VIA's K8T800 Pro chipset powers the most popular Socket 754 boards on the market and when that core logic was released, it was no surprise to see the major Tier-I and Tier-II board vendors update any K8T800 designs they had, using V-Map flexibility to just drop the new ASICs in (for the most part). Gigabyte is one such vendor.
