Thanks to Pappy for sending me the follow concerning Windows 2000 drivers from Efficient Networks.

Microsoft has been strongly positioning Windows 2000 as the replacement for Windows NT in small, medium, and large businesses. They are positioning Windows 98 SE as the "upgrade" for consumers using Windows 98 or Windows 95 and they will promote Windows Millennium Edition as the eventual upgrade for consumers. Efficient has positioned the 3000/4000 series of DSL products into the residential/consumer market. As such, the operating system target
for these products has always been Microsoft´s consumer offerings: Windows 95, Windows 98, and the soon to be released Windows Millennium Edition.

A completely new 3000/4000 driver architecture supporting Windows Millennium and Windows 2000 will be generally available in the third quarter of this year. The 3060 version of these drivers will be available in June and the 4060 version of the drivers will be available in July.

Users of the 3060 will be able to download a patch starting the week of 3/6/00 which will differ from standard SpeedStream functionality in areas of installation and status monitoring. The patch will employ a manual .INF based installation procedure and as such, there will be no Windows InstallShield application to perform prerequisite checking.

Thank you for your patience,
