TweakTown has posted a review of the Gigabyte 7DX Socket-A motherboard which is based on the new AMD 760 DDR chipset with support for both PC2100 and PC1600 DDR SDRAM as well as ATA100, AGP4x, 4 USB ports, AC´97 and MC´97 capabilities.
The GA-7DX is powered by the new AMD 761 Northbridge chipset. This new chipset from AMD supports the new DDR SDRAM memory system. The AMD 761 chipset itself supports up to 4GB of PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM. Along with this, AMD has added AGP 4x support and official 266MHz FSB which makes this a feature packed Northbridge. While AMD recommend pairing the 761 Northbridge with the 766 Southbridge, Gigabyte have elected to use the VIA VT82C686B Southbridge. This adds ATA-100 support, 4USB, AC´97 and MC´97 capabilities.Read more
