AMD CPU sales outpace those of Intel at leading German etailer

Beats Chipzilla in both units sold and revenue generated metrics. August saw AMD overtake Intel in CPU sales at one of Germany's leading online computer components retailers. The latest figures for market shares at MindFactory.de have AMD selling the lion's share of desktop PC processors, furthermore it is now a better revenue generator for the retailer. Reddit user ingebor published these interesting sales system charts (via NeoWin).

The first AMD Ryzen CPUs were launched in March this year. HEXUS started its review coverage with the top end Ryzen 7 1800X and quickly went on to review the Ryzen 7 1700X and 1700 in the same month. AMD started to bring Ryzen to the mainstream in April with the Ryzen 5 1500X and Ryzen 5 1600X followed by its cheapest four- and six-core Ryzen 5 1400 and Ryzen 5 1600 processors.

GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF: Performance King with LCD

GALAX were the first to market with a LCD display on a graphics card, and they haven't done it in a small way. GALAX's new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF is a beautiful card inside and out, with some of the best cooling and power delivery on the market, mixed with the uniqueness of having a freakin' LCD display on your graphics card - just cos. The new GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF might not sound like much to the uninitiated, but HOF = Hall of Fame, the best that GALAX makes. But is the new GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF the best GTX 1080 Ti? That's something we'll find out very soon. This is a normal graphics card review, but I will have a GTX 1080 Ti round up shortly that will include the GTX 1080 Ti HOF.

MSI X299 Gaming M7 ACK Motherboard Review

For the first time in a long while there is serious competition in the high-end consumer desktop space. Consumers are spoilt for choice between Intel’s HEDT X299 platform and “up to eighteen core” i9/i7 CPUs or AMD’s X399 platform with “up to 16 core” Threadripper CPUs. Even with AMD’s more competitive pricing Intel’s hard-earned reputation for high-end desktop prowess and a higher maximum core count will make X299 motherboards, like the MSI X299 Gaming M7 ACK, a safe choice for enthusiasts and prosumers alike.

Optoma UHD550X DLP Home Entertainment Projector Review

4K HDR projection without breaking the bank. A 4K projector is the ultimate addition to a home cinema, yet while the likes of the Sony VPL-VW550ES have left us spellbound through dazzling visuals, costs remain a major obstacle for the average consumer. The aforementioned Sony fetches a cool £10,000 at retail, and the 4K entry fee has remained prohibitive... until now.

Multiple big-name manufactures are introducing more affordable solutions in the fourth quarter of 2017, and Optoma is leading the charge with a trio of new models priced from £1,999. Said fee is comparable to that of an 55in OLED TV, but the option to super-size your movie nights holds genuine appeal, so can an entry-level 4K projector deliver the goods?
