Computer speakers are okay for when you are at home at the desktop and headphones are okay for those times when everyone at home is asleep or when the noise might bother others during routine activities. G.Skill FM-25S2-128GB 2.5-inch Solid State Disk Review
TweakTown posted a review on the G.Skill FM-25S2-128GB 2.5-inch Solid State Disk

If you thought the Solid State Drive (SSD) market was heating up just a few weeks ago, then it is a total inferno now. New drives are being announced nearly every day and with the new products come higher capacities at lower prices. Just last week we looked at the Patriot Warp V2 128GB drive and called it a wicked drive at the 400 Dollar price point.

Today we are going to look at G.Skill’s first Multi-Level Cell (MLC) drive that performs nearly identical to the Patriot Warp V2, but costs less than 300 Dollars.

CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600Mhz Ram TW3X4G1600C9DHXNV Review
TestFreaks.com posted a review on the CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600Mhz Ram TW3X4G1600C9DHXNV

Today I've got a set of DDR3 ram from Corsair, it's the XMS3 DHX PC3-12800 Ram or 1600Mhz ram. The DHX stand for Dual-path Heat Exchange that the ram features in the form of essentially a three piece heatspreader, one of each side over the ram ship and one between that actually helps keep the PCB cool as well. I ran the set through my battery of tests and it fully dominated all of them, it even easily runs at a lower latency of Cas8 which netted me a nice performance gain as well. So read on

BFG LS-680W Power Supply Review
HardwareLogic posted BFG LS-680W Power Supply Review

The LS series power supplies from BFG are middle of the road units. They have all fixed cable units (as opposed to modular cable units on the MX series) and feature four 12V rails cooled with a single 135mm fan. The GS series are positioned to be lower wattage and lower budget units with a 120mm fan, while the ES line feautures a 135mm fan and leads the pack in wattage and efficiency due to its Frequency Conversion technology. But we're not here to explore everything about BFG, so let's focus on the task at hand: the LS-680W power supply.

Blu-Ray Performance - Intel X4500HD Versus Radeon 4830 Part 2
Legit Reviews took another look at the Blu-Ray performance of Intel X4500HD and Radeon 4830

Intel informed me that even though I was using the latest BIOS at the time for the Intel DG45ID motherboard that the system wasn't running properly. It seems that Blu Ray playback performance on the DG45ID motherboard with BIOS version 0075, 0079, and 0081 wasn't right as Intel accidentally broke something in the BIOS and the result was that hardware acceleration was not working. I just recently updated the BIOS on the Intel DG45ID motherboard to version 0085 (shown in the picture above) and without even checking the CPU usage I can tell that Blu-Ray performance is greatly improved...

Being closely knit with gaming peripheral makers Revoltec gave these guys a good head start in our books here, but how will the unit stand up compared to the myriad of PSUs we've reviewed recently? Only one way to find out. Let's get testing.

ASUS Eee Top ET1602 Review
ITreviewed posted a review on the ASUS Eee Top ET1602

Whereas stylish and compact all-in-one PCs, such as Apple's iMac, cost the same as a small townhouse in London, ASUS's Eee Top ET1602 is a snip at 449. Sporting a cracking design, bright and clear touchscreen display, along with an energy-efficient Atom processor and Windows XP, the Eee Top ET1602 would make for a great family PC. The screen is a bit on the small side - which makes you feel like you're using a laptop - but the added interactivity of touchscreen brings a fun element to casual computing. You can forget about running the latest 3D games, however, along with any dreams you might have harboured about upgrading in the near future because the Eee Top ET1602 is pretty much a closed system. As long as you don't use strenuous tasks, the Eee Top ET1602 is a great value system.

Etymotic ER-4 microPro Sound Isolating Earphones Review
TheTechLounge posted a review on the Etymotic ER-4 microPro Sound Isolating Earphones

The ER-4Ps are excellent at reproducing accurate sound from a recording. If you are listening to sub-par source material, you'll know it. With a great recording, you'll be inundated with all of the sounds that the producers wanted you to hear. I didn't find any part of the audio range that was lacking. It was a treat to experience my music collection with that full-range, emphatically detailed sound that comes from this set of headphones. And you don't hear anything else, thanks to the superb isolation that Etymotic has accomplished with the ER-4Ps.

Mushkin HP3 10666 2x2GB Review
OCC has published a new review on the Mushkin HP3 10666 2x2GB

Mushkin's slogan is "Get More". Did I? Why, yes, yes I did. At stock speeds, the Mushkin modules consistently performed almost identically the same as most of the 2x1GB sets. This, while running looser latencies to do it. Most of the 2x1GB kits are able to reduce the latencies to 6-5-5-16 at 1333MHz, but I was unable to make this happen on the HP3 10666 2x2GB set. But in reality, the addition of two gigabytes of additional system memory makes this a non-issue for day-to-day use. 'Feel' is something that is hard to explain, but most of you know just what I am talking about. Programs respond that little bit quicker, games load just that little bit faster, all things that you can feel but are not easily measured. Adding more system memory does this for you. If you run Vista, many of you know the amount of resources that are eaten up by all the background services. Running with just two gigabytes, means that eventually the requested memory is going to have to be paged out to the swap file and this of course takes longer to respond than having the physical memory available.

Smooth Creations LAN Shark Gaming System Review
TweakTown posted a review on the Smooth Creations LAN Shark Gaming System

Many enthusiasts seem to think that Smooth Creations came on the scene when Cooler Master introduced their CSX line of products. The truth is that Smooth Creations has been lingering around in the corner of the PC market for many years, long before CSX. And even if you are a casual user, chances are you are familiar with their work from Maximum PC’s Dream Machine project. Smooth Creations has painted nearly as many Dream Machines as Intel has calculated data.

Today we are taking a look at the Smooth Creations LAN Shark, the entry point for a Smooth Creations systems build. The LAN Shark comes in an acrylic case, but don’t let your initial thoughts on that stop you from reading on. Smooth Creations has devised a way to turn every negative aspect of acrylic around and produce a system that you will be proud to have sitting on your desk. So, clear some room and prepare to kick that PC sitting under your desk to the curb.

Abit AN78GS Review
OCC has published a new review on the Abit AN78GS

I was impressed by the Abit AN78GS performance. In almost every game test, it had the advantage over the comparison boards. It was always a few frames per second over the top of the pile, except in Call of Duty 4, where it fell short at higher resolutions. Furthermore, the GeForce 8200 integrated graphics processor can allow great energy savings if the Hybrid power technology is turned on. It can also give a hand to a low-end discrete graphics card in graphics intensive applications, by working in SLI. This onboard device has three different connectors to plug to any display device. The old VGA is still there as well as DVI and HDMI. Moreover, The southbridge ID075C from NVidia used on that Abit board has also crushed its AMD opponent, the SB750. The performance is closer to the Intel counterpart, the ICH10R.

If you're ready for more mouth-watering fun, Feeding Frenzy 2: Shipwreck Showdown won't disappoint. There are new challenges on every level so it is never boring, and there is even a little story to follow as you play along. It comes highly recommended for families and is an instant-classic. Our only disappointment is that there's no fishy screensaver included. In addition, it's a bit pricey, especially as you can purchase major releases for not much more financial outlay. Nevertheless, you should definitely dive in!
