NVIDIA's GeForce 6600 graphics cards have become an instant hit with HTPC users everywhere, their output options are second to none: offering DVI (compatible with HDTV sets), VGA, Component (Y/Pb/Pr), S-video, and composite video. NVIDIA was the first to offer robust overscan compensation support when using DVI. The output options combined with the excellent PureVideo video processing capabilities makes a GeForce 6600 a perfect option for an HTPC. With PCI Express graphics cards quickly becoming the defacto standard it is increasingly hard to find a suitable AGP card for an HTPC. Today we look at one of the few passive modern graphics cards available in AGP format: the Gigabyte GV-N66256DP, a 256MB GeForce 6600 card that utilizes a heatpipe and large heatsinks on the front and back of the card to dissipate the heat without using a fan.
