Silverstone MS05 Enclosure Review
Driven Heaven posted Silverstone MS05 Enclosure Review

The increasing demand for high capacity mobile storage solutions drives consumers towards 2.5" HDDs and external enclosures. A 2.5" HDD requires minimal power to operate, while it can also offer the large storage capacity needed for regular back-ups or large file transfers.

Transferring large amounts of data over the USB bus can be a nightmare for many people who need to be on the move quickly. 2.5" drives are considerably larger than flash drives and, in many cases; the enclosures are not sturdy enough to protect the sensitive disk drives. The answer to these problems, according to SilverStone, is the MS05 enclosure. The MS05 is made out of aluminum, comes with a docking bay and offers not only a USB port but an eSATA port as well, which is considerably faster.

AMD Phenom TLB Patch Benchmarked and Explained
Legit Reviews posted an article on the AMD Phenom TLB Patch

Using the PCMark Vantage test suite the difference between having the TLB patch workaround enabled and disabled was night and day. The system didn't feel any slower on the test bench, but the results showed differently. The performance difference ranged from 2% to 11.7% depending on the testing. It's obvious that the TLB workaround impacts performance...

Digital Storm Twister Extreme 3-Way SLI System Review
PC Perspective posted a review on the Digital Storm Twister Extreme 3-Way SLI System

The Digital Storm Twister Extreme system has done nothing but impress me from day one. The case quality and build quality are among the best I have seen in custom boutique systems and the prices they offer are near the lowest we have seen anywhere. The hardware in the DS system was also impressive -- but you expect that when you get a build sheet that includes 3-Way SLI and an overclocked QX6850 processor.

Nero 8 Ultra Edition Review
DragonSteelMods.com posted Nero 8 Ultra Edition Review

The product I have for review today really needs no introduction, pretty much everyone knows what Nero is... but today for review I've got Nero 8 Ultra Edition and it features many improvements over Nero 7 including a re-designed StartSmart interface.

I personally love Nero and have always used it as my main software for burning and creating CDs or DVDs. Some people out there complain that Nero is bloated and there's just too much stuff with it, I happen to like having all of these great programs in one suite of tools where I can essentially do most anything I need to with my CDs and DVDs. To get the functionality you get from Nero you'd have to buy and install a lot of different programs which would easily cost quite a bit more than Nero itself does. So continue on to learn more about the new Nero 8 Ultra Edition, I've got tons of information and screenshots of everything for you to browse and see what's new in Nero 8...

NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Graphics Card Review
Tech ARP posted a review on the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Graphics Card

The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT is based on the new NVIDIA G92 GPU. This is basically a tweaked and G80 silicon die-shrinked using the 65 nm process technology. This allows NVIDIA to cramp even more transistors into the die and yet produce a smaller chip.

The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT will be available in two "flavours" - the standard 512MB model and a cheaper 256MB model. Both models will retain the same clock speeds and 256-bit memory bus. So, the only real difference is the size of the memory buffer.

At launch, the standard NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with 512MB of GDDR3 memory will be priced from US$199 to US$249, depending on the vendor and value-added features. The 256MB model will be slightly cheaper at US$179-US$199, again depending on the vendor and value-added features.

That's really quite cheap, isn't it? But will the new NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT make a great Christmas present, or should we be looking for something with even better value? Let's find out in this review.

OCZ Vendetta CPU cooler Review
The Guru of 3D posted a review on the OCZ Vendetta CPU cooler

OCZ launched a heatpipe based cooler called the Vendetta. You'll notice from the cooling block design that the pipes physically run over the CPU heatspreader, there's no copper block to find, and that actually works. So due to the innovative heatpipe design, the cooler has direct contact with the CPU. Combine that with a price under USD 30 and some good performance results and you are good to go.

So what we'll do today is grab a Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor (2400 MHz) overclock it to 3600 MHz and observe how well this 30 USD cooler performs. That should be interesting ...

Sigma Luna WB Case Review
techPowerUp posted a review on the Sigma Luna WB Case

The Sigma Luna has a clean look with a brushed aluminum finish. It is light-weight, yet I still found it surprisingly sturdy. The large side panel window, sleek door design, silver accents, and chrome trim highly compliment the black satin finish. Top this off with an all aluminum chassis and tool-free installation, and you get a combination that is a pleasure to work with and look at.

Edifier E1100 2.1 Speaker System Review
Hardware Canucks posted a review on the Edifier E1100 2.1 speaker system.

It seems as though Edifier's pedigree in high-end sound is paying off for them as they continue to produce some surprisingly good budget PC speaker systems. The E1100 2.1 system has decent quality sound output for its asking price but it is not the kind of sound that will fill a large room. The system is meant for personal listening on a PC or possibly a MP3 player and not hard-core gaming or movie watching.

USB Star Hub from Brando WorkShop Reviewed
DragonSteelMods.com posted a review on the USB Star Hub from Brando WorkShop

USB hubs come in all shapes and sizes these days, you can find them in many themes as well, but the majority of these hubs have one inherent flaw: The spacing of their ports, they are usually too close together to allow multiple devices to be connected at the same time.

Today for review I've got the USB Star Hub from our friends at Brando WorkShop, this hub eliminates this problem by providing ports that can be rotated 180 degrees allowing pretty much any sized device to be attached. The Star Hub itself is very colorful and seems to be well made, it's also lightweight making it portable to take with you anywhere you need to.

OCZ Vanquisher Review
OCC has published a new review of the OCZ Vanquisher

The Vanquisher comes ready to mount to LGA775 sockets. To mount on AMD systems, the LGA775 brackets are removable with four small Phillips screws. The screws were challenging at best to remove. After a half hour of trying various screwdrivers that were too big, jewelers screwdrivers that could not generate enough torque, and mangling the fins numerous times, the LGA brackets were finally freed from the Vanquisher's hold. The only casualty from the entire affair was the pre-applied thermal interface paste OCZ had generously applied.

OCZ Vendetta Review
Bit-Tech published a review of the OCZ Vendetta

For the size, the OCZ Vendetta is exceptionally capable, providing you run the fan at full speed. If you're anything like us, that'll just drive you nuts, however it seems that some in our community have a greater tolerance to these things so it could suit them well. Using the included 4-pin connector on the fan works well, providing your motherboard has the facility to use it although you can still swap it for any 92mm of choice and take the performance hit. However, does the cost of an extra 92mm fan on top of this heatsink simply equate to a bigger heatsink altogether?

The attention to detail, like the rubber fan mounts and pitted fins, is excellent. In addition to its great build quality and because it's smaller than most heatsinks we've seen recently, it should easily fit more restrictive boards as well. It's a great replacement for the stock Intel heatsink but some might not be sure if it's worth more than the Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro which, at the same noise level, should perform fairly similarly to the Vendetta.
