ADATA XPG Z1 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 Memory Kit Review

The 5820K has shown that a strong boost in CPU performance can be obtained for a reasonable price increase over the LGA 1150 Core i7 CPUs. And many of the X99 motherboards sit well below £200, making them affordable to enthusiast buyers. But where that entire value logic of Intel’s X99 platform starts to fall short is at the expense of DDR4 memory.

One way of keeping costs to a minimum is by opting for a slower (therefore cheaper) memory kit. We test ADATA’s 2400MHz XPG Z1 16GB DDR4 kit to see how it stacks up against the higher-priced, faster alternatives.

Eight Ultra HD (4K) monitors Review

We've been waiting for resolutions higher than Full-HD for a long time now but it's finally here. 2014 was the year of Ultra HD, not just for televisions but also on you're desk. Hardware.info has tested eight different UHD-monitors so far and in the next few pages will show our findings and opinions on them.

Processors and graphics cards get faster every year, memory becomes cheaper and comes in larger capacities and storage wise we have the choice of either super fast and ever more affordable solid state storage or hard disks up to 6 TB. Monitors however have mainly only gotten cheaper. The last few years we have seen the rise of affordable IPS or VA-based models which offer superior colour reproduction and viewing angles. At the same time TN-based monitors are being sold for next to nothing. Only people with a bunch of extra cash could afford to invest in a WQHD monitor with 2560x1440 pixels which is only available on a 27 inch panel. This meant that for a long time there wasn't a whole lot of choice if you were looking for a new monitor.

HyperX Cloud II Headset

HyperX, a sub-division of Kingston, hit the market strong over the few last years. They have created a name that has been praised by many and they have taken a big leap into PC Peripherals and Accessories arena. During CES 2014, HyperX announced the launch of its headset the HyperX Cloud. The Cloud headset got great reviews from many sites last year including our own, and this year at CES 2015 they launched a revision called the HyperX Cloud II headset.

With its relaunch of the headset, our question is…will the HyperX Cloud II headset live up to its older brother’s expectations? So, it's Nvidia who is releasing the GeForce GTX 960 based products. The GM206 GPU empowering the card has been a topic of much discussion over the past few months, and let's face it... everybody expected this GPU to be based on the GPU being used in the GTX 970 and 980. Then there were delays, and the product got pushed backwards to even after Christmas. Yes, somebody made the decision that the GTX 960 should be a cheaper fab product opposed to using the more expensive GM204 that you know from the GTX 970/980. Nvidia now bakes the GM206 for the GTX 960 series, the product has been castrated and stripped of everything that is sexy with the GTX 970/980. You'll see the memory cut down to 2 GB of memory on these puppies, that memory runs on a 128-bit wide bus, the shader processors have been halved to 1024 Shader/Stream/Cuda cores.

Patriot Ignite SSD Review (480GB) - Asynch Flash Takes On a Whole New Look

Up until recently, Patriot Memory seemed to have moved back from the SSD scene and become focused on phone accessories and portable devices for their retail makeup. Today is a new day, however, and Patriot enters the SSD arena once again. Read on as we put the new 480GB Patriot Ignite to the tes in our first review of a Patriot SSD for some time.

As with many third-party SSDs in previous years, Patriot’s drives have typically been SandForce driven. Recently, Phison has become recognized as a solid competitor in the SSD controller game through their offering of great performance at a decent price. The end result seems to be a much closer look at Phison by SSD manufacturers, Patriot included with the introduction of their new Ignite SSD family.

SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism Review

It was almost a year ago to the day when we took a look at the Siberia Elite gaming headset. As impressive as it was, there were some downsides that made a fair few people unhappy, One was the comfort, as we even noted ourselves, the grip was strong and the earpads were large but unaccomodating for ears, all this while being fairly heavy lead to many suffering from fatigue. This problem has been solved by reducing the grip strength and increasing the strength of the suspension headband as well as making a larger earcup to better fit peoples ears. There was also an issue where many would experience audio cutout due to a mechanical flaw where an internal cable would shear when the headband was stretched too far, it is to my understanding that this has now been fixed. Finally, the microphone has been replaced with a completely new one with improved noise cancelling. This is a lot of refinement to which you could say that the Siberia Elite Prism is the Siberia Elite V2, reflecting SteelSeries' determination to deliver an uncompromised highend gaming headset.

Much of the aesthetic remains similar to the previous Elite headset, available in white/black and black, the overall design is definitive of the Siberia Series yet allows you to think sleek and imposing or beautifully monstrous. If SteelSeries delivers on their claims of improvement, the Siberia Elite Prism could simply be the finest example of a gaming headset.

Together with Toshiba Exceria micro SDXD card we have also received TransMemory EXII 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive. TransMemory EXII is the latest and the fastest Toshiba flash drive series exceding 220MB/s read bandwidth. Not so long time ago SSD drives could reach these speeds while now we can carry so fast storage in our pockets wherever we go.
