The EVGA NEX1500 Classified unit only addresses a very restricted portion of users: the truly hardcore with resources for such a PSU and the suitable hardware to justify its purchase. EVGA has also decided to release two down-to-earth models with much lower capacities for the rest; they have a high efficiency and a fully modular design. EVGA has, strangely enough, included these new PSUs as a part of their SuperNOVA series. The gap between their middle NEX750G model, which we will evaluate today, and the monstrous NEX1500 is huge! They may release more models with higher capacities to close the gap, but we are pretty sure that such a release is highly dependent on the success of their NEX750G and NEX650G units.

The NEX750G is only a quarter as expensive as the NEX1500 unit, but it offers half of its capacity along with Gold efficiency, is equipped with eight PCIe connectors, and uses Japanese-brand capacitors for higher reliability. It can also deliver its full power continuously at up to 50°C, and EVGA has a lot of confidence in this platform by backing the NEX750G up with a five-year warranty. The specifications of this PSU do look amazing. This is one of the very few 750 W units - if not the only one - that comes with so many PCIe connectors, although half of them are only six-pin connectors. We are used to seeing really expensive high-end units and very expensive 750 W PSUs with six PCIe connectors; however, eight provide even more headroom to the enthusiast user. But enough talk. It is time to fire up the Chroma loaders and all the other equipment to get this review rolling.
