Sapphire's HD 4650 Overclocked comes with a solid overclock out of the box. But during our own overclocking tests we saw an amazing untapped overclocking potential resulting in more than 20% real world performance increase. Even without overclocking this card, that's in the $70 price range, is an excellent deal considering price/performance.

NZXT Whisper Case Review
Virtual-Hideout posted a review on the NZXT Whisper Case

At present, extended ATX cases are very limited and cost a pretty premium. Only a handful are available with the cheapest coming in around the $100 mark and it doesn't have near the storage or expansion capabilities. Anything offering the same features or close to that of the Whisper are going to run you $170 and more. That's something definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a quiet, spacious super case like the NZXT Whisper.

NVIDIA SLI Technology for Intel X58 Motherboards Review
NVNews.Net takes a look at NVIDIA SLI Technology for Intel X58 Motherboards

The license key is an important feature since it is dependent on certification by NVIDIA, which includes verification of stability, power, compatibility, and layout. If a motherboard is certified, then NVIDIA's drivers will enable SLI functionality.

Some certified motherboards with native slot configurations will support 2-way and 3-way SLI configurations. In this case, native slot configurations consist of PCI-Express slots that are connected to Intel's X58 chipset. However, X58-based motherboards with NVIDIA's nForce 200 chip will be able to provide full-bandwidth x16 connections for 3-way SLI. These systems will also be able to support four x16 PCI-Express slots, creating maximum bandwidth for 3-way SLI systems with a dedicated PhysX GPU.

Tweaknews.net posted a review on the Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Computer Case

With the Silentuium T2 ECO 80 chassis, Arctic Cooling set out to target the green, quiet-computing market segment. While this market is showing growth lately, it's still a relatively small niche, and niche products are a little tricky to review. One has to consider the compromises that are necessary in order to target the desired niche market. For example, the quiet computing crowd is perfectly willing to tolerate higher temps and even lower performance in order to achieve a near silent system. Up to a point.

WinZip 12.0 Professional Reviewed
ITreviewed checked out WinZip 12.0 Professional

With version 12.0 of its popular file compression package, Corel has done a good job of targeting inexperienced digital media users. New compression algorithms, as well as support for new file formats, make it a much well-rounded package, and its largely unchanged interface means it remains the most user-friendly compression tool available. The photo management tools are reasonable, making it a from camera to grandma photo solution, but the image compression tools are nonsensical - attempting to compress already compressed images (JPEGs) yields no benefits. Another disappointment is that there is no shareware option - all you get for free is a 45-day trial. But compared to the likes of StuffIt Deluxe 12.0 and WinRAR, you get more for your money. Having said that, for many users most of WinZip 12.0's features will be surplus to requirements.

Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 512MB TOXIC Video Card Review
TheTechLounge posted a review on the Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 512MB TOXIC Video Card

I think it's worth everyone's wait for Toxic. As far as brandings go, anyway. But Sapphire puts so much effort into general improvements over the stock designs--which they have no small hand in-- that I have to wonder if they hold back just to make certain that their Toxic will be that much better. Maybe I'm giving too much away for an intro. Let's get back to boring stuff, like how HD 4000 changed every possible standard for pricing, and slammed into NVIDIA's market share so hard that they knocked stock out of 'em. People walking past their offices in California were picking it up on the streets as souvenirs, "I was there when HD 4000 was released!" HD 4870, the flagship, wasn't a hundred percent, though. It uses a lot of power, and makes a lot of noise. I don't expect the efficiency to change, but I, and silence enthusiasts everywhere, have been rubbing their hands in wait for Sapphire to throw in their characteristic blue into the equation.

Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 X2 2GB Video Card Review
Elite Bastards posted a review on the Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 X2 2GB Video Card

When AMD launched their flagship Radeon HD 4870 X2 board, our eye was caught by the mention of a lower priced Radeon HD 4850 X2 board, designed to compete with NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 280 in both price and performance terms. We patiently waited and waited for said SKU to see the light of day, but nothing appeared - Until now. We get to take a look at Sapphire's exclusive Radeon HD 4850 X2 design which launches today, packing two RV770 cores and 2GB of GDDR3 memory to offer up what should be performance aplenty, and a much-needed challenger to the GeForce GTX 280.

We've already mentioned that a reference Radeon HD 4850 X2 sticks with the clock speeds allocated to a reference Radeon HD 4850, and Sapphire's board sticks to these speeds, giving us clocks of 625MHz and 993MHz for core and memory speed respectively.

