MadPenguin.org is questioning: Is Freespire Killing Open Source?

For the uninformed, Freespire is a new product released to the community by the Linux distributor Linspire. What makes Freespire so unique is their very blatant decision to include open source and proprietary software under one hat.

Hardware Secrets is looking why 99% of Power Supply reviews are wrong

With computers (and users) asking for better power supplies, nothing more natural than reviewing websites publishing power supply reviews. But contrary to other hardware parts like CPUs, motherboards and video cards, one must have deep electronics knowledge in order to test a power supply. Since most reviewers are simply users with a above-the-average knowledge in computers – but not in electronics – almost all PSU reviews posted on the web are completely wrong and they do more warm than good, as some websites recommend products that are really flawed. In this article we will explain in details why 99% of power supply reviews posted on the web are wrong and we hope that reviewers learn more about the subject by reading this article and also that users learn how to identify a bad review.

ASE Labs posted a review on the Steelsound 3H & 4H Headsets

Steel is a company that I have much respect for. They have always thought of the gamer when building products. Even to this day, I use the Steelpad S&S for my mousepad needs. I have not used a better mousepad, ever. Continueing the tradition of quality products, Steel released sound gear to fullfil your gaming desires back when the 5H was first introduced. Since then, Steel has released a new 5Hv2 and, most recently, two new headsets. Let me introduce you to the 4H and the 3H.

XSreviews has reviewed the Nova Raider Mouse Mat

Nova are a company that took an old design, the humble mouse mat, and attempted to do something special with it. They added fancy features and outlandish colours with their Killer and Winner mats but today I am testing a slightly more conservatively styled pad, the Raider. Lets see how it does.

Legit Reviews checked out the XFX GeForce 8800 GTX SLI Video Card

NVIDIA really came to play with the 8800 GTX and in SLI you can bet that just about anything you can throw at them will run as smooth as silk. I spent several days with the cards in my own system trying to find something that could bring them to their knees and only found a couple of games that did just that. While not a wildly popular title, Marvel Ultimate Alliance can absolutely kill a single 8800 GTX at just 1920x1200 with Dynamic Lighting enabled. Throw in some AA and you have a card that is just able to keep the frame rates playable.

BurnOutPC.com has just posted their review on the QPAD CE-R & XT-R.

Somehow the XT-R feels softer than the EC-R and smoother. A bit more refined so to speak. The extra thickness is no problem and it doesn't affect the comfort level at any point. The XT-R feels stronger and looks much better too. However the EC-R is half the price of the XT-R so if your looking for a new mouse pad, any of these two will do just fine. But it's still a matter of would you spend twice as much for the XT-R if you can get the CE-R.

DV Hardware posted an OCZ Roadster 1GB review

The OCZ Roadster is a new ultra-portable memory stick that features a "top-down" design. Contrary to most other flash drives the OCZ Roadster doesn't have a cap that you can lose. Instead it features a convertible design, with one flip the USB connector comes out the black protective cover.

OCIA.net takes a look at the NZXT Zero Full Tower Aluminum Chassis in their latest review.

The rear of the case offers two 120mm exhaust fans. I was happy to see a free-flowing design with these exhaust ports, rather than the restrictive grill designs that many other case manufacturers use. You can also see that two thumb-screws are used to hold the left side panel in place, allowing you to gain access to the case without the need for a screwdriver.
