If you're looking for a cooling solution that is difficult to install, has mediocre cooling performance and is annoyingly loud, the Vantec AeroFlow FX 120 is the ideal product for you. On the other hand, if you're like most PC enthusiasts, you'll want to avoid this product like the plague. The installation process has more PITA than the Greek restaurant my wife and I visited last night. Furthermore, the cooling performance is lackluster at best and the fan whines like a harpy in a Greek tragedy.

As we just mentioned, while the GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition may look like a standard reference board in terms of its cooling solution, things begin to look very different once you take a look at clock speeds, with this part offering some big boosts to clocks across the board. Starting out with the Black Edition's core clock, the reference clock speed of 576MHz is ditched in favour of a 666MHz clock (yes, that's right, they did go there) to make a 90MHz increase in speed. Together with this, shader clock speed also gets a big increase of 162MHz, up to 1404MHz from 1242MHz. Lastly, the board's GDDR3 memory gets an impressive increase from 999MHz up to 1150MHz to make for a 151MHz gain.

However, the smaller size, tough build quality, durable finish and simple styling of the Solid Alloy means that this keyboard is very well suited for use atop a media centre or home cinema system (although it is wired, which might put some off), and this is helped by the excellent array of media keys located along the top of the keyboard.

While these have come at the cost of shortcut keys (the Solid Alloy has just two for both email and Internet browser), we find that media keys are of much more use than shortcuts, especially if you¡¦re in game or mid-movie and don¡¦t want to alt-tab or interrupt playback. The funky purple, vaguely UV LEDs for num/scroll/caps lock also make a welcome return.

Although it¡¦s a little more expensive than the larger SuperSlim Alloy keyboard we¡¦ve also looked at today, we think the superior build quality of the Solid Alloy makes it the better choice of the two. It¡¦s a very attractive, wonderfully finished little bit of kit that¡¦s great for smaller workstations or a media PC, and while there¡¦s still room for improvement is still a fine compact keyboard.

I ran a test to see how long it would take to burn an image in high contrast using the Asus drive. The performance of the Titan CoolIdol CPU Cooler is quite amazing, it was able to beat out both the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme as well as the Cooler Master V8 CPU coolers, even through it was only a few degree difference between the three coolers, a win is still a win when the contest is the lowest temperature obtained. The overall design of the cooler not only looks good but it just screams that it is able to perform well. When I first pulled it out of the packaging, I was quite surprised with the build quality along with the obvious amount of time that was put into the design of the cooler. The dual heatsink design with the larger one above the smaller one sounded like a great idea and obviously worked quite well. The cooler was able to utilize all 6 copper heatpipes which allowed for the most heat to be transfered from the base of the cooler to the fins to be dissipated. The multi-platform design is always a good idea as it will add value and not attempt to single out only one socket type, allowing for more diverse usage of the cooler.