The first big surprise comes from taking a look at the length of this board's PCB - Put simply, it's bigger than both the Radeon HD 4870 X2 and GeForce GTX 280 at around 11.5 inches long (compared to 10.5" for those other parts). Make sure you have plenty of room in your case before picking up one of these monsters; we only just managed to squeeze it into our Cooler Master 690 chassis that we use for testing here.

The board also comes with a huge cooler strapped to it, sporting two fans to pull air into that large heatsink, although unfortunately due to the design of the board hot air can't be exhausted out of the rear of the chassis.

OCC has published a new review on the Sapphire HD4850X2

Viewing your HD content has never been easier with the addition of support for four different monitors at one time. The last card I have seen to feature four DVI outputs was the Asus EAH3870X2. To further expand on the HD aspect of this card, Sapphire has included an accessory pack that includes several suites of software from Cyberlink as well as a licensed copy of the latest benchmark from Futuremark. Silver Power SP-600A2C Review
Bjorn3D takes a look at the Silver Power SP-600A2C

In days gone by, power supplies used to be the most overlooked component in the computer. I remember my early days of PC building when it was all about finding the cheapest PSU you could get your hands on and looking for 'just enough' when it came to wattage. No more, however, as the power supply market has exploded. Now we see everything from those same cheap power supplies to $500 models pushing over 1300 watts of power. Just the other day I pulled a co-worker's computer apart. It's about three years old or so and it's running a 250W power supply. I didn't even know those existed anymore! But I digress.

What we have here today is a pretty 'middle of the road' entry from Tagan, in the form of the Silver Power 600W. Let's face it. Most of us don't need 1300 watts of power pulsing through our systems. Sure, it's nice to have the bragging rights that come along with that package, but why spend all that extra money when you could spend it on something else, like software or even extra memory?

So let's have a look at it, the Silver Power 600W, part of their Blue Lightning Series.

Antec's Skeleton represents the growing need for PC enthusiasts to have a quick and easy way to swap out components while maintaining cooling. A perfect case for those that never seem to get around to putting their machine's cover back on, it looks great and is extremely easy to use. Its free-form open frame system lets you do pretty much what you like too such as littering the chassis with six hard drives. For the regular PC user in a busy household it's better to protect your components and shield yourself from their noise with a good mid-tower, but for the power user that constantly fiddles around swapping out parts, there's nothing else like it. Thermaltake VI-ON 2.5-inch USB HDD Enclosure Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Thermaltake VI-ON 2.5-inch USB HDD Enclosure

Piano Black is the new, well….black. It started a couple of years ago when I retired my brushed aluminum Sony STR-DA4ES receiver and upgraded to a Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi in piano black. Ever since then the finish has mesmerized me. Is TweakTown reviewing home theater equipment now? No, not really, but this does tie in with today’s review of the Thermaltake VI-ON 2.5" USB portable hard drive.

Portable storage has become pretty popular and there are several ways the average consumer can carry around a lot of data. Some people may choose to carry a thumb drive, but most thumb drives are fairly small when it comes to capacity; the largest I have seen for sale to date is 64GB, but those cost a fortune. If you need large capacity and a low cost solution with high portability, a USB hard drive is the only way to go.

XFX GTX260 Black Edition Review
OCC has published a new review on the XFX GTX260 Black Edition

This Black Edition video card from XFX comes pre-overclocked. That's a good thing for the folks who either don't know how to overclock or the people who just want something better than the normal cards. Manufacturers know this since the bulk of the market is not this crowd. Now you have the gamers, enthusiasts and hardcore benchmark junkies that will make the card scream for mercy. Overclocking abilities on the factory clock speeds are many times a good indicator that the card will do well when the cooling is improved and the voltage mods have been put into place. So how well does this card from XFX do on air? Pretty well actually. On the Core speed only the EVGA GTX260 FTW had a higher GPU core and shader clock speed. When you add in the additional processing cores, the performance of the XFX Black addition is almost as good as the well clocked GTX280 in the comparison list. I was able to coax an additional 76MHz out of the GPU core,111MHz more out of the memory and 121MHz more from the shader cores. Add the additional clock speeds to a card that is already almost as fast as the GTX280 and you have a lot of performance to play with. This translates into additional frames per second for the gamer, additional points per day for the people running distributed computing projects and last but not least, reduced time to compress video when using the GPU.
