The Tech Report has posted a review on NVIDIA´s Detonator 3 drivers in Windows 2000.

Looking around the web at the plethora of reviews, previews, overviews, of the new GeForce 2 GTS Ultra cards and their accompanying Detonator 3 drivers, I noticed a common thread: pretty much everybody tested in Win98 SE, but not in Windows 2000. Given that I don´t even have Win98 installed on my Pee Cee anymore, I was eager to see how the new Detonator 3 drivers would push my GeForce 2 GTS card in MS´s best OS. The Detonator 2 (5.xx) drivers for Windows 2000 were a bit slower than their Win98 counterparts, so I was hoping for big things.

The new Detonator 3´s didn´t disappoint.

I tested these puppies in the two most useful resolutions I use in the only game I take time for any more: Quake III Arena. On my Athlon 800/Abit KA7 system, I can generally run Q3 acceptably at 1024x768 in 32-bit color, but it is a bit slow from time to time. Using full-scene antialiasing (FSAA), 800x600 or lower is playable, but nothing higher. (I always run with highest texture and geometric detail, plus trilinear filtering, by the way.)
