AOC AGON AG273QCG 27in 144Hz TN Gaming Monitor Review

The AOC AGON AG273QCG offers the lightning quick response time and refresh rate of a proper gaming monitor but in a larger, higher resolution form than your typical 1080p gaming display. This 27-inch monitor has a 1440p resolution but still offers a 144Hz refresh rate (overclockable to 165Hz) and a 1ms response time.

ASUS TUF Gaming H5 Wired 7.1 Headset Review

It's a new TUF Gaming 7.1 headset from ASUS - does Briony rate it at £80? In this review we take a look at one of the peripherals from ASUS’ TUF lineup. The TUF name originally appeared on a range of motherboards, and now with the start of the TUF Gaming Alliance there has been a shift to create an entire range of more affordable TUF components. The H5 is a multi-platform wired headset with 7.1 virtual surround sound, a dual microphone setup and a stainless steel headband design.

It uses the same grey and yellow colour scheme that is a staple of the TUF family, but is this headset worthy of the TUF name and can it justify the £79.99 asking price?

Cooler Master has been in peripheral business for a long time, especially with regularly releasing newer keyboards and headsets. The Cooler Master CK550 and the MH751 are two good examples. The gaming peripheral market is over-crowded and yet it manages to sell. The last mouse I’ve reviewed from Cooler Master is the Alcor and the Mizar. I loved the Alcor optical mouse. It was an agile mouse with all the switches places in reachable areas and I wanted more was the grips the Laser mouse Mizar. This wasn’t the only brand that had this point of view at the time since everyone was in the race to push laser sensors and the next best thing. I never really understood why optical sensors were considered less premium to justify lesser premium features when it was hassle-free, compared to laser sensors of certain makes that had quirks that took some firmware and sensor updates implemented by the manufacturer. Logitech was one of the gaming peripheral makers that were able to capitalize this with its MX series. For some reason, it ditched the MX branding under G series- and now brought it back.

Nvidia GTX 1650 neck-and-neck with AMD RX 580 in FFXV

That's at 1080p HQ. Performance drops off significantly in the 1440p 'lite' quality test. The as yet unannounced Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 was spotted going through the EEC trading area about 10 days ago. This SKU will complete the GTX 16 series for now, unless the earlier rumoured 3GB GTX 1660 (Ti) cards start rolling out at the same time. In our previous GTX 1650 story we predicted the "3DMark, Geekbench, AoTS and / or FFXV scores," would be next in the leaky trail of this graphics card to launch date, and today the eagle eyed Tum Apisak shared the fact that he had spotted this very GPU in the official Final Fantasy XV online benchmarks database.

If you head on over to the FFXV benchmarks page you will find reference to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 in the 1920 x 1080 High Quality, and the 2560 x 1440 Lite Quality tables. In the former table, part reproduced below, you can see that the GTX 1650's performance is somewhere between the AMD Radeon RX 570 and 580 graphics cards. Compared to previous Nvidia graphics cards it performs rather similarly to the GTX 1660 3GB version.

Sapphire GearBox Thunderbolt 3 Graphics Enclosure Review

Attractive and decent value for money. We're approaching an interesting time in PC graphics. On the one hand, Nvidia, AMD and Intel are all busy designing architectures that will power the GPUs of tomorrow. Connected to the desktop computer via a discrete PCIe card or integrated into gaming laptops, the fundamental design remains the same as five years' ago.

The interesting part is the wrinkle that cloud-based rendering may have on future buying choices. Google's Stadia promises low-latency game streaming at 4K60 HDR, while Microsoft isn't far behind with its cloud-streamed approach currently known as Project xCloud. GPUs are here to stay; it is the method of pixel delivery that may change.

We’ve been in 2019 for a while. Although weve covered one or two smartphones in the last couple of months of the calendar year, the true “2019 flagship” phone season is really only starting now. Samsung’s Galaxy S10 is among the first releases in this new wave of phones, and for many markets it outright is the very first of a brand-new generation.

Samsung mixed things up this year by announcing the Galaxy S10 in San Francisco instead of the usual Mobile World Congress event. Though not unprecedented, the big reason here for the change in venues was to reflect Samsungs close collaboration with US carriers such as Verizon on 5G and other matters. Indeed 5G has been pretty much the buzzword for the last year or more, and the last few months have been especially busy in this regard. To that end, there will be a 5G model of the S10, however with its limited availability it doesn’t have nearly the same mass-market appeal as the new mainstream variants of the Galaxy 10.
