 RAM at our disposal until good old FedEx dropped off some OCZ Platinum PC3-12800 Enhanced Bandwidth memory at our doorstop (Without our approval, by the way, but good thing no one took it!) a few days ago. Now that we got a chance, let's examine the P5K3-Deluxe and benchmark it against its DDR2 brother, the P5K-Deluxe. The answer we want to obtain today is, what kind of performance gain are you expecting from DDR3 over DDR2? While you may already know the results partially, it's always interesting to see what the future has in store for us, today.

Lian Li PC-C32 Review
XSReviews has posted a new review on the Lian Li PC-C32 case

Lian Li are well known for their prowess at forging PC cases from aluminium. We've seen their desktop towers, and so today I have a horizontal desktop enclosure with the possibility of it being mounted in a server rack.

Hopefully it carries on the same design and quality of the other Lian Li offerings.

Enermax Infinity 720W Power Supply Review
PC Stats posted Enermax Infinity 720W Power Supply Review

Enermax is power supply brand that differentiates itself on features and appearance. Both are good qualities, but power efficiency is something it should improve upon. A power efficient PSU that is difficult to use isn't much good, and the same rings true for a unit which has all the physical qualities take care of, but isn't as power efficient as it could be.

Hardwarezone posted a review on the OCZ Reaper HPC Edition PC2-8500 2GB Kit (DDR2-1066)

PowerColor HD2600 Pro 512MB Video Card Review
OCC has published a new review of the PowerColor HD2600 Pro 512MB Video Card

While you won't be playing the latest games at the highest resolutions, you will be able to run at fair settings for the casual gamer. I was impressed that the card did so well compared to the other two, since it was the slowest of the three. In the newer benchmarks it even surpassed the comparison cards during some of the settings. I was happy when it did so well in RyderMark. Games that had videos in them, like Need For Speed: Most Wanted, were crisp and clear, with no lagging. This card did exactly as it advertised with flying colors.

Hiper Anubis Mid Tower ATX Case HTC-1K614 Review
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the Hiper Anubis Mid Tower ATX Case HTC-1K614

Anubis is the name of the ancient Egyptian God of Death and the name of the 1st ATX case ever from HIPER. As expected, HIPER does not come up with something usual: the HTC-1K614 is entirely constructed out of high quality 3mm thick aluminium 6063 T5 alloy, weighing in at over 23 pounds! What makes the Hiper Anubis different to the other alloy cases is in the manufacturing process. All of panels are alloy welded together creating a much stronger structure to withstand over 220lbs compared to the cheaper riveting method, where the joint not only becomes a weaker point, but allows the entire structure to bend. The Anubis mid-tower ATX case comes pre-modded with a side window and is probably the only case with a window to pass EMI testing, so is perfect for gamers and hardware enthusiasts.

MSI NX8600GT OC Edition Review
Viper Lair posted a review on the MSI NX8600GT OC Edition

When compared to the competition, the MSI NX8600GT OC Edition certainly holds it's own well, and more often than not beats competing GPU's from the other camp, especially where anti-aliasing is concerned. It does fall behind when compared to ATI's offerings for video decoding, but it does well enough simply by virtue that the ATI offerings perform exceptionally.

Bjorn3D takes a look at the ICY DOCK MB664US-1S: 3.5" Hard Drive eSATA External Storage

One limiation of external storage is its inability to offer the same transfer speed as internal storage. This all changed with the introduction of eSATA. The eSATA has been introduced for awhile now but it has not been widely adopted until now. Today, we will be looking at ICY DOCK MB664US-1S, an external storage enclosure fitted with eSATA and USB connector.
