Doom 3 has to be the most highly anticipated games in a long time. Up until recently with the release of Far Cry, the FPS genre has had some less than spectacular releases which include Deus Ex: Invisible War and Unreal 2. John Carmack and the team at iD Software have had this game in development for years. This has left many geeks eagerly awaiting it's release. Actually, from the way some people were talking, you'd have expect them to run over their own mother to get Doom 3. To be honest, I don't remember the last time I'd walked into Best Buy and seen a display with an FPS game out right behind the registers. That told me how big Doom 3 was expected to be.
