Inno3D 7900 GS Review
TrustedReviews looked at the Inno3D 7900 GS

Back at the beginning of September, nVidia launched the 7900 GS and 7950 GT. Although I covered this in a news story, it's only now that I have managed to take a look at the 7900 GS. With the ATI X1950 Pro launched today, and G80 just around the corner, I felt I couldn't really review the former without first looking at this card first.

Scarface: The World is Yours Review
TrustedReviews have looked at the game "Scarface: The World is Yours"

After the horrors of EA’s The Godfather, Scarface: The World if Yours is cause for a sigh of relief. Provided they can accept the game’s opening premise – that Al Pacino’s coke-addled gangster, Tony Montana, escaped the bloodbath that ends the film – fans of the movie will be relatively pleased with the way Radical Entertainment has handled the license. Like its inspiration, this is a sharply written, stylish, testosterone-fuelled piece of work, filled with memorable, fantastically foul mouthed dialogue and coming just as close to glorifying a life of crime. And if it is derivative of GTA – and it is – then there’s at least a sense that it’s simply returning the complement; where would Vice City have been without the De Palma film, after all.

Sony Vaio VGX-XL202 Media Center PC with Blu-ray Drive Review
TrustedReviews looked at the new Sony Vaio VGX-XL202 Media Center PC with Blu-ray Drive

This week sees the release of Blu-ray, the first of the next generation high definition optical discs formats to hit the UK. The format is most closely associated with Sony, but the first dedicated drive is actually available from Samsung. Sony is not ignoring the launch of its own format however. We've already looked at the impressive Vaio VGN-AR21S notebook that features an integrated Blu-ray drive and now Sony has put another Blu-ray notebook drive into it's latest desktop Media Center system - the VGX-XL202. This is essentially the same as the VGX-XL201 but with the addition of the Blu-ray drive, for which you'll pay an extra £800 – a hefty additional sum.

This summary should help you cut some of the decision making short or help you decide what components you want to mix and match in your system. However, do keep in mind that each kit is being revised or replaced constantly and the best thing to do is to double check each sponsor or manufacturer web site to be better informed. There are other kits on the market besides the "Fabulous 8" we reviewed and it's very possible something new will be added later on.

Thermaltake Toughpower W0116RU Cable Management 750W Power Supply Review
Tweaknews.net has posted a Thermaltake Toughpower W0116RU Cable Management 750W Power Supply Review

This PSU should prove to be a worthy addition to the very competent Toughpower line. The stability was impressive and the modular cables not only performed admirably, but look very good in their sleeving. Outstanding stability and a rich feature set like this, however, doesn't come cheap.

How Can Ubuntu Improve?

With the next version of Ubuntu set to release in the near future, I found myself curious about the general consensus of the average user population. Early on, I made a conscious decision that I would not review this upcoming version of Ubuntu until it had been released in a non-beta format.

Transparency anti-aliasing on the GeForce 6 series
Elite Bastards looked at the transparency anti-aliasing on the GeForce 6 series

While the addition of new features to graphics board drivers usually get quite a lot of press, the introduction of Transparency anti-aliasing support, previously only available on GeForce 7 series parts, to older GeForce 6 series boards in NVIDIA's ForceWare 91.47 driver release didn't get quite the attention that it perhaps deserved. To redress that imbalance, today we take a look at both the performance and image quality of Transparency anti-aliasing on a couple of GeForce 6 series boards, to see how it compares to the well-established support already available on G7x.
