Ultra M998 Midsize Black Tower Case Review
Legit Reviews posted a review on the Ultra M998 Midsize Black Tower Case

Overall, Ultra Produts has made a very nice case with the M998. The case is easy to work with and for a midsize tower, and it was found to have plenty of room to accommodate aftermarket coolers, extended length expansion cards, and large body PSU units. Ultra provides black mounting hardware for the drive bay devices to aid the end user obtain the ‘clean’ look by keeping everything the same color. Once a system is installed into the case, it really does look slick as you can see in the picture above...

Asus X38 Formula Maximus Review
Neoseeker takes a look at the Asus X38 Forumula Maximus motherboard

The stock results show that the Formula Maximus Special Edition performs well; and the overclocked results show that it can reach clock speeds fairly close to the maximum of other X38 and P35 boards. The dual PCIe 2.0 16x slots mean that you will not run out of PCIe bandwidth for high end CrossFire setups; frankly, video cards are no where near saturating even a PCIe 1.0 8x link in dual card configurations, so the Maximus leaves you with plenty of headroom. The SATA performance of the board was excellent.

SLI vs. CrossFire
Hardware Secrets posted an article on SLI and CrossFire

With the recent release of CrossFireX by AMD/ATI and 3-way SLI by nVidia we think it is a good time to make a technical comparison between all incarnations of these two technologies, which have the same goal: to allow video cards to be connected in parallel in order to increase gaming performance.

GMC AVC-S7 Slim HTPC Case Review
Metku.net took a closer look at GMC's unusually slim HTPC case.

We've already tested quite a few HTPC-cases, but the one we have this time still manages to stand from the crowd. It's a new product in the GMC's Noblesse-series. The difference between this case and all the earlier ones we've reviewed is that this is as slim as possible. All the HTPC-cases so far have had room for full-size PCI-cards, but that's not the case this time. The slim design has also forced the manufacturer to do some other changes to the normal layout.

Thermaltake DuOrb Graphics Card Cooler Review
APH Networks has published a new review on the Thermaltake DuOrb Graphics Card Cooler

Searching high and low for a new cooler for an NVIDIA 8800GTS, most people realize quickly that there aren't a lot out there even over a year of its release. What I am specifically looking for is something that's readily available, priced reasonably, performs decently, looks great, preferably doesn't occupy the next two slots below it, and above all, quiet. Thermaltake designed a product that on paper fits into all the categories I am looking for -- the Thermaltake DuOrb. Utilizing a pure copper design with heatpipes to distribute the heat around and two fans to blow the heat away, the Thermaltake DuOrb does not occupy any more space than the stock 8800GTS cooler. How well does the Thermaltake DuOrb fit our bill as a graphics card cooler in real life? Let's have a look at this unique heatsink/fan combination today.

Phenom 9900 Review
Neoseeker published a review on the Phenom 9900

was actually quite pleased with the performance of the Phenom 9900.

Given AMD's public commitment to fixing the TLB errata, and their move to 45nm with the "K10.5" architecture (Barcelona with some additional improvements) I suspect that AMD will be more competitive on the high end sometime next year.

But even until then... looking at the benchmarks, it did not seem like the Phenom 9900 was that far behind - if it was in fact behind at all.

Thermaltake DuOrb VGA Cooler Review
OCIA.net has posted their review of the Thermaltake DuOrb VGA Cooler.

For several months, the only aftermarket VGA cooler that I could find for my 8800GTX was the Thermalright HR-03 Plus. I reviewed this cooler back in April, and while it did offer excellent performance, it sacrificed precious expansion slots to accomplish this. Fast-forward eight months to present day and we have another new VGA cooler to test with the 8800GTX, the Thermaltake DuOrb VGA Cooler.

Ultra m998 Review
Overclockers Online has posted a new review on the Ultra m998

In terms of build quality, the m998 excels with its brushed aluminum finish and steel reinforced structure. Ultra has really put a lot of thought into the case as seen by the removable motherboard tray which includes part of the back panel, allowing you to install your expansion cards without struggling inside a cramped case. The interior is spacious and should satisfy pretty much everyone. One of my favorite features is the ability to attach casters to the bottom; every heavy case should have these!

ASUS Xonar U1 USB Audio Station Review
Virtual-Hideout posted ASUS Xonar U1 USB Audio Station Review

In particular, laptop/notebook users have often been out of luck in this respect. Most laptops do not come with 5.1 outputs (much less 5.1 digital output) and the internal sound options usually aren't upgradeable. Thus, those who have wanted a professional sound option for their laptops have usually be left less-than-satisfied. ASUS wants to change all of that with their new XONAR U1 Audio Station. This USB soundcard aims to provide high quality Dolby Digital audio as well as EAX and DirectSound 3D support for systems where other sound upgrades aren't an option. A slew of other features is also provided - let's see if the Xonar can deliver on all of this.

XFX 8800 GTS 640MB Extreme Edition Review
OCC has published a new review of the XFX 8800 GTS 640MB Extreme Edition

The front side of the card has the two DVI connections for single or dual monitor setups and the TV out port for the S-video or HDTV cables. You also can see the exhaust vent for the heatsink and fan which takes the air from the case over the heatsink and expels it out of the rear of the case to keep the warm air from recycling in the case. The back of the card has the 6-pin PCI-e power connector. XFX recommends that you DO NOT use a 4-pin molex to 6-pin PCI-e cable when powering this component.

Tweaknews.net posted In Win Allure Designer Computer Case Review

At a price of around $100 US the Allure is one of the pricier micro-ATX chassis out there, and it is obviously geared toward female users. However being female myself, I have a bit of advice for the guys – if the styling presented by this case is appealing to your wife or girlfriend, build her a system using one. She'll love it, and you can feel good knowing that you've used a unique, quality case in the process!.

ASUS EN8800GTS 512MB Video Card Review
Elite Bastards posted ASUS EN8800GTS 512MB review

When NVIDIA's G92 core was unleashed unto the world in the form of the GeForce 8800 GT, it received acclaim from basically every corner you could possibly imagine, and with good reason thanks to its wonderful price to performance ratio.

Zalman ZM1000-HP 1000W Power Supply Review
techPowerUp posted a review on the Zalman ZM1000-HP 1000W Power Supply

Zalman's new ZM1000-HP power supply has been designed with fan noise in mind. The heatpipe experts from Zalman have stuck two of these inside their PSU and added a slow running 140 mm fan on top of that. This winning combination results in one of the quietest PSUs we ever tested, especially considering it delivers up to 1000W of power via six independant 12V rails.
