Sapphire HD 4850 Dual Slot Fansink Review
Bjorn3D takes a look at the Sapphire HD 4850 Dual Slot Fansink.

We has had a rebound, starting with the 3800 series and now with the 4800 series. ATI has done a turn-around that hasn't been seen since the GeForce 6 days. They have even gone so far as to take back the performance crown from Nvidia. Today, we are privileged enough to have the Sapphire HD 4850 Dual Slot Fansink, which goes head-to-head with the Nvidia 9800 GTX. The HD 4850 takes the place of the 3870 from ATI and the 8800 GT from Nvidia in the lower high-end market.

Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet and DVR Station
TestFreaks.com posted a review on the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet and DVR Station

Archos has been around for a while, and really they've come along way with the quality and functionality of their products, they've recently introduced the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet which features a nice large 4.8$B!m(B LCD screen that runs at a resolution of 800$B!_(B480 pixels to produce a very nice big picture. That's not the only feature of the Archos 5 though, it can do pretty much anything a laptop can, internet, email, movies, music, and even games. Archos sent me the Archos 5 Tablet for review along with a must-have accessory called the DVR Station which allows you to not only record TV like a DVR, but it allows you to hook up the Archos 5 to your TV for a really big screen view

Sapphire Radeon HD 3450 LP Review
ASE Labs posted a review on the Sapphire Radeon HD 3450 LP

When readers come to ASE Labs and see a graphics card review, they expect to find a high speed entry with a bunch of bells and whistles. There is another section of the market that ASE Labs reaches and that is the mainstream builders and entertainment PC builders. These types of buyers have very different requirements than the so-called enthusiast. Speed and performance take a back seat to form factor, noise, and features. Most small cases only support low profile cards and the Sapphire Radeon HD 3450 steps in to provide the video on your entertainment system.

InWin Commander 750w Review
XSReviews has reviewed the InWin Commander 750w PSU

In the past, overclockers had a core set of components they needed to focus on to guarantee stability and performance: CPU, motherboard, memory and GPU. One often overlooked aspect of the intrepid system builder was the PSU. However, as products have become more high powered, with GPUs especially needing hundreds of watts just on their own, PSUs have become far more important. With that in mind, InWin have sent over their Commander 750w PSU. Let's see how it holds up.

First look - Asus Eee PC S101
Bit-Tech published a hands-on preview of the new Asus Eee PC S101

Opening the flap reveals the Eee PC S101's striking metallic burnt orange lid -- a massive change from the black and white casing used on the older Eee PCs. It's already clear that Asus has changed direction with the S101 and we think that it's for the better. However, we're sure that some won't like the burnt orange -- we've heard that Asus will be offering a number of lid options, including graphite and champagne, along with the metallic burnt orange on the model we looked at.

Asus is aiming this particular Eee PC more at the corporate types that want the portability of an Eee, but want something a bit more stylish -- I'm sure that's what most of us would prefer, anyway. I was never really a big fan of the original Eee PC's design, but the new model has really got me interested in the netbook market all over again.

The S101 is 264mm long, 180.5mm deep and between 18 and 25mm thick, which makes for a pretty svelte appearance, but it's not as thin as some of the new ultra slim notebooks like the MacBook Air or Lenovo's ThinkPad X300. However, at its thickest, it is thinner than Sony's incredibly stylish TZ-series notebooks and the TZ and bulky don't belong in the same sentence.

Although there were no scales to hand when we looked at the Eee PC S101, Asus claims that it weighs about 1kg with the battery attached. Luckily, I had my trusty IBM ThinkPad X60s to hand, complete with the standard four-cell battery, which weighs about 1.25kg. It felt a bit heavier than the S101 with the new Eee in one hand and my X60s in the other, but the difference wasn't so profound that it was like holding a feather in one and a brick in the other.

HIS and Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 Face Off
HotHardware.com posted a review on the Radeon HD 4850

With the recent run of newer and more affordable graphics cards from ATI, it's almost easy to forget that there's already a sub-$200 frame-rate cruncher called the Radeon HD 4850. Based on the same RV770 chip as the more powerful, yet more expensive HD 4870, the HD 4850 ships with the same 800 stream processors, 40 texture units, and 16 ROPs that have made these cards such hot items. The main area where they differ, other than clock speeds, is in regard to memory. While the HD 4870 ships with high-end GDDR5 memory chips, the HD 4850 finds itself loaded with 512 MB of more mainstream GDDR3.

A major caveat with the Radeon HD 4850 that has arisen, however, is the excessive heat that gets produced by the RV770 GPU. It seemed the single slot reference cooling solution had a tough time handling the heat output of the RV770. With heat being a concern, and manufacturers having more time to tinker with their cards, we weren't surprised to find out that two of ATI's major partners, HIS and Sapphire, had two new cards waiting in the wings, each with their own ramped up clock speeds and with some superior cooling thrown in as well. Come on by the site and check out the Sapphire Toxic Radeon HD 4850 512M and HIS Radeon HD 4850 IceQ4 TurboX...

