AORUS Thunder M7 Mouse and P3 Mouse Pad Review

There are so many mice on the market, it can be daunting to narrow down the choices to buy something suited to your needs, preferences, and budget. There are mice to cover tasks suited to the office, and those oriented to gaming, to name a couple of targeted consumers. But the market subset that we don’t see often targeted is the the MMO or RTS gamer in particular. With unique needs for more buttons and macros that the typical FPS gamer doesn’t really need, you’d think there would be many choices on the market for MMO gamers. In fact, there aren’t.

Well, today we’re going to test drive the AORUS Thunder M7, a mouse that’s specifically geared to MMO/RTS gamers. Coming with a huge assortment of buttons and some unique features as well, the M7 looks rather exciting. It’s got well-established Gigabyte backing it through their new AORUS gaming division, and the M7 is the flagship MMO mouse. And as an added bonus, we have the Thunder P3 mouse pad for a closer look as well, a control mat that’s utterly massive.

Let’s dive in.

ASUS X99 Deluxe Review

ASUS have ever been a benchmark brand to look towards for new component platforms, and so we have been extremely keen to look at their take on Intel’s high-end X99 Express platform for Haswell-E processors. The first may well be one of the best as it sits at the top of the ASUS consumer range; yes, we have the ASUS X99-Deluxe.

The X99-Deluxe sits atop a range comprising the X99-A, X99-S and X99-Deluxe. The range as a whole caters to consumers looking to spend between £190 and £300 on the motherboard alone, with the high-end Deluxe model increasing the amount of value-added constituent parts. Nonetheless, all share the core functionality of Intel’s X99 chipset in addition to any which ASUS deems essential to their product range. For those curious, the Republic Of Gamers sister brand pitches their Rampage V Extreme slightly higher even than the X99-Deluxe.

The BIOSTAR A68N-5000 board has a pretty small footprint and offers plenty of bang for the buck. We only need to fit one or two DDR3 modules, plug in the power supply, connect the SSD/HDD and off we go, we have a fully operating machine. We are welcome to install the desired operating system on it and for ease of access now BIOSTAR have went with a fully-fledged UEFI interface, no more Aptio here! In the following article we will try to get more in-depth with this board to see what is it capable of.

Fanless HTPC: Intel Bay Trail-D Pentium J2900 & Asrock Q2900-ITX Review

In our budget CPU roundup earlier this year, AMD's Kabini Athlon 5350 squared off against Intel's Bay Trail-D Celeron J1900, showing itself to be better at gaming and encoding workloads. The new Asrock Q2900-ITX ships with a Pentium J2900 on a Mini-ITX board for $104 and is aimed straight against the same AMD offering. The Pentium chip is nearly identical to Intel's Celeron J1900 at first glance, but differs in raw clock speed.

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H Motherboard Review

For the mainstream segment, Gigabyte has prepared an interesting Z97 solution, the GA-Z97-UD5H. This board has a clean PCB design, with Dual LAN, decent spacing between the PCI-Express slots, a shielded RTL1150 solution but also M.2 and SATA Express for future proofing.