Biostar TPower I45 Review
InsideHW.com has posted article about Biostar TPower I45 motherboard

After few top models of biggest world motherboard manufacturers we got in our test lab "runner" from BIOSTAR. How much this company invested in overclock possibilities of their motherboards and how they have done their job we will try to show you on their TPOWER I45 model. As opposite to BIOSTAR T series that is easily recognizable for its blue PCB, TPOWER I45 model has black PCB. Layout is very good and it shows that BIOSTAR invested significant amount of time in its design. First interesting detail, that shows how much BIOSTAR takes overclock serious, is little detail in cooling solution.

Gigabyte EP45-T Extreme Review
Neoseeker's takes a look at the copper-heavy Gigabyte EP45-T Extreme motherboard

On one hand, it ran fine with up to 500MHz (2000MHz) FSB with few changes other than Vcore and Vfsb being bumped to 1.45V and 1.4V respectively, as long as the DDR3 timings were left at "Auto" and no attempt was made to exceed about 1600MHz memory speed with pretty sad auto timings. On the other hand, the memory performance of the P45 chipset - as my other P45 reviews showed - is sub-standard compared to the X38 and even P35 chipsets.

Lian-Li Silent Force 750W Review
OCC has published a new review on the Lian-Li Silent Force 750W

The Lian-Li Silent Force 750W will provide what most PC users want, stable rails with low noise, up to its rated maximum power. The efficiency, although very good, is borderline as far as 80 Plus certification is concerned and at one point we get a power factor that dips below the required level of 0.9. If efficiency and power factor aren't top of your list of requirements then this power supply will easily run all dual graphic card configurations with ease and is on par with other power supplies in its class.

MSI Radeon HD 4670 Graphics Card Review
TweakTown posted a review on the MSI Radeon HD 4670 Graphics Card

Today we find ourselves once again looking at one of the new mid-range ATI based graphics cards. The particular card we’re looking at today is the HD 4670 which impressed us at launch just the other week.

With MSIs version in hand, we will see if it can manage to impress us like the Sapphire did. The mid-range market is no doubt one of the most important segments for both AMD and NVIDIA, as this is where the quantity is found.

QNAP TS-409 Network Attached Storage System Review
APH Networks has published a new review on the QNAP TS-409 Network Attached Storage System

Ever since Junior High computer labs, all the documents we use are stored on network drives alone -- because the students will be using a different computer pretty much every time, and Deep Freeze are deployed on every workstation so smart-arse 15 year olds won't be messing around the computers all that much. At home, however, all my documents are stored on my computer's local hard disks. I've never really given much thought into an always-on network drive because, well, this type of system never really caught my attention in the first place. As time progresses, my local area network became more and more complicated and filled up with an ever expanding count of computers. The need for a central data storage device due to this phenomenon became more evident. Almost two years ago, I've reviewed the Thermaltake Muse NAS RAID network attached storage device -- which brought quite a revolutionary change of computer usage habits in my house, at least for me. From regular data transfers, data backups, local file hosting, to media streaming, I've always wondered how I ever lived without it for all these years. There was one problem with the Muse NAS RAID though: The performance did not meet my expectations. Looking for a high performance, easy to use, loaded with features NAS device, it seems that I've finally found a solution -- the QNAP TS-409 Turbo NAS. My major concern: It better be fast. So let's see how it goes.

Synology DS408 4-Drive SATA RAID Gigabit NAS Review
Benchmark Reviews posted a review on the Synology DS408 4-Drive SATA RAID Gigabit NAS

As a network administrator for several small and medium businesses, I am used to seeing pedestal servers with expensive Windows Server edition Operating Systems running for the sole purpose of serving files out to the workgroup or domain. Such environments has made it necessary to look for money-saving opportunities in the office environment. A few years back Network Attached Storage server hit the scene with a price tag comparable to the alternative, but the NAS products offered in today's market are far superior and cost far less than before. Synology has pioneered the NAS server into mainstream, and now offers devices to fit every range and environment from home to enterprise. Benchmark Reviews has the good fortune to performance test the 4-drive SATA Disk Station DS408 RAID NAS.

Antec Signature 850 Watt Power Supply Review
Virtual-Hideout posted a review on the Antec Signature 850 Watt Power Supply

You can find the Signature 850 Watt Power Supply for $230.00 at retailers like Newegg and Performance-PCs. That's not a bad price at all given the internal improvements made to the new Signature line. And besides, you're buying a product from a proven name in the PSU industry. And if that doesn't entice you, how about a 5 Year Warranty? They're that confident about this product. Why shouldn't you be? Until I see something better come along, this is my top recommended power supply in the 800 to 900 watt range.

Gainward Radeon HD 4870 1GB Golden Sample Review
DriverHeaven posted a review on the Gainward Radeon HD 4870 1GB Golden Sample video card

On our test bench today is Gainwards Golden Sample version of the latest high end video card to be released by ATI, the Radeon HD 4870 1GB. Rumours and news about this particular model have been around since before the 512MB version made it to launch but it has taken some time for the 1GB model to reach the marketplace and it enters into a slightly more crowded segment than it would have three months ago. The main reason for this is the release of the 216 unified shader GTX 260 within the last fortnight.
